If you are talking about the awesome mxplayer android app, that would be a great addition but you would have to ask the app devs to make a webOS version as its not compatible with android (linux is only thing they share really)....

Mx player app is not available for webos and cant be installed from any external source since the tv is not an android tv. As per the email communication from mx team, the mx tv app (not media player ,mx ott app)will be  available in india soon.

So basically I just got a new LG OLED TV (55 inch C5) and my Dad's C4 was seemingly able to display internal or embedded subtitles in TV shows through the built-in media player from external USB storage just fine with some tinkering in the menus.
But with mine, the subtitles are displaying all of the raw text in the subtitle files in the player, not using the arguments properly at all.
      Pictures included for reference

Is there any way to fix this other than literally doing subtitles for every episode externally, in a seperate file?
These subtitles work fine when I play from the exact same storage device on my phone through VLC, and again on my Dad's LG TV

      Hi Everyone,
i purchase qned706a i found a great tv and picture quality its awesome i know its not like oled but for me its more than enough, but i have one issue with it.
i got LG based on my previews experience with my brother tv its a nanocell lg from 2017, it's media player able to run all movie without any issue, i was shocked that my 2025 tv won't able to run DTS audio, i mange to add another audio track to my move as EAC3 its working perfect, but what's drive me crazy is that some video file MKV don't work at all  showing me "this file cannot be recognised. and its working on the 2017 model without issue ! why is that DTS have some license issue ok but i don't call a video file have license too the video track shows HEVC (H265 Main 10 @L5.1), i try same video on samsung tv and it work on it i don't know why lg don't support it !
finally i try check other media player app and it seem lg don't support such app, and i read about Kodi app and i try it on dev mode but i didn't like it and the experience wasn't perfect i have some greenish pixel, but it was able to run the video and even run file with DTS audio, which take me to my final question.
if Kodi manage to run the video and audio fine, why LG media player didn't, and if its about license why they not allowed 3rd party app like VLC to publish their software !!
i hope LG focus on user experience and not nonsense AI that no one will use.

Company to Present Strategy for Redefining the In-Cabin Experience and Reveal
Landmark Collaborations That Expand Its Automotive Content Ecosystem

SEOUL, Aug. 19, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG), a leading innovator in mobility technology, is set to present its forward-thinking vision for future mobility at IAA MOBILITY 2025 in Munich, Germany, this September. Recognized as the world’s leading platform for mobility, technology and sustainability, IAA MOBILITY brings together global leaders across industries. Key themes at this year’s event include the software-defined vehicle (SDV), AI, connectivity and smart infrastructure.
During the exhibition, LG will host a special session titled “Redefining the In-Cabin Experience: Why the Automotive Content Ecosystem Matters.” The session will begin with an opening speech from Eun Seok-hyun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution (VS) Company, who will outline LG’s strategic vision for the future of the in-cabin experience and the growing role of its Automotive Content Platform (ACP).
LG ACP powered by webOS plays a central role in realizing the company’s SDV vision by bringing home entertainment experiences into the vehicle. During the event, LG will preview significant new developments in its content ecosystem, enabled by strategic collaborations with global leaders in digital entertainment and communication. These initiatives mark a key step toward redefining the vehicle as a content-centric, connected environment.
The speech will be followed by a panel discussion where Mr. Eun will be joined by Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG’s Media Entertainment Solution Company, and executives from LG’s newly-announced strategic partners. The conversation will delve into how these collaborations are reshaping in-vehicle content experiences, enhancing user engagement for both drivers and passengers and unlocking new value for automakers through integrated services.
“LG has long been recognized for enriching everyday life through its innovative consumer electronics,” said Mr. Eun. “Now, we’re bringing that same expertise to mobility, transforming vehicles into immersive, experience-rich environments. Together with our partners, we’re accelerating the creation of a rich and scalable content ecosystem for the coming era of the experience-defined vehicle.”
LG’s lecture session, “Redefining the In-Cabin Experience: Why the Automotive Content Ecosystem Matters,” is scheduled for September 9 at 11:00 AM (CEST) on the Summit Stage in Hall B2 at Trade Fair Center Messe München. For more information, please visit the official

My LG TV : Model 75UM7000PLA
      The Problem:
When I want to use my wireless optical headphones, I switch the TV “Sound Out” option to “Optical” or “Internal TV Speaker + Optical.” But when I do this, the TV sends a command to the Yamaha receiver that forces it to switch its input to Optical. This stops playback of my HDMI device connected to the Yamaha because the Yamaha input is changed.

      What I would like:
Can LG update the TV firmware so that:
1️⃣ When I select “Optical” or “Internal TV Speaker + Optical” in “Sound Out,” it does not cause the Yamaha receiver to switch its input source?
      OR
2️⃣ Add a new “Sound Out” option that sends audio to Optical without sending a command to change the Yamaha input?
      OR
3️⃣ Make the existing “Internal TV Speaker” mode also output audio through Optical, but without causing the Yamaha input to switch?

      Note:
Disabling ARC is not a good solution because:

Audio from devices connected to the Yamaha receiver still plays on both TV and Yamaha speakers.

Audio from devices connected to the TV no longer plays on the Yamaha speakers.

      Thank you!
