SEOUL, Aug. 25, 2023 — LG Electronics (LG) announces the global rollout of its latest Lifestyle Screen, the unique LG StanbyME Go (model 27LX5). The innovative new model boasts a 27-inch touch display and a 20W four-channel speaker system cleverly integrated into a stylish and sturdy carrying case. Building on the portability and versatility of the original StanbyME, the 27LX5 lets users enjoy memorable entertainment experiences wherever they go.

Perfect for watching movies, playing games and more, the StanbyME Go can be used indoors or out; its carrying case and built-in battery enabling take-anywhere convenience, superior screen protection and up to 3 hours of use without connection to an external power outlet. In addition to the new Lifestyle Screen’s large display and robust speakers, the case includes safe storage for the product’s streamlined remote control and power cable.

StanbyME Go complements its portability with versatile adjustability that supports a range of different uses and personal preferences. Users can tilt the screen to achieve the best viewing angle, rotate it 90 degrees from landscape to portrait and back, adjust its height by up to 18 centimeters or put it in Table mode. When set to Table mode, the StanbyME Go’s screen lies flat in the lower part of the case, allowing users to play digital board games including chess and ‘Hidden Catch,’ or switch on the virtual record player for a fun, nostalgic listening experience. Conveniently, LG’s Lifestyle Screen automatically turns on when its case is opened and turns off when it is closed.

The StanbyME Go also offers proven durability, as evidenced by its successful completion of 11 tests compliant with the U.S. military’s rigorous MIL-STD-810G standard. The tests demonstrate that the 27LX5 can handle a wide variety of environmental factors, including low pressure, high temperature, low temperature, dust and salt spray, and provides protection against accidental drops, vibration and shock.

For maximum viewing immersion, the built-in speakers of StanbyME Go automatically optimize audio output to the front of the screen. Viewing experiences are further enhanced through support for Dolby’s advanced video and sound technologies, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Equipped with LG’s proprietary webOS smart TV platform, StanbyME Go lets users effortlessly connect to their iOS or Android devices. Moreover, voice recognition makes it possible to do app launching, adjust sound and search for contents completely hands-free – an especially helpful feature for those who like to cook, clean or take on other tasks or activities while they watch.

LG’s Lifestyle Screen products are revolutionizing the user and viewing experience, presenting new ways to enjoy content and new lifestyle value for today’s consumers. LG StanbyME Go is set to launch globally, starting in the U.S. this month, with plans for global rollout to key markets in Europe including Italy, France, UK, Spain and Germany from next month.

LG will be showcasing its latest lifestyle TVs, including StanbyME, StanbyME Go, along with the LG OLED Objet Collection Posé, at its exhibition booth (Hall 18, Messe Berlin) at IFA 2023 in Berlin, Germany, from September 1-5.

Featuring a 21:9 Aspect Ratio Screen, LG’s Latest Smart Monitor Is Perfect
      for Productivity and Entertainment

SEOUL, July 24, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) is launching its latest LG MyView Smart Monitor (model 34SR65QC),1 a 34-inch display with a unique form factor and a range of features for better productivity and entertainment experiences. This marks the company’s first smart monitor featuring a curved, 21:9 aspect ratio UltraWide screen, offering an expansive desktop display solution for customers seeking improved workflow, enhanced viewing immersion or both.
The newly-released LG MyView Smart Monitor boasts a 34-inch WQHD (3,440 x 1,440) resolution2 VA panel, delivering 300 nits of brightness, a wide viewing angle and 99 percent coverage of the sRGB color gamut. These specifications, combined with the screen’s 21:9 format, make the LG MyView an excellent ‘side-by-side’ desktop companion for office workers, developers and other digital professionals.
The 34SR65QC facilitates greater work efficiency courtesy of its elongated, high-resolution display, useful screen-organization features and support for various home-office apps. The 21:9 UltraWide display provides additional screen-space, allowing users to keep multiple tabs and windows open at the same time and arrange them optimally using the built-in Screen Split function. What’s more, users can take advantage of apps such as mail, online document editors and cloud storage directly on the monitor without having to connect to a PC or laptop. The extra width of the 34SR65QC enables users to operate productivity apps in full screen (16:9) mode and still have enough room for helpful generative AI tools, which can be conveniently pinned to the right-hand part of the display in a smaller-sized (5:9) window.
The 34SR65QC is also ideal for those seeking a movie theater-like experience at home. Its UltraWide display allows users to enjoy 21:9 content as it was meant to be seen, eliminating the letter-boxing needed to preserve the aspect ratio on conventional 16:9 monitors. This new model is the first in the LG MyView lineup to allow the streaming of video captured in the 21:9 format, bringing a cinematic feel to broadcast content and giving users a real sense of being part of the action.
Like all LG MyView Smart Monitors, the 34SR65QC comes equipped with the LG webOS platform, which provides access to a wide range of content services including Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video, along with personalized viewing recommendations and intuitive navigation. For even more superb content options, users can head to LG Channels – LG’s free, premium content service – and browse more than 300 channels3 spanning categories such as movies, news, sports, drama and children’s programming. Additionally, with AirPlay 24 and ScreenShare5 support, users can stream or mirror content from their smartphones, enjoying all their go-to mobile apps and games on the monitor’s large, curved screen.
The 34SR65QC comes with a handy remote that provides basic functions such as power and volume control. It is also compatible with the LG Magic Remote,6 which delivers user-friendly features such as AI Concierge and one-touch access to popular streaming services including Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+. The AI Concierge, activated by pressing the Magic Remote’s microphone button, recognizes different voices and recommends content based on each user’s viewing history.
Furthermore, once LG MyView Smart Monitor has been connected to the LG ThinQ smart home platform, the ThinQ app can transform the user’s smartphone into a remote offering both touch- and voice-control capabilities. For additional convenience, users can manage monitor settings and navigate and search webOS using a keyboard and mouse.
“By expanding the LG MyView Smart Monitor lineup with our new 34-inch curved UltraWide model, we are providing consumers with a comprehensive productivity and entertainment solution,” said YS Lee, vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Business Solutions Company. “We will continue to introduce versatile smart monitors that combine innovative designs with premium performance and practical features.”
LG MyView Smart Monitor is launching globally starting in the U.S and Korea in August, with availability in other markets to follow soon after.

1 LG MyView Smart Monitor is available in two versions: one offering tilt- and height-adjustability (model 34SR65QC) and one providing tilt-adjustability (model 34SR60QC). All other technical specifications, features and capabilities are common to both versions.
2 Wide Quad High Definition resolution.
3 Channel and program availability on LG Channels may differ by region.
4 To use AirPlay and HomeKit with this monitor, the latest version of iOS, iPadOS or macOS is recommended.

New Facility to Focus on Development of Innovative HVAC Solutions
Tailored to Europe’s Diverse Regional Climates

SEOUL, July 15, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) is establishing a new Air Solution Research and Development (R&D) Lab in Frankfurt, Germany. The state-of-the-art facility will join existing LG Air Solution Labs in Changwon, South Korea; and Atlanta, Georgia, USA, to form a global R&D triangle.
The new 10,000-square-foot lab will focus primarily on developing high-efficiency heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions for Europe’s varied local climates. Research and testing will be carried out on a wide range of residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including heat pumps, energy monitoring systems and energy management platforms. Through executing an extensive, locally-focused R&D program, the Frankfurt lab will reinforce LG’s ability to provide HVAC solutions tailored for the European market.
Additionally, the new lab will collaborate with the company’s recently launched European Consortium for Advanced Heat Pump Research to develop heat pumps that can reliably deliver top-tier heating performance during Northern Europe’s harsh winters. To strengthen the capabilities of its European HVAC business, LG plans to nurture and actively recruit local talent in fields such as heat pump design and smart home technology.
A major focus for LG, the European HVAC market is expected to see significant growth in the coming years due to the European Union’s (EU) far-reaching energy policies. These include the REPowerEU* plan, which aims to reduce energy consumption, diversify energy supply, expand renewable energy sources and decrease dependence on fossil fuels by 2030. Moreover, the EU-led Green Deal policy targets significant reductions in carbon emissions by 2030, with further reductions by 2040, to achieve a carbon-neutral society by 2050.
The EU’s energy policies have significantly increased the demand for high-efficiency electrical products, particularly high-efficiency heat pump heating and cooling systems. These systems offer reduced carbon emissions compared to conventional fossil-fuel-driven solutions.
LG’s HVAC solutions, including ultra-efficient heat pumps, are highly competitive due to the company’s advanced core component technology, or core tech. LG develops and manufactures key components such as compressors and motors, essential for air conditioning products and a variety of other appliances. The company also proactively invests in R&D to continuously enhance its industry-leading technologies, including heat exchangers, inverters and heat pumps.
To drive B2B growth and increase management efficacy, LG’s HVAC business is developing a comprehensive local system encompassing all operational areas, from R&D and sales to maintenance and customer service. As part of this initiative, LG has expanded its network of HVAC academies to 62 locations in 43 countries across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia, training over 30,000 HVAC engineers annually.
“Along with developing differentiated HVAC solutions tailored to Europe’s regional climates, our new Air Solution R&D Lab in Frankfurt will support our ongoing global efforts in decarbonization and electrification,” said James Lee, head of the Air Solution Business Unit at LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “LG will continue to strengthen its HVAC leadership in Europe and globally.”

I've seen an older thread on this topic but it doesn't look like anyone found a solution to disabling the screen saver, so I'll try a new one.
On virtually all my LG TV's (I have three OLED's and two LCD), the screen saver interferes with my music app (like Plex, Spotify or Amazon Music). I mainly use Plex for playback of my music which is stored on a central server (NAS) and from the app loaded on a Fire TV stick or cube. After about 20-30 minutes, the album art and other related music information (lyrics, song title, duration, etc) all goes black. If I run Plex (or Spotify) directly on the LG TV via the LG Content store app, the screen saver with fireworks always comes on in about 2 minutes.
I've tried all the different methods to disable the screen saver function including turning off the Timers, Auto Power Off,  HDD Storage, etc. I also tried opening the hidden menus by pressing the mute button 5 times but that menu didn't have anything relevant.
Interesting is that the screen saver doesn't come on when using Spotify on a Fire TV stick or if I playback music through a USB device. But i don't use those methods often, mainly Plex to access my music server where I have about 500 CD's stored in ALAC format.
Has anyone found a way to disable the screen saver function? I know the logic for having it (to prevent OLED burn in) but I'm not leaving the same image on for more than the song duration (about 3-5 minutes).  It's annoying to check the screen for the a music title or see who is on only to find a black screen looking back. Thanks for any help.

      Hello there,
Is it possible to turn off search on the home screen, or filter results to show only apps? Ideally, I'd like to limit content to be appropriate for kids.
