SEOUL, May 11, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) announces that the AI technology applied to its upgradable appliance laundry solutions has received AI Algorithm Reproducibility Process Verification from UL, a global safety science leader.* A first for the home appliance industry, the verification confirms the advanced capabilities of LG’s Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive (AI DD™) technology which uses deep learning to detect the types of fabrics being washed, or dried, and select the optimal cycle and settings for each load.

Performing as advertised, LG’s AI DD is the first AI solution used in a laundry appliance to be validated by UL. The company’s state-of-the-art technology was put through a comprehensive assessment to verify its abilities, with UL measuring several criteria such as the suitability of the ‘learning’ data used by LG and the performance of its algorithm in actual usage.

LG’s AI DD-equipped laundry solutions provide customers with more convenience and gentle fabric care. The revolutionary AI DD leverages deep learning, a technology that allows computers to think and learn by themselves, to automatically determine the optimal washing pattern for each fabric-type. Detecting the weight and softness of laundry in each load, LG’s intelligent washers and dryers deliver excellent results every time, getting clothes and linen fresh and clean while also reducing fabric damage.

LG’s differentiated AI technology has also been recognized by various organizations including the Korea Testing Laboratory (AI safety certification) and the Korean Standards Association (AI+ certification).

This year, LG has taken home appliance innovation even further with the introduction of its upgradable appliance concept. Boosting user convenience and value, LG upgradable appliances can add new features and functions via software and hardware upgrades available through the ThinQ app.

      SEOUL, May 25, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) has announced the launch of its new UltraGear gaming monitor lineup (models 32GQ950, 32GQ850 and 48GQ900). With an all-new design language, the latest display tech and a range of gaming and connectivity features, the 2022 UltraGear gaming monitors have what it takes to satisfy gamers’ needs.
      Offering elite visual performance and speed, the flagship 32GQ950 comes equipped with a 4K Nano IPS display that features realistic color with Advanced True Wide (ATW) Polarizer technology, while the 32GQ850 has a QHD Nano IPS display with ATW and an ultra-high 240Hz refresh rate, overclocked (O/C) up to 260Hz. The new lineup also welcomes the 48GQ900, the UltraGear brand’s much-anticipated first entry into the OLED gaming monitor category.
      This year’s LG UltraGear models sport an even sleeker gaming aesthetic with sharp, angular stands and the new Hexagon Lighting. Along with the new design identity, LG’s 2022 monitors bring the latest HDMI 2.1 connectivity, enabling features such as variable refresh rate (VRR) and support for fast 4K gaming on PCs and the latest consoles. And, as one would expect, the new UltraGear lineup delivers beautiful, vivid picture quality and lightning-quick response time – the two 32-inchers courtesy of LG’s advanced Nano IPS 1 millisecond Gray-to-Gray (GTG) display technology and the 48GQ900 via a premium, 48-inch, 0.1 millisecond LG OLED panel.
      UltraGear 32GQ950 is a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) gaming powerhouse that is sure to find a place on many gamers’ wish lists. The Nano IPS 1ms gaming display is LG’s first 4K model to implement ATW Polarizer technology, which improves the panel’s ability to ensure lively, accurate colors and deep, dark blacks across a wide viewing angle. VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified, LG’s 32-inch monitor also offers high peak brightness (1,000 nits) and 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, as well as easy connection to PCs and consoles with two HDMI 2.1 ports.
      With the highest refresh rate of the new lineup – 240Hz, O/C 260Hz – and a 1ms response time, the 32-inch UltraGear 32GQ850 provides the smooth, speedy performance that the latest games demand. LG’s VESA AdaptiveSync Display-certified monitor has a QHD (2,560 x 1,440) Nano IPS panel with ATW Polarizer technology that guarantees seamless visuals and consistent colors from almost any vantage point. The 32GQ850 also comes with VESA DisplayHDRTM 600 certification, covers 98 percent of DCI-P3 and has a three-sided borderless design that helps to draw gamers deeper into the action of their favorite titles.
      Notably, 2022 sees the arrival of LG UltraGear’s first OLED gaming monitor, the 48GQ900. A Red Dot and iF Design Award-winning product, the self-emissive, 48-inch 4K display boasts a 120Hz (O/C 138Hz) refresh rate, a 0.1ms response time, impeccable color accuracy and a fully-borderless design. Perfect for PC and console gaming, the new model offers the superb color reproduction and contrast of OLED and features LG’s anti-glare low reflection (AGLR) coating, which reduces visual distractions so that users can focus their attention fully on the gameplay. What’s more, the 48GQ900 comes with a remote control specially designed for enhanced gaming convenience and a stylish stand that provides optimal stability without intruding into the user’s desk or table space.
      To complete the gaming experience, LG’s latest UltraGear gaming monitors incorporate a 4-pole headphone jack that allows users to plug in a gaming headset and chat as they play.       Hi,
      I have a Sony sound bar connected to my LG OLED CX via eARC. It was working fine. One day suddenly the sound bar stopped responding to the incoming audio from the TV. I tried all the ways - (PCM, Auto, Pass Through), TV reset, Additional settings eARC (on/off). But nothing worked. Escalated it to the LG CC. And the LG service representative advises me to change the mother board of the TV. I am wondering what went wrong with my 9 months old TV. Though it is still under warranty I dont want to go for a change of a component (if there is a work around). Sound bar is working perfectly with all other external devices. Awaiting for a solution or atleast a valid reason.

The new VESA® AdaptiveSync Display logo helps consumers to easily identify and compare the variable refresh rate (VRR) performance of gaming displays supporting VESA’s Adaptive-Sync protocol before they buy.
      To be certified as the VESA AdaptiveSync Display, LG’s elite gaming monitors had to meet the exhaustive and rigorous requirements of the VESA Adaptive-Sync Display Compliance Test Specification (Adaptive-Sync Display CTS), which uses more than 50 test criteria to establish clear benchmarks for assessing monitors’ and laptops’ VRR capabilities. With high refresh rates, fast Gray-to-Gray (GTG) response times and low latency, the two UltraGear gaming monitors met or exceeded the test scores specified in VESA’s new open standard.
      LG’s AdaptiveSync Display-certified monitors, LG UltraGear 27GP950 and 27GP850, provide the level of visual performance needed for seamless gaming experiences. Both models met required scores across VESA’s Adaptive-Sync Display CTS, including in several key measurements such as refresh rate, screen-flicker and response time. The two 27-inch gaming monitors feature advanced LG Nano IPS panels offering high refresh rates and a 1 millisecond GTG response time, allowing fluid gaming play and sharp, clean images for both PC and console games.

      Company Showcases Breadth of Technological Capabilities at
      Global Communications Conference in Seoul

      SEOUL, May 17, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) is showcasing a diverse range of innovative, new mobility technologies, including connected vehicle solutions leveraging 6G and AI, at the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2022. Open from May 16-20 at COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul, South Korea, this year’s ICC adopts the theme of ‘Intelligent Connectivity for Smart World’ and features a hybrid format combining physical exhibits and in-person attendance with virtual content and online participation.
      One of the IEEE Communications Society’s two flagship conferences, ICC typically attracts around 2,000 attendees from over 70 countries. The annual event offers exciting keynotes and robust technical paper sessions as well as informative and engaging tutorials, workshops and industry discussions.
      In keeping with ICC 2022’s intelligent connectivity theme, LG is showcasing its OMNIPOD concept car; a fully autonomous, connected vehicle that can act as an extension of one’s living or workspace. LG OMNIPOD employs the unique, floor-to-ceiling Meta-environment Screen and a host of other advanced technologies to adapt to passengers’ unique needs. Mr. Kim will introduce the company’s direction regarding the transition to the software defined vehicle (SDV), as well as its latest solutions and services based on SDV and smart mobility technology.
