SEOUL, Jan. 28, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is unveiling its newly upgraded residential air conditioner, the DUALCOOL™ AI Air. Leveraging the company’s enhanced AI Core-Tech, the new model delivers exceptional comfort, energy efficiency and air care with unparalleled convenience.

The latest DUALCOOL™ AI Air offers an optimized air conditioning environment customized to each user’s preferences. Powered by the AI DUAL Inverter™, the system detects the ambient temperature of the space and intelligently adjusts temperature, airflow direction and speed accordingly for consistent comfort. The AI Air mode features the Human Detecting Sensor, which precisely tracks the user’s location and learns usage patterns through spatial analysis by the ThinQ app to create the most efficient airflow pathway.1 The function also automatically adjusts the settings to create a comfortable indoor environment, delivering direct airflow for fast cooling or heating and transitioning to Soft Air mode with indirect airflow when the room reaches the ideal temperature.

In addition, the new model features Sleep Timer+, which analyzes user preferences and sleep patterns to provide a relaxing sleep environment. To ensure a restful night, Sleep Timer+ sets the ideal temperature and operates quietly during sleep hours. The DUAL Vane™ system and Soft Air function further improve airflow control for maximized comfort.

The DUALCOOL AI Air also employs an array of energy-saving features, reducing energy consumption with unparalleled convenience. Its AI kW Manager enables users to control electricity use by setting and monitoring usage limits. The Human Detecting Sensor and Window Open Detection allows the air conditioner to swiftly sense changes in the room, activating energy-saving mode when the space is unoccupied or if the temperature suddenly fluctuates.

Moreover, the new DUALCOOL AI Air simplifies clean air management with its All Cleaning mode, which can be activated with a single tap in the ThinQ app. This mode performs a full maintenance cycle, including condensed water generation and Freeze Cleaning™ to remove contaminants from the evaporator, as well as Auto Clean+ which automatically dries the interior of the air conditioner. This cycle is complemented by a multi-step filtration process. For even fresher, cleaner air, users can activate the Plasmaster™ Ionizer++, which can eliminate up to 99.9 percent of adhering bacteria,2 effectively capturing dust, bacteria and debris.

“The LG DUALCOOL AI Air exemplifies our dedication to enhancing indoor temperature control with latest air conditioners,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company. “We are committed to advancing our state-of-the-art AI technology to shape the future of innovative air conditioning solutions.”

I've just updated my LG 55UM75 TV to the latest software version - 05..20.15 - and now the picture looks off.
I've turned off TruMotion, Motion Eye Care, Smooth Gradation, Noise Reduction and Smooth Gradation, but somehow everything still looks artificial.
Is there another picture setting I'm missing, I've gone through every setting I can find.

With a Complete Portfolio of Advanced Air Solutions, Company Continues to Reinforce
Longstanding Leadership in Region’s Fast-Growing RAC Market

SEOUL, Oct. 29, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) has reaffirmed its status as Latin America’s number one residential air conditioner (RAC) brand. According to Euromonitor International, a respected data analytics and market research company, LG has been the region’s top-selling air conditioner brand for ten consecutive years (2015 to 2024). The company also continues to lead the Brazilian RAC market with solutions that combine its proprietary Dual Inverter technology, advanced design and now, AI-powered features at competitive prices.
The Latin American RAC sales grew by 30 percent in 2024 compared to the previous year. Within the region, Brazil has shown particularly strong momentum, with annual sales nearly tripling since 2015. With RAC penetration in Brazil currently around 20 percent,1 the country’s market is projected to expand by more than 20 percent from 2024 by 2029.2 LG plans to build on this growth potential to further strengthen its leadership in Latin America.
Earlier this year, LG expanded its lineup of next-generation air conditioning solutions in Latin America with the launch of new AI-equipped RAC products: the DUALCOOL AI Air (marketed as DUAL INVERTER AI Air in Brazil) and the ARTCOOL AI Air. Powered by LG’s advanced AI core technology, these solutions are designed to enhance user comfort by sensing room conditions and automatically adjusting airflow, temperature and fan speed. The latest models also support more efficient energy use with features such as the AI kW Manager and Window Open Detection. In addition, the ARTCOOL AI Air was awarded the winner of the Red Dot Design Award and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) while the DUALCOOL AI Air received the winning product of the iF Design Award this year.
“Being recognized as the number one RAC brand in Latin America for the past ten years is a testament to the quality of our products and the strong trust we have built with customers throughout the region,” said Jang Seok-hoon, head of the Residential Air Conditioners Business at the LG ES Company. “We will continue to strengthen our position by introducing innovative products tailored to the diverse needs of local consumers.”

Serious About Sustainability, Company Introduces New Material and Production
      Process to Minimize Environmental Impact

SEOUL, Aug. 18, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is reducing plastic consumption and carbon emissions by adopting a new material and manufacturing process for its commercial 4-way system air conditioners. Aligned with the company’s Better Life for All ESG vision, these latest efforts demonstrate an unwavering commitment to minimizing environmental impacts.
TÜV Rheinland, a global testing and certification organization, recently confirmed that LG’s newly instituted production process has lowered carbon emissions from the manufacturing of its 4-way system air conditioners to 14.85 kilograms of CO₂ equivalents* per unit. Along with the shift in manufacturing method, the primary driver of this reduction is the introduction of a new material used for the air conditioners’ exterior panels.
Moving away from conventional plastic manufacturing techniques, LG employs a foaming injection molding process whereby nitrogen gas is injected into the mold to create bubbles within the material. This innovative approach reduces plastic use by approximately 900 grams per unit. Additionally, LG has replaced the use of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) with Polypropylene (PP), which has a lower carbon footprint.
These improvements are expected to cut plastic consumption by roughly 270 tons annually and CO₂ equivalent carbon emissions by over 4,400 tons each year – a reduction comparable to the carbon absorbed in one year by a 30-year-old pine forest covering more than 580 soccer fields.
LG began applying its foaming injection molding method to 4-way system air conditioners in June and plans to gradually expand it to other residential and commercial models.
In pursuit of carbon neutrality, LG aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6 percent by 2030 compared to 2017 levels, as outlined in its Sustainability Report. To reach this target, the company is integrating high-efficiency equipment into its manufacturing processes and adopting renewable energy sources to produce high-efficiency appliances leveraging its proprietary Core Tech.
A prime example of Core Tech is LG’s inverter motor technology, which minimizes energy waste by adjusting motor and compressor speeds in real time according to demand. The company has also advanced its environmental compliance by launching an inverter scroll chiller using R32 refrigerant, which has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) about 30 percent lower than R410A refrigerant.
“The new material and manufacturing process we’ve introduced for our 4-way system air conditioner underscored our efforts to minimizing environmental impacts,” said Bae Cheung-hyun, head of the System Air Conditioners Business at the LG ES Company. “LG will continue to leverage innovative technologies to develop eco-conscious air conditioners for a healthier planet.”
