Question

My android phone screen is casting otherwise ok in my LG WebOS smart TV but the content apps(Zee5, VODAFONEplay, Sonyliv, Flipkart video) are not casting. Whenever I open the app and try to play a video screen casted on TV, the TV screen is only showing the phone notification bar and rest is blank. Only youtube is casting full screen as it has built in screen cast icon on the app screen itself.

 
Anyone knowing what to do may please help. Pairing is OK from TV to phone.

@Surojit Bhattacharjee I beleive that the issue is due to DRM (Digital Rights Management), that blocks Copyrighted material being outputted to external devices. The YouTube app seems to be OK and has less problems with copyright, and so has a "safe" cast option by the sound of it. Others (especially the Sony products and the others) have to make sure that users are not violating the terms of use, by blocking  outputs to "other" devices that could potentially record copyrighted material to "sell on for profit".

      I used 6000 hours. All four corners start to have struck pixels, this is very disappointing us after spending INR 1,00,000. I am sure this should have been tested products for such high value. How would I customer will recommend LG Smart TV for family and friends if the product manufacturing is not worth the money spent on?

      Below are the details of my model and OS information.  With this version, there is no support for Sony LIV and voot app. It will be beneficial if such apps are also provided.

      Hello,
      We are a company developing streaming apps for our customers. As-to enhance developer / tester / any other teams experience into LG universe, and be able to quickly test any environments we have (dev / staging / production), we'd like to be able to install apps that aren't removed after Developer Mode expires, or aren't visible/listed to the public store.
      We looked upon the idea to extend Developer Mode session with a Crontab with specific accounts for each TV, but some TVs are stopping the Developer Mode when being powered down, so it doesn't seem the most industrialised idea.
      Let me know what we can do to answer that issue !

      Found multiplex application that use letsencrypt stop working in 30 September 2021 on LG WebOS 3.5. This appear to be wide spread multiplex version of WEBOS.

      Our current app is available on 4K/UHD LG television models running the following system software:
      webOS 3.0 webOS 3.5 webOS 4.0 webOS 5.0 No 720p or 1080p (“full HD”) sets are supported for our current app at this time.
      Note: Due to root certificate limitations with the device OS itself, only webOS 5.0+ devices support secure connections with a personal Plex Media Server. To allow connections to a personal server, devices running earlier webOS versions must be set to Allow Insecure Connections in the TV app settings and the Plex Media Server must be set to Preferred for the Secure Connections preference.

      I want to be able to turn on my TV without it automatically launching a cable channel. ( or repeatedly asking me if I want to turn on the cable box).  Is there any way to "just' start with the home screen? Also when I've been watching something (app or cable) and go back to Home screen, it will go back to what I was watching if there is no input for a minute or so. grrrr. so annoying
