    Hi Simon,

Firstly Thanks for your downgrade script i have had to modify it for my model tv: HE_DTV_W15A_AFADABAA. I have created a new answer file with the location to the epk downgrade. when i hit the update > install i get an error "Update failed due to decrypting data error".

I have tried the online CDNs and my own local copy's

    Hey raVenMaD,

Your HE_DTV_W15A_AFADABAA file content is wrong. First, check where you unzipped the script. Like CDN_URL in your HE_DTV_W15A_AFADABAA file sugest, it's in something like C:\LG_DTV: or you put your firmware file to C:\LgDTVUpDater in LG_DTV folder:

    http://192.168.1.65/LG_DTV/starfish-dvb-secured-lm15u-badlands-453201-03.03.06-prodkey_usb_V3_SECURED.epk

It's very bad place anyway. You must to unpack LgDTVUpDater archive to C:\LgDTVUpDater directory and CDN_URL in HE_DTV_W15A_AFADABAA file must be looks like:

    http://192.168.1.65/starfish-dvb-secured-lm15u-badlands-453201-03.03.06-prodkey_usb_V3_SECURED.epk

    Okay, let's do it...  ;)

    1. Download Software_File(Version_03.03.06).zip and unpack it to C:\LgDTVUpDater\htdocs

    2. Edit HE_DTV_W15A_AFADABAA file which you created in C:\LgDTVUpDater\htdocs

    Hello Simon,

I also have an LG 49UF8507 Turkish model which is currently on version 04.10.10 and I am trying to downgrade it to 03.13.85 using the HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA file you have shared. But when I followed your instructions on LgDTVupdater (i.e. changed the DNS entries on AcrylicHosts.txt and the DNS entry on my TV to my computer's IP address and ran the two .bat files) my TV doesn't find any updates. Also, there doesn't seem to be a problem in the communication between my computer and my TV (i.e. startDNS.bat creates log entries on the command window when I check for updates on my TV).

After this method failed, I also tried the local update method using the HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA file (I am sharing its contents below, where 192.168.2.131 is the IP address of my computer). I have downloaded "starfish-dvb-secured-lm15u-badlands-4552-03.13.85-prodkey_nsu_V3_SECURED.epk" to the htdocs folder ran the .bat files and checked for updates on my TV but it once again couldn't find any updates.

I would really appreciate your help regarding this issue, I want to be able to downgrade my TV :) Thanks in advance for your interest and support.

Here is the HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA file I used for local update method:

    mtuna10...

    1. Where you've got 04.10.10 firmware for UF8507?

    2. Last OFFICIAL firmware for your TV now is 03.20.05.

    3. Why would you downgrade to 03.13.85?

    4. Your CDN_URL is bad. Port 80 is not needed. It must be like:

    http://192.168.2.131/starfish-dvb-secured-lm15u-badlands-4552-03.13.85-prodkey_nsu_V3_SECURED.epk

Please try again or I can give you downgrade instructions to 03.20.05 if you want.

    Dear SIMON,

i need the same issues with dtosun and i've tried a lot but unfortunatelly i haven't able to solve the problem whatever i tried. 1 to 10 steps don't make a sense at all. TV shows "there's no update" and we can not see the TV model name automaticly in dump.txt file. Then, if i set it manually by using the pre-downladed .epk file and files in your "TV Series" folder, there's still the same: "there's no update".

Any advise, please? (thanks in advance)

Thanks Simon. I'm in Iran. F.Version is 3.03.55 and problem is "no update found". I changed the content of In-dump.txt file and found it not overrighted. So I think it have not the correct FW.Version.

Well guys, I think that the name of TVs you both is HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA and that's why name isn't overwritten in in_dump file.

I updated LgDTVupdater, so please try again to downgrade your firmware and let me know. If it fails, we will try to do it locally.

  5. I dont think the grass is any greener on the other side . I had the panasonic 60AS800 , so called flagship hd model for 2014 and it also had memory issues when using the webb browser , Dont think there installing  enough memory for the job .

    Panasonic also... Nice.

No not at all, I have had both and find it amazing that they both have the same errors that could possibly be avoided by more memory.

Totally agree. I don't understand that way. New TV, newest firmware and shit welcome again. My older LB5800 is still working perfectly. I think that's my last journey with fkng LG.

  6. Nope, can't tell the diffience between 5.00.04 and this one. No memory error after 3h20m. But now it's time for bed. (I am happy now no more MEM error).

Good for you, Demonrider. This app will now restart to free up memory on my LG650V when I searched for something in Google.

I do not have any problems with other applications, only this shitty browser pissed me off every moment. I hope that you remain happy when you wake up.

BTW I think that they already do not fix it. We need more physical memory rather than seeking a miracle in the firmware.

  7. Hi all - for what it 's worth, I just spoke to LG helpdesk about this WebOS debacle causing my tv to crash every 15 minutes. I have been on the phone to them four times or so over the past two weeks. Last week I was told an update would be within days; today they backtracked - said previous helpdesk colleague was wrong to say that; said that LG doesn't tell them when fw releases or patches will be issued.. Nice..

Hi caerleonite. Here we are talking about firmware downgrade. If you want to talk about firmware versions, problems with it etc., feel free to talk about in WebOS TV Firmware version topic.  ;)

  8. Ciao Zen.   ;) Don't be angry, life is too short. We all know that webOS 1.x in our TVs is very nice piece of shit, but there are more important things in our life and things like that it's only shitty decoration. Anyway, in answer to your question - I think yes, it will be good also for your TV. Just try to downgrade with my instruction and when you done, go to TV menu and do update by OTA to next firmware which you want. If you get any problems, let me know to help you more.

  9. SIMON, you have written this manual by yourself or stole someone else's instruction and assign it without leaving any references to the author? ;)

Seriously?  I wrote this tutorial step by step for LGwebOS forum users few days after successful downgrade based on description found on Polish blog. References to the author I left in archive by signing in a text file with my tutorial.

So, if you have any problem with that, feel free to PM me with your questions - here we are talking about firmware downgrade. Thank you.  ;)

  10. I am in the USA firmware after downgrade is 3.23.06.1 HE_DTV_WT1H_AFAAATAA

First download Software_File(Version_04.50.43).zip and unpack it to C:\LgDTVUpDater\htdocs

Then edit HE_DTV_WT1H_AFAAABAA file in C:\LgDTVUpDater\htdocs like this:

Just copy that all and overwrite with HE_DTV_WT1H_AFAAABAA file content. Change 192.168.0.11 with your local IP address.

Now run downgrade process as in the tutorial.

  11. The downgrade installed a firmware meant for a EU TV. Now I am unable to update and in the service menu it has some errors forHDMI 2.0 is listed as NG and the country code  has EU. The app store does not work either.

How can I fix this? How can I install the correct firmware using the correct file?

I need your location, firmware version after downgrade and model name from in_dump file - <MODEL_NM>??_???_????_????????</MODEL_NM>
