hi, i think a buy LG 42lb7200

model tv, can i update this webos 2.0?

Hi rbarca,

It is not possible to upgrade webOS 1.x to webOS 2.0. And you'd better think carefully, if at all you have to buy LG. Please read forum before. There are many problems with webOS 1.x and also 2.0. If you need a TV to watch movies and television, you'll be pleased. But if you need a good Smart TV, do not do this, because Smart TV by LG = fucking shitty Dumb TV. Don't waste your money. It's better to wait a bit and buy something else, otherwise you will spend many days on this forum...

Look for TV sets with android TV. Philips and Sony has something in offer. LG is noy Worth it

Definitely better choice is SONY BRAVIA Android TV. Philips and its firmware is shit worse than LG.

If not my 7 yrs old tv goes white screen suddenly last year, I would wait for Sony android tv. Sony has been losing market share I am also not very sure how committed Sony is going to ensure profit to sustain the cost maintaining it.

Wish Sony success.

    • Question: RE: Sinhala Language Subtitles Issue

Hi all, I own a LG UH650T TV and have been trying to playback content with Sinhala Language/Font Subtitles support but unfortunately the WebOS doesn't seem to have the correct encoding settings/Sinhala font characters installed into the software for correct playback of the subtitles and therefore the subtitles do not show up on the TV at all. I would be very grateful if you are able to bring up this issue with WebOS Software Developer Teams to enable Sinhala Language Subtitles Support

    • Question: Subtitles issue

Hello, I use Servio as home server media but there is a problem. On my LG TV with webos 2.0 subtitles from the movie does not play the characters correctly. There is a page code on the TV (Central European, Cyrillic, ...) but it does not correct the problem. For verification, we copied the movie and the subtitle on a USB stick and the playback is correct, no problem.  I use the DLNA network, this issue appears. The operating system is Windows 7 x 64.I guess that SO is guilty. Any ideas? Thank yo

    • Sinhala Subtitles not showing/working.

I’m an owner of OLED55C8PJA. It’s an OLED SMART THINQ TV. I have spent lots of money in this. Anyway, I can’t see Sinhala Subtitles whenever I’m watching movies using this TV. But it supports Sinhala language. It even has menu language and keyboard language in “Sinhala”. But Srt Subtitle files that has Sinhala language cannot see.I have tried to set to encoding to UTF-8 also. But no luck! hope you will know solution for me. Thanks

    • Question: 50UK6300 Why no 3D software included?

Hi Team,   Why can't you include 3D software in the firmware to allow us to watch 3d movies? It is simple module you can allow for LG users.
