Undefined calendar entryOne bug that has appeared on both webOS phones and the TouchPad is when calendar entries lose any connection with a

, and therefore get assigned to an "undefined" account. As a result of being divorced from a calendar account, you can't just remove the account to delete these items; instead, you would need to manually delete each calendar entry one at a time which is usually not a viable option.  Luckily, Homebrew developer MetaView has been able to build some functionality into his to delete these orphaned calendar entries for you. As long as you are on webOS 2.0 or higher and running version 0.6.3 or higher of AgendaZ, you can swipe down from the top-left to access the Application dropdown menu, select Preferences, and then toggle "Delete Orphaned" to YES in the "AUTO-CLEANUP EVENTS" section. Then, whenever you load up a listing of your calendar events, AgendaZ will delete any events in that timeframe that do not belong to one of your synergy calendar accounts.

If you combine this with the Auto Launch preference of AgendaZ to launch the app every day, you can always be assured that at least the most recently days (or weeks) on your calendar will always be clear of undefined accounts.  You will also see a "Delete Doubles" option that will simply delete any duplicate calendar events that show up across all of your accounts. Unfortunately, there is no way to specify ahead of time which account the event should be deleted from, so be careful using this option.

is available for all devices running webOS 2.0 or higher in the webOS Nation Homebrew Gallery and can be installed using Preware, webOS Quick Install or

In this installment of On the Job, we go inside LG’s Air Science Research Center to get a close and personal look at how researchers are helping to bring better air quality to the home.
What do smoke detectors, smart doorbells and security systems all have in common? They are all ways to make our homes safer. But few consumers think about the safety of the air we breathe at home. Clean air is more important to our health and wellbeing today, with people and families spending more time at home than before social distancing became the status quo. But cooking, cleaning, heating and pets all affect the air we breathe. Consider nearby construction activity, the changing of seasons and passing cars and there are even more factors outside of our control that affect family health. With this in mind, LG is investing even more in research to increase its technological capabilities and to better understand the science behind indoor air quality.

Established in 2018, the LG Air Science Research Center in Seoul is dedicated to the research and development of next-generation core technologies for use in the company’s air care products including air purifiers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers. By analyzing the properties of dust particles, toxic gases and microorganisms that accumulate under different conditions, the lab’s researchers are able to develop more effective methods of cleaning and making the air throughout the home safer for its occupants to breathe.
The Air Science Research Center is divided into three main sections: Home Environment Test Facility, Microorganism Test Facility and Dust and Odor Test Facility. In the Home Environment Test Facility, researchers recreate real-life environments to assess the effectiveness of new air care technologies. The facility houses an enclosed area where the ceiling height and floor space can be adjusted to mimic the interior dimensions of various buildings, from small apartments to large commercial spaces.

The Microorganism Test Facility is where the performance of LG’s air purifiers are put to the test. Here, various microorganisms are dispersed and the effectiveness of each air purifier model’s performance is recorded. At the Dust and Odor Test Facility, the speed and efficacy of the company’s advanced filters on fine dust is measured by introducing dust or gas particles into a sealed test space. The deodorizing capability of LG’s air quality technologies is also tested here. In recognition of its high standards and reliability of its methodology, the LG Air Science Research Center was officially accredited as a national microbiological and fine dust tester by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) this February.

“To help create a better home environment as most of the world was sheltering at home, we introduced PuriCare Air Purifier with special features for coping with pet hair and odors,” said Noh Jin-hee, a specialist at the Air Science Research Center. “We visited pet shops, pet cafes and homes to study the air conditions which we captured as data. We analyzed and used the information to develop the most effective filter and filtration settings for managing the air when living with furry companions.”

To expand the knowledge base and refine research methods related to indoor air quality, LG cooperates and shares its information with other experts and specialists in related fields. Through the efforts of its dedicated researchers and investment in a world-class R&D and testing facility, LG is better able to live up to its reputation as a global air care solution provider to create a more comfortable, pleasant and healthier home for both consumers and their four-legged friends.

In the past 16 months, the face mask has become a necessity – as well as an accessory – worn by billions of people across the globe. While effective, it’s no secret that face masks worn for extended periods of time can get uncomfortable. They fog up eyeglasses, make your jaw sweat more and can restrict airflow when breathing hard, such as during exercise. LG engineers experienced in air purification technologies looked into the challenge of staying safe while minimizing the inconveniences of face masks and have come up with a new personal air solution that is not only more effective than traditional masks, but looks stylish to boot.

The latest iteration of LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier introduces a number of improvements to the earlier beta model. Employing LG’s unique air solution technology, the new PuriCare Wearable delivers enhanced all-around performance with a smaller, lighter, more efficient motor. What hasn’t changed are the reliable LG DUAL fans which control air flow automatically1 by sensing the user’s breathing patterns to make breathing easier and more natural.

Photo Credit: Instagram (@ratchanokmay ) of Ratchanok Intanon, Thai badminton player
The new PuriCare Wearable’s lightweight design makes it easier to wear throughout the day. Weighing in at only 94 grams, the device can be worn comfortably up to 8 hours with its 1,000mA which recharges in two hours with the included Easy Charge USB cable.2 The PuriCare Wearable’s sleek, ergonomic design minimizes air leakage around the nose and chin to create a tight but comfortable seal for hours.

What wearers will appreciate most is the built-in microphone and speaker employing VoiceON technology, no longer requiring users to pull down their mask or raise their voice to carry on a conversation. VoiceON automatically recognizes when users are talking and amplifies their voice through the built-in speaker so listeners don’t have to strain or lean in to hear every word.3

The newest LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier was worn by 120 Thai athletes, coaches and staff as they departed Suvannabhumi Airport Bangkok for the summer games in Tokyo. The device will officially launch in Thailand in August, with other markets to follow once approved by local regulators.

Improved for better breathing with the most advanced wearable technology in the industry, the lighter, slimmer, more advanced PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier will satisfy the needs of everyone seeking maximum convenience and comfort without compromising style and clean air.
Take it from the best athletes in Thailand.
