Hello!

Videoplayer on my TV OLED55C6V has two modes of folders content display: as a list of files with detailed information and thumbnail and as a previews of files with big cover and file name.

My DLNA-storage contains a cover for each movie file. A cover has the same file name with its movie except of jpg-extension. As I know DLNA-server provides two variants of each picture - full size original picture and downscaled thumbnail (160x160 on MiniDLNA and it is hardcoded). And when I browse the folders of DLNA-storage on my TV I can see covers in list mode and in preview mode. And they looks like something dreadful on my TV because as I discovered TV videoplayer takes a thumbnail from DLNA-server (160x160 max in my case) and crops it to aspect ratio 4x3 and upscales it for showing as a thumbnail or as a cover. Actual displayed cover size in the second case is about 400x300 or even more on UHD-display, so a resulting picture looks like Minecraft.

But, for example, Windows Mediaplayer displays covers from DLNA properly taking a full size picture (not a thumbnail) and downscaling it to required actual size if necessary.

Is there any method to make TV use full size picture and downscale it properly for thumbnail and for cover separately or to do something else at all for seeing nice and smooth thumbnails and covers during DLNA folders browsing on UHD-display?

Thank you in advance

After all I have discovered that DLNA-client on TV takes a picture thumbnail from DLNA-server and scales it to 330x243 (list item size for the list view mode) or to bigger size for preview mode. The problem is that DLNA-client takes the first thumbnail out of all options provided by DLNA-server despite of the second one has native size for the particular view mode on TV.

So basically I just got a new LG OLED TV (55 inch C5) and my Dad's C4 was seemingly able to display internal or embedded subtitles in TV shows through the built-in media player from external USB storage just fine with some tinkering in the menus.
But with mine, the subtitles are displaying all of the raw text in the subtitle files in the player, not using the arguments properly at all.
      Pictures included for reference

Is there any way to fix this other than literally doing subtitles for every episode externally, in a seperate file?
These subtitles work fine when I play from the exact same storage device on my phone through VLC, and again on my Dad's LG TV

      Hi there,

I have an LG smart TV OLED65G36LA (LG OS v03.20.17, webOS TV version 8.20.0-710) , and the Prime Video App was no longer able to update (from Dec 2025) and therefore could no longer be used.
I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing, and that was unable to work, so then applied a full reset on the LG TV and so had to reinstall all of my other apps (Apple TV, Netflix, etc etc) which all successfully downloaded so confirmed network connections and setup are all confirmed working.
When I try to download the Prime Video app, it remains stuck on the download screen and is unable to update.
      Thanks

      Hi Everyone,
i purchase qned706a i found a great tv and picture quality its awesome i know its not like oled but for me its more than enough, but i have one issue with it.
i got LG based on my previews experience with my brother tv its a nanocell lg from 2017, it's media player able to run all movie without any issue, i was shocked that my 2025 tv won't able to run DTS audio, i mange to add another audio track to my move as EAC3 its working perfect, but what's drive me crazy is that some video file MKV don't work at all  showing me "this file cannot be recognised. and its working on the 2017 model without issue ! why is that DTS have some license issue ok but i don't call a video file have license too the video track shows HEVC (H265 Main 10 @L5.1), i try same video on samsung tv and it work on it i don't know why lg don't support it !
finally i try check other media player app and it seem lg don't support such app, and i read about Kodi app and i try it on dev mode but i didn't like it and the experience wasn't perfect i have some greenish pixel, but it was able to run the video and even run file with DTS audio, which take me to my final question.
if Kodi manage to run the video and audio fine, why LG media player didn't, and if its about license why they not allowed 3rd party app like VLC to publish their software !!
i hope LG focus on user experience and not nonsense AI that no one will use.

      Hello there!
Recently the prime video app started to require the update to open, and now i am having a problem, because this app update REQUIRES to a system update of firmware (to webos24),
but it will make impossible to homebrew later.
So, can someone at least provide the last or update ipk of amazon (amazon.ipk), so i can install manually?
      Thanks!

      Hello,

It would be nice to have an ability to play video (not only?) content from folder in shuffle mode.

      Thanks.
