There are many others to mimic - would a future Pre 3/4 be a follower OR leader?

Good point, its more nostalgia for me... :P  A nice slab phone at this point would be great...anything at this point would be great...

Good point, its more nostalgia for me... :P  A nice slab phone at this point would be great...anything at this point would be great...

Everyone has a slab phone. The physical keyboards of the WebOS phones set them apart. I wore out my Veer and was looking for something similar. There isn't anything. Everything is a slab phone and they just keep getting bigger. For people who use their phones for work, the go-to apps are e-mail and texting. I need a physical keyboard for that because of the constant errors of virtual ones. I also need a phone that is a comfortable size to carry in my pocket. A 5" screen isn't what I need. The only reason Blackberry is still in business is because HP's CEO's were too dense to realize that is what they were going after. The need is still there. There is even less competition. Motorola used to have 'Pro' versions of their Android phones with keyboards, but no longer. Why not go after the niche market that wants a smaller phone with a physical keyboard? Why not target Blackberry? Why not just usurp Hurd's WebOS strategy, since HP could no longer understand it once he left?

WebOS phones weren't the strategy with WebOS, Synergy was. The corporate market was the target. HP had WebOS running on phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, and printers. By using Synergy to simplify corporate phone and computer configurations, HP planned on selling a lot of computers, phones, tablets, and most importantly, Synergy servers and services.

This message took twice as long to type on a tablet with a virtual keyboard than it would have taken on my Veer.

I did like my pre 2. Never got a pre 3... But my 2 served very well and I liked the keyboard. Used a pixi for a while with that keyboard as well. I agree that differentiating would be the way to go.

Its interesting to see that the blackberry-like keyboard by seacrest was taken to court. There must be some perceived need or value for that type of mobile interface.

Hi, I have a feature request for the sound out setting. I often connect my Bluetooth headphones to the TV. We don't use the internal speaker of the TV, we use the optical sound out setting whenever I don't use Bluetooth. It would make our lives a lot easier if the TV can remember the last sound out setting before connecting to Bluetooth and default back to this setting when the Bluetooth device gets disconnected. At the moment, each time I disconnect the headphones I have to go back into settings and change the sound out setting from internal speaker to optical again.
      Thanks and regards
      Hubert

I have recently allowed a software update on my LG tv and now my DVD recorder automatically turns my tv back on when a recording stops and and when I had already manually turned off both recorder and tv.  This is particularly when it happens in the very early morning!  How do I stop this. I am a pensioner and not a tech nerd!

LG Gaming Portal – Exclusive Track Available at Launch

SEOUL, Oct. 30, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) and Ubisoft are collaborating for the upcoming launch of one of the most popular music-based dance video game, Just Dance Now, on LG Smart TVs. The official trailer will debut at Paris Games Week 2025, with service availability starting sequentially from December 2025 through LG Gaming Portal in North America and Europe.* This collaboration will let LG Smart TV owners in supported markets dance along to their favorite Just Dance routines – no console required.
With over 135 million players worldwide, Just Dance Now offers dynamic choreography of hundreds of songs. LG Smart TVs running webOS 22 or later will provide easy access to this extensive library. To celebrate the launch, LG TV users will enjoy exclusive access to a limited-time Just Dance map featuring Money Pull Up, a viral track with tens of millions of streams worldwide.
LG Smart TV users will be able to play for free Just Dance Now for a limited time each day, providing a chance to experience the fun of dancing along to popular tracks on their TVs. Those who wish to keep playing can extend their access with a subscription or by purchasing song packs.
Players can enjoy countless hours of dancing with friends and family by simply using the LG Magic Remote, without the need for additional controllers or a gaming console. With motion-sensing technology, the LG Magic Remote can accurately capture each movement, reflecting the motions on screen for a smooth and responsive experience.
“Our collaboration with LG Electronics is a great way for more people to play Just Dance Now through the LG webOS smart TV platform,” said Amelie Louvet, Just Dance Brand Director, Ubisoft Paris Studio. “With Just Dance Now, LG Smart TVs are now a dynamic space for families and friends to turn their living room into a dancefloor and move to the world’s biggest hits.”

Featuring 88 LG OLED Screens, Inaugural Exhibition by Artist TZUSOO
Transforms MMCA’s Central Seoul Box Into a Gateway for Digital Art

SEOUL, July 31, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) announces “MMCA×LG OLED Series 2025 – TZUSOO,” the inaugural exhibition of a multi-year partnership with the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA). This forward-looking project explores the creative possibilities at the intersection of art and technology – beginning with a large-scale digital installation by Korean media artist TZUSOO, on view at MMCA Seoul’s iconic Seoul Box from August 1, 2025, through February 1, 2026.
The MMCA×LG OLED Series transforms Seoul Box – a soaring, publicly accessible space at the heart of MMCA – into a dedicated platform for contemporary media art. Each year, the series will present a new work by a leading contemporary artist, with LG as the title sponsor providing technical support to help bring ambitious artistic visions to life.
For the inaugural edition, TZUSOO presents “Agarmon Encyclopedia: Leaked Edition,” a multimedia installation comprising the sculpture “Agarmon” alongside the two-channel video work “The Eight Spirits of Flesh.” Known for her distinct voice rooted in digital-native culture and her explorations of gender and identity, TZUSOO engages themes of life, desire and generative cycles through a hybrid of organic forms and digital avatars.
The installation is powered by 88 55-inch LG OLED screens, arranged into two towering media walls specifically designed to fill the Seoul Box space. With perfect blacks and vivid colors, LG OLED displays enhance the visual intensity of “The Eight Spirits of Flesh,” immersing viewers in a world where digital creatures shift and interact across screens. The scale and technical sophistication of the installation mark a significant moment for media art at MMCA – and underscore LG OLED’s digital canvas as a powerful and creative medium.
“It’s an honor to support the first of many exhibitions of the MMCA×LG OLED Series by helping bring the artist’s bold visual experiment to life through the immersive power of our LG OLED technology,” said Kate Oh, head of Experiential Marketing at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “We hope this series offers audiences a deeper, more sensory experience of contemporary art and expands the possibilities for how it can be expressed and appreciated by art enthusiasts on a digital canvas.”
“As the first artist selected for the MMCA×LG OLED Series, TZUSOO’s multifaceted spirit of experimentation vividly reflects the creativity and innovation this project aims to foster,” said Kim Sunghee, Director of MMCA. “We look forward to this exhibition introducing new possibilities for contemporary art at the intersection of technology and artistic vision.”
