I am also having problems with playing all content using the Tidal app on my LG C16LA OLED

Yesterday, I sent the E-mail below to Tidal asking what the problem is and when it will be resolved.

"<<<  TIDAL APP FOR LG C1 TELEVISIONS IS BROKEN AND HAS NEVER WORKED PROPERLY SINCE IT WAS RELEASED >>>

Dear Tidal,

As a Tidal HiFi customer I would like to complain about the broken and unusable Tidal app brought out earlier this year for my 55" LG C16LA OLED television.  Please note that this problem seems to be specific to the LG C1 OLED model released in 2021.

Every track selected and played on the Tidal app for my 55" LG C16LA OLED television, and it makes no difference as to which track I select to play, stops playing at exactly 30 seconds before the end of the track.  The sound cuts out and the track cannot be restarted without closing the app and restarting it.  Even after restarting the app, every track selected to play stops playing again at precisely 30 seconds before the end of the track.  This is unacceptable and makes the Tidal app on my 55" LG C16LA OLED television unusable.  The fact that I am paying €19.99 a month for this unusable and broken app is an absolute insult.

A quick look on the internet shows that I am not the only LG C1 television owner experiencing this problem with the shabbily supported and completely broken Tidal app for LG C1 televisions.

Why are all tracks stopping 30 seconds before the end of the track?   I informed Tidal about this problem in June 2021 and, as yet, nothing has been done by Tidal to resolve the issue.

There is no point in asking me to send Tidal a list of tracks that it happens on.  It happens on every single track selected, every time.  Completely uninstalling the app then reinstalling the app has no effect on this behaviour, neither does resetting my entire home network, setting up a static IP for the TV or changing DNS servers.  My television is connected to a stable 300Mbps cable internet connection via a Cat6a ethernet cable and no proxy servers are being used.  The problem also occurs when using either 2.4 or 5Ghz Wi-Fi connections to connect the TV to the internet.

The Tidal app on my 55" LG C1 OLED is the only app that does not function properly.  All other streaming apps work optimally and without a hitch.  This ongoing problem and the non -existent fix from Tidal is certainly no advert for the company.

When will this now ridiculous situation be resolved by Tidal's 'technical experts'?

Regards,"

This is also happening to me on my LG C1 OLED TV. This app is too expensive to have literally every single track stop/pause before finishing.

It's highly frustrating isn't it.  I haven't had a reply from Tidal yet.  When I do I'll post it here.  The current Tidal app on the LG C1 is broken and has never worked properly on my C1.

I have received the reply below from Tidal.  How long it will take them to release any fix is anyones guess.

Looks kinda similar to the answer posted several posts above (Sep 20, 2021), isn't it?

That LG still allows customers to download this already known to be broken Tidal app from the LG App Store is a complete insult.  Tidal should have it's broken and deliberately unfixed, sub-par app immediately removed from the LG App Store.  It's obvious that Tidal either has no interest in fixing it or the company is utterly incompetent at developing properly working apps for LG TV's.  The problems surrounding this app were reported more tha 6 months ago!

Get it fixed or get rid of it.

Guys, it looks that our requests have been heard! My LG65C11 updated Tidal to the latest version - in particular to TODAY'S build: 2022-02-09-30-3042....5502e and after my very initial tests it looks that these issues with cutting songs are finally resolved!

This issue does indeed seem to have been resolved with the update which was released on 9 February 2022.  That said, it should never have taken this amount of time for Tidal to get it's act together and resolve the problem.  The amount of time it's taken Tidal to get an issue it's been aware of for longer than 6 months resolved certainly deserves no praise from it's paying customers.

Hi, I totally agree with you. I had been in talks with them from the day I posted this here. Their support team would constantly ask me for details and I would provide. Until yesterday when they came back with the fix. Unfortunate that it took so long.

Maybe you can try to use Tidal on LG TV offline. To do that, you will need a DRmare Tidal Media Downloader (

link hidden, please login to view
) to download music from Tidal as local files. Then you can move Tidal music to LG TV for play offline. And you can transfer Tidal songs to other devices for use offline.

You can try update the Tidal app on your TV and then restart your TV. If this don't work, you can try using AudFree Tidal Music Downloader

https://www.audfree.com/tidable/

to offline listen to Tidal music on your TV.

I just bought a brand new 55” C2 and the Tidal app is not working. Songs buffer for a few seconds then stop and never play. Eventually the TV goes into screen saved mode. I don’t see any updates available for the app or the tv os. Any tips or suggestions as to how to get it working?

Hello, I know that other LG WebOS users have the same problem as me, but I can't find a solution on the web.
Perhaps one of you experts can help me.
Shortly: manually sort the app icons on my LG Smart TV (OLED77C55LA) and place the “TV Channels” icon in the first position (on the left, to be clear). Before all the others (e.g. Netflix, PlutoTV, Prime, etc.), but when I turn off the TV for a few hours and turn it back on, I find the “TV Channels” icon in last position.
I have tried putting it in second position, third position and so on, but every time I turn it back on, I find it in last position.
      Can anyone help me?
      Thank you.

      Hi!

I own a OLED65C8PUA 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV and it seems to be suddenly freezing when a commercial starts on a LG channel. I've unplugged the TV, hold down the start button, restarted to clean out the cache. I even restarted the whole system where it deletes most of the apps and all your picture and internet settings. Still getting this freeze during ADS between the LG channel presentations (be it the 80's, 90's, Love Boat channels, etc.) Anyone else have this problem? I'm kind of at a loss of what to do next.

We live in a time when connection is easier than ever – or so it seems. With just a few taps, we can talk to someone across the globe. Social platforms let us share our thoughts, lives and moods in real time. AI serves up content tailored to our every preference. In many ways, it’s remarkable. We’ve never been more “connected.”
And yet, something essential still feels missing.
Despite constant digital interaction, we often hesitate to have real, heartfelt conversations – especially with those closest to us. We might send a quick message instead of picking up the phone. Or hold back from expressing deep emotions, unsure how they’ll land in a fast-paced, digital world. The irony is hard to ignore: in this hyperconnected world, emotional disconnection has quietly crept in.

At LG, we believe technology’s true purpose is to bring people closer – not just in terms of convenience, but emotionally. That belief is at the heart of our brand promise: Life’s Good. More than a slogan, it reflects our view that life is better when it’s filled with connection, warmth and optimism.
That’s why we created “Radio Optimism,” our latest global campaign. It began with a simple but important question: What does better connection look like today?

The campaign is built around the enduring power of music – one of humanity’s most universal emotional expressions. A single melody can convey what words cannot. A song can spark joy, recall memories or bring comfort – regardless of language or culture.

By combining that emotional depth with AI, Radio Optimism makes it possible to turn your heartfelt sentiments into music and send it to someone who matters. LG isn’t delivering the message – we’re simply enabling you to share your own, in a deeply human way.
This effort builds on our “Optimism your feed” campaign from last year, where we leveraged social media algorithms to promote positive content based on users’ viewing patterns, spreading optimistic messages in a space often dominated by negativity. This year, we’re taking it a step further by encouraging users to share heartfelt songs that express gratitude, encouragement, and love to their loved ones, aiming to help people experience the essence of Life’s Good even in the digital space.

Because at LG, we don’t just make devices – we create experiences that help build a Better Life for All. That means making space for joy, for kindness and for emotional connection. It means reminding people what makes life truly good.
Whether it’s a parent sending a song to their child far from home, or friends rekindling their bond through shared music, we hope this campaign sparks meaningful moments – bridging distances with the power of music, heartfelt emotions and genuine intentions.
After all, the smallest gestures are often the ones that resonate the most.
And if one song, shared from the heart, helps someone feel more seen, more loved, more connected – then that’s the kind of impact we believe in.

LG’s New Campaign Leverages Music – the Universal Language – to Foster
Deeper Connections and Expand the Life’s Good Promise in Digital Spaces

SEOUL, June 24, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) today launched a new brand campaign, “Radio Optimism,” designed to help strengthen meaningful human connections and spread optimism through shared musical experiences. This initiative aligns with LG’s brand promise, “Life’s Good,” and addresses the growing challenge of forming genuine relationships in a technology-driven world.
The Radio Optimism campaign seeks to counteract the disconnection often felt in an era dominated by superficial interactions, such as likes and comments on social media. By harnessing the power of music, LG aims to foster deeper bonds among individuals, promoting a more fulfilling life.
“As technology advances, meaningful human connections become increasingly vital to enrich our lives. LG continues its commitment to bringing optimism into customers’ daily lives, staying true to our enduring brand promise of ‘Life’s Good,’” said Kim Hyo-eun, head of LG’s Brand Management Division.
This campaign reinforces LG’s commitment to creating enriching experiences in digital spaces where today’s consumers spend significant time. Building on this mission, LG has continuously engaged with younger audiences through participatory campaigns that bring the Life’s Good philosophy to life. Last year’s “Optimism your feed” campaign leveraged social algorithms to foster positivity on social media. This new initiative specifically seeks to address the paradoxical disconnection in an era of hyper-connectivity.
“One of the most reliable predictors of happiness is having deep and meaningful relationships,” said Jean M. Twenge, Professor of Psychology at San Diego State University. “Yet today, many people are spending more time online and less time connecting in person. Social media in particular tends to create shallow relationships rather than the deep connections people need. It’s common for people to have hundreds of followers but no one to talk to in real life if they need support. We need to build more meaningful connections with those around us. That might turn around the pronounced decline in happiness that’s occurred over the last decade.”
A new global study* from LG on social connection reveals that 68 percent of people find it harder to make real friends, and a third reported having one or fewer meaningful connections in the past month, with 8 percent experiencing none at all. Inspired by traditional radio’s unique way of connecting people through music and storytelling, the Radio Optimism campaign transforms this concept into an interactive platform where participants can create and send personalized songs to their loved ones. Users can easily create new songs using AI-powered tools, which are thoroughly trained on a curated music dataset. These tools interpret user prompts to produce unique musical pieces and generate matching album art, providing an engaging and personalized experience. Once generated, these songs can be sent to recipients to deepen their connection and made available for others to discover worldwide.
According to the survey, nearly 9 in 10 respondents believe that meaningful connections lead to a more optimistic outlook on life. By providing a platform for individuals to express their feelings, this campaign aims to foster deeper connections and help individuals enrich their lives while spreading optimism in their own ways.
The campaign website is available in English and Spanish, with plans to support additional languages in the coming months to enable broader participation. The official website can be found at
