In London’s Thriving Art Season, Se Ok’s Ink Abstraction Comes Alive on
LG OLED TVs, While LG Engages Artists via Partnership With National Gallery
SEOUL, Oct. 16, 2025 — Amid the energy of Frieze London 2025, LG Electronics (LG) celebrates the abstract artistry of Se Ok Suh (1929–2020), a pioneer of modern Korean ink abstraction. At Frieze London 2025, this visionary artist’s abstract ink paintings are reinterpreted by his sons, Do Ho Suh and Eul Ho Suh, as an inspiring digital art experience on LG OLED TVs.
To translate Se Ok Suh’s artistic vision from ink painting to digital art experience, renowned contemporary artist Do Ho Suh, and visionary architect Eul Ho Suh, closely collaborated to create an immersive spatial arrangement. LG OLED TVs provide the ideal digital canvas to present their vision. Through this partnership, Do Ho gives new life to the beauty and radical inventiveness of Se Ok Suh’s “People” series, animating marks that explore the philosophical relationship between humanity and infinite space.
Presented across multiple LG SIGNATURE OLED T transparent TV and OLED evo TVs, the black ink abstract works are rendered through overlapping video animations, drawing viewers into a compelling narrative that captures the meditative flow of Se Ok Suh’s ink paintings. The innovative capabilities of LG’s transparent OLED screens create a visually striking and immersive experience that will captivate viewers, highlighting the layered interplay and refined lines of Se Ok Suh’s brushwork. The perfect black facilitated by LG’s self-lit OLED technology brings out the depth and subtlety of every stroke in astonishing detail.
Extending the creative energy sparked by Frieze London across the city’s vibrant art scene, the story behind the project, showcased at Frieze London, will be elaborated for the wider art community at the National Gallery in London. A special event will enable wider reflection on this intergenerational collaboration and the inspiration Do Ho Suh drew from his father’s work in this reinterpretation.
LG recently began the journey of its partnership with the National Gallery, one of the world’s favorite art destinations, reflecting its commitment to nurturing contemporary artists and their work. As the National Gallery’s Modern and Contemporary Art Partner, LG supports current and upcoming artist projects and relationships with other cultural institutions at the intersection of art and technology.
“My father often spoke of the infinite universe and space in his work, while he was painting,” said Do Ho Suh. “When I witnessed the moment the LG OLED screen became transparent, it felt as if a two-dimensional picture was transformed into three-dimensional space, revealing the space behind the painting that has been invisible until now.”
“This exhibition is a meaningful opportunity to share the legacy of Se Ok Suh’s work, digitally reimagined by Do Ho Suh and Eul Ho Suh for Frieze London,” said Kate Oh, head of Experiential Marketing at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “During London Art week, we are excited to take part in projects and events with the cultural partners including National Gallery in London and Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK) to support artists and inspire art lovers and the wider art community across London.”
During Frieze London 2025, LG and the KCCUK are also hosting K-Art Lab, an interactive exhibition exploring the dialogue between Korean heritage and contemporary creativity. At the event, Se Ok Suh’s reimagined works are showcased on LG’s 83-inch OLED TV, providing visitors a deeply engaging visual experience.
Visitors to Frieze London 2025 can explore LG’s latest OLED TVs and Se Ok Suh’s artwork, reinterpreted by his sons, in The Regent’s Park from October 15 to 19.
LG OLED TVs continue to inspire new forms of artistic expression through the integration of art and technology, creating innovative ways to experience creativity in the digital age. To learn more about LG’s latest collaborations and initiatives, visit

Services to Deliver Continuous Upgrades and Proactive Maintenance
SEOUL, Sep. 1, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is ushering in a new era in the European smart home appliance market with the introduction of its groundbreaking AI platform, LG ThinQ AI. Taking center stage at the company’s IFA 2025 exhibit, LG ThinQ AI integrates the ThinQ UP and ThinQ Care services to provide a personalized, ever-evolving customer experience along with proactive appliance management. This innovative platform advances LG’s core product technologies through AI and usage data analysis, optimizing the product experience and enhancing customers’ overall quality of life. LG will begin rolling out ThinQ AI in key European markets throughout September.
With AI-powered features such as continuous, tailored upgrades and intelligent performance optimization based on user behavior, LG ThinQ AI redefines home living, elevates the overall smart appliance experience and reinforces LG’s leadership in the European AI home solutions market.
A core element of the platform, ThinQ UP enables compatible appliances to acquire new features via software updates, ensuring they remain up-to-date and relevant to customers’ ever-changing lifestyles. Complementing this, ThinQ Care provides proactive support that predicts potential malfunctions or issues before they occur. Drawing on extensive usage data, its smart diagnostics detect even minor issues and guide customers through simple solutions, boosting product reliability and peace of mind.
ThinQ AI also reflects the priorities of Europe’s discerning, eco-conscious consumers, with a focus on energy efficiency and ease of use. For washing machines, Energy Saving Mode helps lower household energy consumption, while refrigerators benefit from AI Saving Mode, which intelligently reduces power use. Convenience-driven features include Fresh Keeper, which prevents clothes left in the washer from wrinkling or smelling, and the tub clean reminder to maintain hygiene. Refrigerator functions include Night View, which adjusts display brightness at night, and the Smart Fill system, allowing the water dispenser to deliver precisely pours. Users can even reconfigure the built-in ice dispenser to serve as an additional water dispenser, providing greater flexibility.
Moving forward, LG plans to deliver a steady flow of region-specific ThinQ UP features inspired by customer feedback. Through the Share Your Ideas function in the ThinQ app, users can propose new features that may be developed into real updates. Following the European rollout this month, LG will gradually expand ThinQ UP service availability worldwide throughout the rest of the year.
At IFA 2025, LG will showcase a diverse range of appliances enhanced with ThinQ AI and tailored for European consumers. Harmonious and differentiated smart home lifestyle scenes will demonstrate how the company’s latest innovations seamlessly elevate everyday living. Visitors can engage with an interactive demo app to explore how ThinQ UP lets customers continuously upgrade their LG appliances. LG AI HOME zone presents the company’s Zero Labor Home, where ThinQ AI recognizes user’s voice and activates personalized appliance settings to provide a highly personalized home experience.
“Our innovative ThinQ AI platform offers differentiated convenience and efficiency through continuous upgrades and intelligent, proactive care,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “We are committed to creating an AI home experience that evolves in step with the unique needs of every customer.”
ThinQ AI and an array of innovative home appliance solutions will be on show at LG’s IFA 2025 exhibition booth (Hall 18, Messe Berlin) in Berlin, Germany, from September 5-9.

LG is constantly working to make everyday life more convenient, comfortable and connected. At the heart of this effort is LG ThinQ, our AI-powered platform that connects and controls smart appliances using the latest in AI and IoT technology. With the ThinQ app, managing and upgrading your home appliances has never been easier – all from your smartphone, no matter where you are.
ThinQ is all about personalized experiences. It learns from how you use your appliances and adapts to your lifestyle, helping you enjoy a more seamless, connected home. Built into LG’s home appliance lineups worldwide, ThinQ has taken a major leap forward with the introduction of ThinQ UP – a service designed to evolve your appliances long after you bring them home.
Launched in 2022, ThinQ UP introduced one of the world’s first truly upgradeable home solutions. That means you can add new features to your existing LG products by simply downloading updates through the ThinQ app. Whether it’s enhancing performance, solving a minor frustration or meeting a new need, ThinQ UP makes it easy to customize your appliances as your life changes.
ThinQ UP is now available across more product categories and has expanded its reach globally. In North America, this year’s expansion led to a 150 percent increase in sales compared to 2024. Globally, ThinQ UP features have been downloaded over 20 million times, and the number of appliances connected to the ThinQ app has grown by about 40 percent, showing just how popular this innovation has become.
What really sets ThinQ UP apart is how it’s shaped by you, our customers. Through the “Share Your Ideas” feature in the app, users can suggest new upgrade ideas. So far, we have reviewed more than 30,000 suggestions, with over 100 of them becoming real downloadable features. One example is the “Welcome Light On/Off” function, which lets you control your refrigerator’s door light – a response to users who found the auto-on light a bit too bright at night or unnecessary during the day.
ThinQ UP also adapts to local needs. In the U.S., for example, the “Auto Time Sync” feature for ovens automatically updates the clock for daylight savings time – a simple change, but one that over 57 percent of U.S. ThinQ users have already downloaded and appreciated.
Looking ahead, LG plans to roll out ThinQ UP to even more markets, starting with Europe and expanding to Asia and Latin America. The goal is simple: bring smarter, more personalized living to more homes around the world.
At LG, we believe innovation works best when it’s shaped by real people and real lives. With your feedback and our AI-powered technology, ThinQ UP will keep evolving – making your home smarter, more adaptable and more in tune with your life.

Company Redefines In-Vehicle Experience With Smart Home Solutions Delivering
Tailored Mobility Experiences
SEOUL, April 3, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is presenting the Spielraum concept car in collaboration with Kia at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, taking place at KINTEX in Ilsan, Korea, from April 3-13. This partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, aims to seamlessly combine LG’s AI-driven smart life solutions with Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) technology, creating a distinctive mobility space experience.
Through this partnership, LG and Kia seek to enhance the PBV experience, transforming everyday mobility into a seamless and convenient lifestyle extension. Integrated LG appliances – such as a refrigerator, air conditioner and Styler – allow users to transform their vehicle into a mobile office or studio.
Debuting at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, the Spielraum Studio and Spielraum Glow cabin concepts demonstrate how users can customize their vehicle space to fit their unique lifestyles. Spielraum Studio, designed for entrepreneurs who travel frequently and need both workspace and storage, features LG’s modular Styler, smart mirror and a coffee machine – all optimized for the interior of the PV5, Kia’s first dedicated PBV. AI-powered personalized assistance further enhances convenience, offering optimized clothing care settings based on the user’s schedule.
Catering to a different lifestyle, the Spielraum Glow cabin targets the rising trend of car picnics and camping. Equipped with LG’s refrigerator, Lightwave oven and wine cellar, it elevates outdoor experiences with next-level convenience. Additionally, all integrated appliances feature MoodUP panels, allowing users to customize their space with dynamic color options that match their preferences.
At the heart of the Spielraum concept is the LG ThinQ ON, an AI-powered home hub that provides highly personalized experiences. By leveraging generative AI, it enables interactive conversations, optimal control of in-vehicle appliances and efficient schedule management. Beyond providing useful information such as weather and traffic updates, the system can connect to external services, including food delivery, laundry and restaurant reservations.
Expanding the boundaries of AI-driven living based on the company’s vision of Affectionate Intelligence, LG introduced the LG Mobility Experience (MX) platform at CES 2025. This approach extends AI’s role beyond residential spaces into everyday environments such as commercial and mobility spaces, creating personalized spaces for work, relaxation and entertainment. By seamlessly connecting mobility with AI home solutions, LG is redefining how people interact with their surroundings, offering multifunctional and adaptive living spaces.
“We are excited and proud to bring our advanced AI space solutions to the PBV mobility market through this collaboration with Kia,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “This collaboration provides an important opportunity to expand LG Electronics’ ‘AI Space Solution,’ serving as a stepping stone to create new AI-powered lifestyle experiences beyond the home, across mobility and other everyday spaces”.

Company Enhances Smart Home Connectivity With Open API
SEOUL, Dec. 17, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) has fully opened the Application Programming Interface (API) of its smart home platform, LG ThinQ, enabling developers to easily create smart spaces with LG appliances.
Recently, LG launched the LG Smart Solution API Developer website (
link hidden, please login to view) to officially open up the LG ThinQ API. An API acts as a digital connector that allows different software to exchange functions seamlessly. Developers can utilize the open API to integrate various features from LG AI appliances into their programs or systems, enhancing their services. The LG ThinQ API is divided into two categories: the ThinQ API for individual users and the ThinQ Business API for corporate partners. The ThinQ API allows for remote control of LG devices installed in homes or buildings and facilitates integration with various platforms.
For individual users, the ThinQ API supports the control and monitoring of AI appliances registered in the LG ThinQ app from various smart home platforms. By utilizing the ThinQ API, anyone can easily create a customized smart home that fits their lifestyle. For example, users of the global smart home platform Home Assistant can now connect and control 26 types of LG AI appliances, including refrigerators and washing machines, within their existing smart home environment. Home Assistant is a community-based open platform with about one million users worldwide who collaboratively develop various smart home functions such as device automation and feature expansion.
For enterprises, the ThinQ Business API supports partners operating office or residential buildings in integrating and managing various LG products, from appliances to commercial equipment like HVAC and signage, with their existing apps. For instance, large residential buildings can integrate LG appliances with their existing management apps for more convenient use. Residents can reserve the use of LG washers and dryers in common areas through the building management app, or administrators can detect abnormal conditions in the building using LG’s temperature and humidity sensors and quickly respond to issues through alert functions.
Meanwhile, LG has accelerated the integration of external products and services into the LG ThinQ platform by acquiring the smart home platform company Athom, known for its extensive IoT device connectivity. Athom’s smart home hub Homey currently connects over 50,000 types of appliances and IoT devices, and the Athom app store features around 1,000 apps that connect and control products and services from global brands like Philips and Aqara. LG plans to integrate Athom’s extensive open ecosystem and IoT device connectivity into the AI home hub LG ThinQ On, aiming to realize an AI home where generative AI better understands customers and provides optimal space solutions.
“With the official launch of ThinQ AI, we aim to deepen engagement with open-source community smart home power users in the open-source community and broaden our collaboration with B2B partners. This initiative will bolster our efforts to create smart home ecosystems powered by LG appliances, enhancing customer experiences across multiple touchpoints,” said Kim Kun-woo, vice president of LG’s Home Appliance Solution Company.
