I have the same problem since a software upgrade and notified LG yesterday. Response expected in two working days.

I will post when I get a solution.

I received a reply today but it was not helpful. However, I changed my internet search and found the following, which has worked:

Changing the power-on screen o

  1. Press the Settings button on the remote
  2. Select All Settings
  3. Select General
  4. Select System
  5. Select Additional settings
  6. Select Home settings
  7. Select Power on screen
  8. Select the desired initial screen

Hope it works for you. :)

I just tried it several times but unfortunately "LG Channels" app always resets the input back to antenna. Oh Well, I was quite excited at finding a solution but it was not to be. I'm glad it worked for you and thanks for letting us know. I hope it works for others with this problem. Probably best to delete all LG TV apps. 👍

Did you find all of the different stages shown in my post?

If not, use you browser to search “set input default for LG” and your model number.

Yes, to the letter. In fact, I have a vague memory of trying something similar about a year ago but the bug always re-sets to aerial. I was/am hoping LG would take notice and do something about their app - LG, if you're listening, it's only your LG Channels app that does this - but I don't think LG cares very much, at least, not enough to do anything about it. Thanks again for your efforts, it's appreciated. If LG is listening, I will delete their LG Channels app - again. Maybe, when the TVOS and LG Channels app are updated I might try again, or, maybe not!

Hi OhmorrowSouthWales, I assume that you are also based in the UK? I am asking, as I have been in contact with LG customer service about my satellite selection issues after the recent webOS update to version 23.21.20 for my LG TV (model: OLED55B36LA). For some reason, they have imposed some serious restrictions on their UK customers, as I can only select the UK default satellite (Astra 28.2E). When I go to my TV settings, using this updated webOS version, I can not add a second or different satellite as the 'Add Satellite' button has been greyed out. In the previous version of webOS this was possible. Customer service have suggested that I raise a 'Voice-of-Customer (VOC)' ticket. Have you ever considered this as a way of speeding up LG finding a solution for these bugs?

Hello Again. Yes, I am in South Wales, UK. The problem with the LG Channels app re-setting input from satellite to aerial is my second problem with LG. Before that, the Channel 4 app - I think it was called All4, or something similar, wouldn't show live Channel 4 streaming. Sounds petty, but for me aerial is not possible and in summer satellite reception is patchy due to the surrounding environment. So, when satellite is not available I rely on streaming - I get all channels through their apps,  except Channel 4. Even going through LG's internet web browser and going through Channel 4's web site, it still wouldn't let me watch live Channel 4 streaming!  OK, the point is, at the time, I went through LG's complaint and resolution system. I found it confusing, lengthy, frustrating and ultimately a waste of time. They never got back to me with anything useful and they certainly never addressed the issue. "Have you turned your TV off and on." And also, "Have you deleted the app and reloaded the latest version," was another trite response, among many others. I can only wish you great patience and perseverance. Raising any kind of ticket didn't work for me, but it just might work for you.

Just an update after contact with LG customer support. The trick seems to be to switch off the 'programme list update' in the satellite settings and this then re-activates the 'add satellite' option. Further, the nearest satellite was then also selected as was the case before the recent webOS update.

My LG television does not have a CI Module and pay chennals shows scrambled. In some LG televisions, some free to air channels work fine while others pay chennals will display the message "No CI Module". How to watch other LGTV "Scrambled" channels.

i have tried resetting the tv, power cycling, changing cables (coax) and nothing is making a difference.

With a Curved Screen and a 240Hz Refresh Rate, LG’s New Gaming Monitor Helps
Create an Expansive and More Responsive Gaming Environment

SEOUL, May 10, 2023 — LG Electronics (LG) has launched its newest UltraGear gaming monitor (model 49GR85DC), a curved 49-inch display with a 32:9 aspect ratio and an ultra-high 240Hz refresh rate. Like having two 16:9 monitors side by side, the impressive new model delivers the silky-smooth gameplay and top-notch picture quality needed for immersive gaming experiences. While designed with gamers in mind, the 49GR85DC is also suitable for productivity or viewing content thanks to its advanced multitasking functionality and extra-wide screen.
Featuring a 49-inch Dual QHD (5,120 x 1,440) resolution panel with a 1000R curvature, LG’s new UltraGear gaming monitor provides sharp, vibrant images that fill the user’s field of vision. The combination of the monitor’s generous screen width and 240Hz refresh rate1 helps create an expansive and more responsive game environment – making titles feel more real and dynamic. VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified, the 49GR85DC also has a 3000:1 contrast ratio and a 1000-nit peak brightness2, producing vivid colors and deep, nuanced blacks. With its three-sided, virtually borderless design, the monitor enables users to stay focused as they battle their opponents or explore their favorite virtual worlds.
Not just for gaming, the 49GR85DC offers an array of multitasking features that let users take full advantage of its elongated 32:9 aspect ratio screen. The new UltraGear supports Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) modes. PIP mode lets users display content from a second connected device in a floating window, while PBP mode allows them to work with multiple open windows at the same time by conveniently dividing the screen into two discrete sections.
Important for users who enjoy PC and console gaming – and useful for multitasking as well – the new monitor provides connectivity via DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1, both of which let users enjoy smooth gaming at 240Hz in Dual QHD resolution. Additionally, the curved UltraGear enhances the gaming experience with its LED Hexagon backlighting and support for DTS Headphone:X; an advanced audio solution that provides outstanding three-dimensional sound via wired headphones.
“As the gaming monitor market continues to mature and grow, so too does the demand for expansive displays offering high refresh rates and superb picture quality,” said Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “Designed for gaming, but equally suited to multitasking, the new LG UltraGear is a versatile, premium display solution that shows our commitment and ability to satisfy the diverse needs of today’s consumers.”
Now available in the U.S., the new UltraGear gaming monitor will be launched in key markets throughout Europe this month and in Asia later this year.

Good Morning, There is a recommended minimum distance between the TV and the viewer. I bought an LG OLED C155 last month and it is uncomfortable from a distance. It was my mistake. I bought it without worrying about visual comfort. Is it possible to reduce the screen's usable area to simulate a screen size TV of 48 inches or less, accepting the black borders that would be created? It would be something similar to a custom aspect ratio. The idea would be to be able to simulate a smaller screen size than the purchased equipment. other-bigger->65->55->48->other-less
