EG9600 Firmware Update

ERIC.

Question

The WebOS on my EG9600 recently updated to firmware 04.26.00 and now the picture quality is unwatchable, it reminds me of a picture with bad reception.   It’s not just the live tv but also Netflix looks looks just as bad.

I’ve opened up a case with LG but no resolution yet.  I wish that I could just downgrade the firmware to see if that is what caused the issue.

Hello Eric,

I have the same problem here in The Netherlands. The update was pushed and nothing first seem to be wrong. What I have noticed is that my Apple TV 4K device was not able to get into 1010p or 4K anymore. First I thought it was a problem with the device itself. I have cleared the Apple TV and restored everything back to default. Then I searched trough my receiver because the Apple TV 4K is connected there, could not find any answer.

I called three days ago with LG The Netherlands support, I have made a case and now calling them three days in a row, the guy from Technical assistant was checking his firmware that they standard bring out for you to download, its not matching our firmware update version. No answer back from LG at this moment and they can't give me any sign when they start solving this problem. The discussion is that technical support is very busy due to holiday season. I have tried to reach different levels within LG to get a reaction back, no answer. You see they automatically pushed the firmware to you, my TV and maybe even more people with this problem. I hope they fix this very soon, because they made our TV's bricked now with problems. They advised me to to manually get back or install a different firmware version, because you might get even more difficulties. Maybe they just made a mistake and pushed beta version into live consumer production? - they are very busy at LG right now to get the airplay 2 into the new OLED tv's and earlier models like we have and, who knows our firmware corresponds with this version.

I hope a lot of people start to complain at LG about this firmware issue, this needs to be solved, this WEBOS firmware is not good and effecting the hardware.

Cheers

Ray

Up until a few days ago my TV and AVR have been working perfectly since I bought it.
Zero hassles with HDMI and connectivity.
Then I was prompted to update to the latest software version which I did and now often when I switch HDMI (running on 1) it picks up the device name, CEC works but I get “No Signal”… and then nothing.
Just stays on “No Signal”. It is almost as if some HDMI handshake breaks and now the driver is in a broken state.
I’ve found that if I hard power off and power on the device sometimes works but I don’t want to do that every time especially since it’s hard to get to the power.
This really strikes me as a software issue with the latest update as absolutely nothing else has changed in my setup.
      I’ve tried:
Different HDMI cables (high quality) Deep colour settings Reset the TV to factory default Different HDMI ports TV
      Model: OLED65G26LA / OLED65G26LA.HFBQLWK WebOS TV Version: 8.3.0.2301 Software Version: 13.30.56 AVR & Devices
Marantz SR5015 Nvidia Shield Pro PS5
The setup is the conventional AVR installation as shown in the attached file

      Has anyone else experienced this?
Is it possible to revert the software update?

I received an update 05.40.45 for my LG 65UM7510PLA TV a few days ago. After I tried to edit the channel list with the ChanSort programme, I noticed that the channel list transferred from the TV to USB was greatly reduced.
This was not a problem with the previous version 05.40.20. Unfortunately, it is not possible to upload the old version via USB.

As above! All4 & My5 will no longer work. Also, how do you update the browser? My LG nano TV is just over 3 years old.

I would like to update the OS on a relatively old TV (manufactured in 2015). So there are questions: how to find your version, where to download a new one and check its compatibility with my TV?

On LG OLEDs. You go on and disable SIMPLINK. Fine. But everytime you turn on your HDMI device it enables itself back again. This happens because they have disables two key features that were present in previous OSs, as you can see clearly here
link hidden, please login to view (they even put screencaps of the menus where you see the missing options in the 23) These functions are Auto Power Sync and Auto Device Detection.
Man updates are supposed to add functionalities not the other way around. It's very annoying to turn on your TV and have your AVR turn on without you wanting to.

Anyone found a solution for this problem?
