LG Smart TV Time Machine transfer file to HDD?

Recommended Posts

I have recorded files from my LG Smart TV Time Machine that I would like to transfer to a hard drive. But there isn't an option for dragging the files into the hard drive.

The shows that I recorded aren't TV shows but instead are personal old recorded videos (like are 10+ years old) from an old camcorder that used a miniDV tape. And I used Time Machine's recording feature to turn it into a digital file so the tapes could be stored digitally.

Right now the recordings are in the TV. And I have my HDD plugged in. If only there was a way to transfer them over.

Thanks :)

is a problem that affects me as well, how to solve it?
the question is that does not record anything that is not a TV show.

the question is that does not record anything that is not a TV show. and then also that is crypted for not giving the opportunity to transfer recordings to PC or other media.
They say it is a matter of copyright, but what interests them, if anything, we who have to worry,

As for me, the more as I know is about how to play iTunes movies on LG smart TV. If you are iTunes fan, you may have known all iTunes movies are combined with fairplay DRM protection, it can be played on Apple devices only. There is no right for you to re-encode or share it to other devices, even you have paid for it. Fortunately, now there are a number of DRM removal tool for us to remove DRM from iTunes and convert videos from M4V to MP4 at faster speed with lossless quality. My option is Media Converter for Mac free. It is designed for all iTunes fans to get rip of DRM protection and convert videos to multiple compatible formats. You can catch more info on here. Hope this tip is useful to you.

    • Question: 4.0 update for 2016-17 Smart TV

When will the 4.0 update be available for my 2016-17 LG Smart TV?  I just got Alexa and can't use it for the TV unless it has the 4.0 version.  Model #70UH6350-UB.

    • Question: gigabit ethernet on smart TV

Hello, Is there any way of installing an usb gigabit network adapter on a webos smart TV?  The builtin wired adapter is only 100mbps (on a 2000$+ TV, shame  on you LG!!!)  while the wifi (N) is very poor, with the router at 1m from TV it only gets half the bandwidth of the wired network. Anyway the wired network  maxes out near 100mbps but I need more bandwidth as I have 4k video content with bitrates grater than 100mbps which I cannot stream without stuttering to TV through XPLAY/PLEX.  Kind regards,

    • Question: files on USB device shown as ._xxx.jpg

To have a picture  show on my new LG OLED55B87LC I've connected an external USB 3.0 hard disk (formatted with MS-DOS FAT32 on my iMac) that I've filled with hundreds of pictures from my Fotos App.  But when I open this drive on the TV the jpg pictures (numbered 1.jpg to 999.jpg) show up as ._1.jpg to ._999.jpg. When I scroll down at the end the list then the real jpg`s appear. So it looks like there's a copy of each file on this drive starting with  ._  ?? And all of them can't be shown on the TV - they look faulty ?  I've tried out with another drive / USB stick - just the same problem. Does anyone experience the same problems ? Do USB devices have to be formatted in a special way ? Any idea how to solve this ?

Ah - and beside this strange thing - is it normal that it last that long for the system of the TV to create all the thumbnail pictures to show on the TV ? When I scroll through a long list of pictures it lasts always a few seconds until the icons of the pictures really show the contents. This is really annoying because it makes the feature useless if I need several minutes to find a picture I'm searching for. Why is it that slow ? Is the USB connection only with 2.0 Standard ? Or is it a performance problem of WebOS ?
