WiFi not working on Software Version 06.00.15

puma99dk

Question

Hi,

I got 2 LG smart TV's running Software Version 06.00.15 and after this update WiFi has stopped working and the WiFi in both TV's will only stay connected when I am in All settings-->Network-->Wi-Fi Connection and the TV's are also feeling really slow in the menu but the moment I plug in a ethernet cable and disable WiFi everything works and the menu is smooth so I believe there is something up with this software version.

I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max, Laptop and some other devices on WiFi no issues at all.

The TV in the living room is a LG 49UJ701V the one in my bed room is a LG 55UK6100PLB.

Anyone got a suggestion I can try? I do not want to reset them because I do not want to calibrate them both again it's a pain.

What WiFi settings are you using?

I am running af Asus RT-AC88U with Merlin firmware at the moment and both my LG TV's acted the same way after this software update so I am curious to hear what channel and frequency is the most optical for LG smart tv's to use.

Because I cannot find that much information searching around the internet only that people do have problems but not a general solution on how to fix it without using a cable.

This goes for all software versions.

Thank @murattkn3

But this evening when using cable the Plex app on my LG 55UK6100PLB refused to connect works fine for Samsung smart tv, Apple, Android and Windows users.

What is really going on with this bad software???

I could read that downgrading the software to the previous version ain't easy.

I have spend like an hour resting the plex app, reinstalling it and so on still the same playback error and when I play the same contain that has worked before on this tv it runs fine so there is something fishy with this software.

I am facing the same issue, did some basic stuff like updating date/time, turning off quick start, etc... worked for almost a week without issues, however into the same issue again and nothing is helping.

Any luck fixing?

Sadly no luck, and I am not reseting my router.

For my TV in the bedroom I have ran a ethernet cable and disable WiFi it's weird because it starts up faster and is faster to response on the first boot.

My TV in the living room works from time to time on WiFi but I am planning to do some changes to  soon moving around my Asus RT-AC88U router to another place and run one or 2 more cables from it.

I do also have a LG UBK90 blu-ray player region free blu-ray it also connects fine to WiFi together with my PS3 and PS4.

I been searching for something ever since I made this post and I have might found what works for me with my router.

I have created a guest network on 2.4GHz only with the following setting:

Authentication methed: WPA-Auto-Personal

WPA Encryption:: AES

Access Time: Unlimited access

Access Intranet: Enable

After typing in my weird password I used my TV connected no flacky connection even the Plex app just works.

I got the idea from this youtube video from 2014.

Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHjl19VS5cI

The uploader uses 5GHz but this didn't work for me so I tested 2.4GHz this works like a clam and one warning do not create 2 guest networks with the same SSID for both the 2.4GHz & 5GHz because LG tv's cannot figure this out.

I also noted that on my normal network my LG 49UJ701V couldn't always keep the DNS Server it would go blank almost all the time even with a manual address it would still not connect 99% of the time so I guess this is a WebOS issue because my iphone, laptop and other devices with wifi doesn't have this problem, I am just glad it looks like I have managed to fix this for now so now starts the long term testing.

Asking this hear, since I could not seem to find a better place... Wake on LAN only works for a few minutes after TV is turned off?  If I turn of LG TV (WebOS 8.x) and then send a Wake on LAN (WoL) packet, it works.  If turn off the LG TV, then I wait about 15 minutes or so, then send the same WoL sequence, using the same code, script, etc., it fails, the LG TV never turns on.  THe LG TV is configured both for wired ethernet (preferred) and WiFi.  Any idea why this behavior?  It almost seems like the LG TV goes into standby, via phone app, remote, even CEC, etc., then drops from the network?  Mobile is enabled on the TV, hence the phone app works.  Why would the LG TV stop responding to WoL packets?

Brand new LG TV (WebOS 8x) WILL NOT stay off when turned off with the remote?  Out of the box, connected to internet, seems to have been updated, and working fine.  But when I hit the power off with the remote, the TV reports 'Life is Good' seems to turn off, i.e. go into standby, and then a few seconds later, turns back on.  If the device connected to the TV on the last active HDMI port is OFF, I get the No Signal warning.  So I know the active HDMI input is not generating any signal.  I want to believe that any other device on any other HDMI port might be an issue? But then the TV would switch to that HDMI port, no?  This is really an issue!  If I use the phone app I can turn off the TV and it seems to stay off, at least does not come back on in a few seconds like the remote?  If I send 'standby' via HDMI-CEC, that seems to work as well, the TV seems to stay in standby mode.  This a bug?

      Hi,
      New user on here.
I bought this new TV last week and it is honestly driving me bananas.
When I click "Home" after using an App, etc, it brings me to the WebOS interface but then automatically selects the last used device (e.g. Fire stick, LG Channels, etc) despite me not wanting it to.
Is it possible to disable this, i.e. "Home" brings me to WebOS and stays there? I'm sure its a setting etc which I'm missing.
Device is LG UQ91 43 inch 4K Smart UHD TV, pretty sure its all up to date.
      Thanks in advance.

Smart remote constantly disconnects. I’ve pushed home and back button and when trying to setup remote receive error message “Bluetooth service needs to be inialized”
Ive tried everything suggested on the internet to include turning off tv waiting 15,30,60 seconds and trying again. Eventually it will reset up but then will will disconnect. Extremely frustrating and tv is really unusable when this happens. The worst is getting into a streaming app and the remote fails and can’t get out without turning tv off. I would list tv model # but since I started this message remote has disconnected again. Help very much appreciated
      thx

Hi I have an OLED A2 48” 4k, which doesn’t have an aerial but is connected to WiFi. All the streaming services are working fine, but my understanding (From Freeview website) is that the TV guide should be populated with a live Freeview TV schedule that , if you click on a live broadcast, opens it up in the relevant app. E.g. BBC, ITVX, 4 etc.
There are a couple of BBC IP channels showing, which play without opening the apps but nothing else.
      Any ideas?
I have the Freeview App on my phone which does exactly what I was expecting above.
