Hello

Same problem at a OLED G36LA at Greece

Toolopt6 --> 1913705995

Support ATV DVR -->off

DVR ready --> off

Same area code 3122, continent index (50) , language EU, HW EU

I saw somewhere at the avsforums also a guy with area 3122 living at UK and dvr working.

I suspect it is something else that needes to be changed to enable dvr

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I tried to change the area code at ez-adjust menu

tried from 3121 to 3128.

When you change the area code also continent index is changing a bit (i.e. 50--> 52) and some settings at the other menus of ez-adjust

I think the options change without a reboot so you can see what is changed.Tried also reboot after every change.

Unfortunately dvr ready remains off at all the above changes

Also tried to set area code 3642 (ukraine according to

link hidden, please login to view

Looking at the options after setting it (without reboot) did not seem to change the dvr ready=off .

Tried reboot and boomm. No Display and the red led on (like on standby).

After calming a little bit ( :) ) and trying several reboots it restarted with last working area code .

Also pressed the "in stop" button  at the virtual remote control (

and maybe this helped also ... or maybe the tv understood that it can not boot multiple times and reset itself...

At normal operation when I press ïnstop" the TV does a factory reset and asks again to be setup (like when I 1st time I powered it)

After all the above I guess(not sure) the area code is not relevant for dvr off setting.

Also looking at :

I see that with 3122 , 50, eu, eu settings the dvr is on at other tv

We should look elsewhere.

At the service remote of above link I see that there are 2 extra buttons : ssm and psm

Does anyone know what they do?

Also anyone succeded running installation menu? Maybe we can enable timeshift there

Thanks to the help I found on another forum I unlocked the recording function and timeshift!
The new code for my TV only changed the 2 necessary functions: DVR ready -> ON and support ATV DVR -> ON
This code worked perfectly on my small TV 28TN515S (Italy)
In my ToolOPT6_Energy/Country menu:
541641992 - corresponding binary 0010 0000 0100 1000 1100 1101 0000 1000 (DVR OFF)
541838600 - corresponding binary 0010 0000 0100 1011 1100 1101 0000 1000 (DVR ON)
Obviously this is the specific code of my model, each TV has its own code depending on its functions.
You have to be very careful not to modify the other functions to avoid the risk of brick the TV !!!
I understood that you have to convert the decimal code into binary and change the bit corresponding to the function from 0 to 1 and then convert it back to decimal and insert it in place of the original. After changing it, ON will appear on the 2 functions we need. 🙂
then exit the menu and perform a total reset of the TV and after the initial settings you will find recording and timeshit (called "time machine" by LG) active!
Hope this helps
Ciao !

541838600 = dvr enabled

541842696 = dvr enabled + dolby atmos in sound option.

541846792 OR 541850888 = dvr enabled + DTS Virtual X

you can enable but you must change country from menu because if you select italy, pvr still disabled, it's a SIAE legal stuff

      That Orange field (from SM/etzadjust) I can click for modification on my C1, but I cannot on my C2.
      Any hint about how I can achieve that?

      Background: my goal is enabling PVR/TS, enabled on my 65C1, but disabled on my 42C2.
      I know it is risky, but copying the value of the same model with those features should achieve that, as discussed here:

      Hello.

      Some tutorials explain how to do it.
      We first need to root the TV with scripts such as RootMyTV, and then install dts_restore.
      Both tools are free and available at github.
      I'm not writing the links because I don't know if it's allowed in this forum and because I take no responsibility.

      My question is:
      Has anybody tried this process? Does it work?
      The documentation says if you have any problem you can just factory reset the TV, but I don't dare to do it.

      Not sure if this has been previously posted.

      Recently switched from a LG Nano Cell 85 to the LG C3 and really disappointed that now the Home button takes you to the full screen Home Page instead of showing a "Shelf" (I think I have the right term for it) of installed Apps. (image attached of what it used to look like)

      It just feels better to be able to still watch/hear content while I am making a decision to switch or maybe even possibly even not because something catches my attention. I would say it is more efficient and less intrusive for my viewing experience.

      If this can be implemented as an additional option again, that would be great!

      Delivering the First Commercial Implementation of HCA Specification 1.0,
      Company Expands Smart Home Ecosystem Through Partnerships With Other Brands

      SEOUL, Aug. 29, 2023 — LG Electronics (LG) is set to present the first commercial implementation of the Home Connectivity Alliance’s HCA Specification 1.0, enabling cross-brand appliance connectivity through the LG ThinQ smart home platform. By the end of this year, consumers will be able to control appliances from diverse brands, such as Samsung and Vestel, with the intuitive-to-use ThinQ app, providing seamless interconnectivity and a smarter, more convenient home.
      With a firm commitment to customer experience innovation, LG has joined with other brands to bring the elegant simplicity of cross-brand compatibility to major markets worldwide, including South Korea, the United States and Europe. The partnership will initially cover major appliance product categories, such as washing machines, dryers and dishwashers, and will gradually be expanded to other types of appliances in the future.
      The widespread adoption of HCA Specification 1.0 to development makes it possible to monitor and control various brands’ home appliances and air solutions using a single application. With the ThinQ app, users just have to register their compatible products, and then they’re ready to enjoy the ease and time-saving freedom of one-stop device management. Those with an LG washing machine and a Samsung dishwasher in the home, for example, will no longer have to switch between each manufacturer’s app to set their preferred wash cycle and cleaning settings.
      The arrival of true cross-brand interconnectivity is the realization of the HCA’s vision for a seamlessly unified smart home experience. Founded in January 2022 and comprising a number of smart home solutions manufacturers, the HCA aims to provide cloud-based interoperability between the smart home platforms of its member companies. As a board member of the alliance, LG has been working closely with other appliance makers, including Samsung and Vestel, to drive the adoption of HCA Specification 1.0, with the ultimate goal of enhancing user convenience.
      Committed to expanding the smart home ecosystem, LG has also actively supported the work of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), a global organization dedicated to developing open communication protocols for smart home devices. LG contributed to the development and standardization of the Matter protocol, an Internet Protocol-based home IoT communications standard led by the CSA.
      “LG ThinQ enables a seamlessly interconnected home appliance ecosystem that will provide new smart home experiences to customers around the globe,” said Jung Ki-hyun, executive vice president and head of platform business center. “LG will continue to expand compatibility between ThinQ and other HCA members’ smart home platforms.”
