  1. To answer my own questions :), I was able to create an answer file and point the TV to a file that was server locally on my computer. It successfully upgraded to 04.41.39, wchich I got from the LG support site for my TV. Then I did an OTA update to 04.45.x and everything is back to stock. The model is HE_DTV_WT1M_AFAAATAA again, which is the right one. Thanks for the great tool Simon!! It makes upgrades and downgrades a breeze.

Good job man0072, but are you sure that this is HE_DTV_NC4M_AFAAABAA, not HE_DTV_WT1M_AFAAABAA?

BTW This tool is done primarily by Russian hackers. I have just modified it a little and ordered it to be more transparent and easier to use, especially for members of this forum.

Hi thanks for the great work on this.

When i tried to update my 50LB650 TV using my desktop PC it wouldn't work, when I tried using my laptop it worked great. I think it was because the desktop PC has Windows 10 and the laptop windows 7.

    Thanks again

Indeed, you right, I've heard about problems with Windows 10, but I use it personally and I had no such problems.

  2. It says No update was found.

    Okay still working on it.

It actually worked, woohoo! I successfully downgraded to 3.23.32. Now how do I upgrade to 04.41.39? I created a USB drive with LG_DTV folder and the starfish-atsc-secured-m14tv-32.arches-3239-04.41.39-prodkey_usb_V3_SECURED.epk file in it. But when I insert in the TV, only SmartShare message pops up, no update. Thanks for any more info!

Good. Try to update by OTA, them do it with USB.

  3. Hello again guys. First, thank you for your thanks, it's very motivating. ;) Nice to see satisfied users, now we have to do something for the others. I could not do anything earlier, because I had problems with my network, but finally I updated LgDTVupdater and now you can download it and try to downgrade your firmware. I hope it goes well now. If not, we will try to do it individually. So let's try and please let me know about successes. Good luck.

  4. Let me see... It looks simple but that was not how I did it, Your way is to downgrade to original firmware 03.23.13 and .epk is located on http://su.lge.com. I had to manually check the update to get file "in_dump" to clarify TV model, later copy and edit empty file for tv model and .epk file location and set force flag to Y to force downgrade. Finally when that was all done the TV accepted the version of .epk I copied. Your way is easier but probably people are having trouble finding the correct file for their TV model, that is why the update is not detected.

Why do you have edited your post... Please, do not write stupidity, it's not true what you said. You don't know, guessing and doing unnecessary confusion. First test it on your TV then talk about it.

Read with understanding. My way is to downgrade to the first firmware TV [#11] not to 03.23.13. People do not have to look any firmware - they can do it if they need to install custom firmware like beta or official from LG support site. If not, after Restart TV [#12]  they can just use Check For Updates option to upgrade firmware by OTA as David Isom did it. Update was not detected because in Updater lacked support for higher TV models and I had to update it. I wrote to you about it, but you come back to this topic to edit your post... And finally and above all - We're here to help each other, not to do confusion and destroy work of other. Don't do it anymore and Stay in Peace.
