BTW My enthusiasm stems from fact that before upgrading to 05.10.01, my TV from novelty was useless, every day more and more irritated, I was tempted to throw it away or sell. Now, after many months, TV really works as it should when I bought it. And I don't have any problems after this update.

Yes, it is quite simple.

- Go to future menu by pressing the last card from the main menu;

- Find your app;

- If you are using magic remote put the cursor over your app and an arrow will appear above the app;

- Click on the arrow. The app will pop out from the line. From this point you can rearrange the apps or you can delete the apps by clicking the X from the top of the icon.

No it isn't simple guys. 

These icons are just shortcuts to installed applications.

Removing them does not uninstall applications from TV.

To remove installed applications, you must reset TV to factory settings - very stupid, but true.

Tried to update 5,10,02 but not recognised when usb pluged in. Strange.

I made the LG_DTV folder put the software in and pluged into TV.

Smart share opens with dtv folder showing.

Also App closed to free up memory every 5-10 mins.

O man I'll hve to downgrade later. ;(

Yes, 05.10.02 was released yesterday. Cosmetic changes compared to 05.10.01, nothing special.

morrison, you do not need to wait for european version. I'm using this firmware in Poland and everything is okay. And yes, you can change language and location on menu.

I am almost certain that this is not the reason, considering that i already have the 5.10.01 version!

You're absolutely right. I think you must wait for next update for your TV.

So am I right in thinking the LG630-LG870 quote is for all models between this range. I have the LB731V-ZE and I'm a little nervous of installing beta software.

Today new beta firmware was released version 5.10.02 for LB630-LB870 and EC930

I had got seriously fed up with the sluggish nature of webos 1, so much worse than the previous LG smart tv os. So much so i was on the verge of selling this tv at a hugh loss just to get something useable.

 

However ...... this update is a MASSIVE improvment. Much quicker channel change, and the missing info banner on change is now there. Boot up is quicker, switching between apps ( once they have been started initially ) is instant - impressivly so

Quick menu is 'quick' now.  It feels like a completely different tv.   :D :D   

 

Just to balance my input the negatives are TV GUIDE is still too slow load up to be used( however 'Programmes' is quick but just displays current, rather than NOW and NEXT ) Advanced settings are also slow, but being objective this is isnt used that often. Initial boot of apps switches to a blank coloured screen rather than the app front screen such as Netfllix, Amazon etc ....

Some of these issue's may be Beta related anyway.

 

Overal - a much happier LG Tv owner this week.

turbozob, don't be afraid, it isn't custom - it's beta from LG server. My LG finally began to live, everything working great. 

What is that for an App?

Available for Android also. Some shit after last update, but LG still working on it, so I think it will be better soon.

was it through auto upgrade or manual download and usb upgrade ?

Anybody tried install?

I have installed on my 42LB650V and everything is working properly. All menus works much faster and smoother than in all previous versions. Finally, after many earlier updates, webOS in my LG became useful. Do not install 4.65.50 or older, it does not make sense. 05.10.01 is the one for which we waited for so long. Just install it and have fun with your LG.
