Right now, one of the area’s main attractions is the Goldstar Arcade, a pop-up retro gaming parlor opened by LG Electronics (LG) inside a suitably cutting-edge fashion concept store.

Additionally, the arcade boasts the Self-Lit Tunnel, which represents the self-illuminating pixels that give LG OLED TV its vibrant colors, deep blacks and superb contrast. Visitors pass through the tunnel to get to the OLED Gaming Zone, where they can unwind by gaming on one of the 10 state-of-the-art LG OLED TVs installed there. Anyone who loves racing games should definitely pull in to LG’s “victory lane,” where three 48-inch LG OLED TVs are seamlessly connected to give players a very real sense of being in the cockpit of a ridiculously fast race car.

Inspired by 1970’s American diners, the café adds to the unique vibe of the Goldstar Arcade. As well as being a great place to recoup before the next race, match or battle, the café is also where visitors can head to buy exclusive merchandise, including canvas tote bags, tea mugs and tumblers, all emblazoned with the logo of LG’s precursor, Goldstar.

With engaging, interactive experiences like those on offer at the Goldstar Arcade, LG will continue to connect with younger consumers while highlighting the unmatched performance and capabilities of its industry-leading OLED TVs.

SEOUL, Sep. 6, 2023 — LG Electronics (LG) is stepping into the spotlight as the official headline partner of Frieze Seoul 2023 (September 6-9). The company will be showcasing special art collaborations that reaffirm its dedication to highlighting the intrinsic link between art and technology as a part of its ongoing LG OLED ART project. For this year’s edition of Frieze Seoul, LG is partnering with the Whanki Foundation to present “We Meet Again in Seoul,” a curated selection of paintings by master of Korean abstract art, Kim Whanki.
The stunning exhibition features twelve original artworks by Whanki, including some of his most iconic pieces. Among these are Where, in What Form, Shall We Meet Again and 25-III-69 #46, created during his noted New York periods – both paintings exemplifying the artist’s unique “all-over dot” style. These works will be on display in the LG OLED Lounge at Frieze Seoul 2023, where they will be brought to life by the immaculate digital canvas that is LG OLED. The incredible colors and clarity of LG’s self-lit OLED technology faithfully preserve Whanki’s creative intentions while revealing detail and nuance that add an extra dimension to his acclaimed art.
Audiences will find themselves completely immersed in and inspired by this exclusive presentation; the combination of Whanki’s artistic genius and the digital artistry of LG OLED combining to elicit profound emotions and deep contemplation.
Additionally, visitors to the LG OLED Lounge will have the opportunity to explore exciting, new perspectives on the distinctive and thought-provoking art of Whanki. Je Baak, professor at Seoul National University College of Fine Arts, Mano Ahn, CEO of Ahn Graphics and Kim Dae-hwan, CEO of BESIGN, have joined forces to digitally express five of Whanki’s artworks, using LG OLED as their canvas.
“LG OLED is honored to present the work of the renowned Kim Whanki to a global audience at this year’s Frieze Seoul,” said Kate Hye-won Oh, vice president of the Brand Communication Division at LG Home Entertainment Company. “Both the stunning originals and the brave digital reinterpretations of Whanki’s paintings inspire the imagination and encourage all of us, whether artist or art enthusiast, to explore the limitless possibilities of art. The ultimate digital canvas, LG OLED continues to shine a light on the majesty of human creative endeavor, and what can be achieved when art and technology come together as one.”
Beyond its participation in Frieze Seoul 2023, LG OLED will be actively contributing to the artistic ambiance of the South Korean capital throughout the month of September. At Seoul Light DDP 2023 (August 31 to September 10), LG’s premium TV brand is presenting BOREALIS, an illuminating and ever-changing work of light and color by technologist and new media artist Dan Acher, which can be experienced daily between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. The collaboration is a testament to LG OLED’s continuing support for Seoul Art Week (taking place this year from September 1-10) and to its commitment to promoting the practice and appreciation of new forms of digital art.
LG OLED has also teamed up with Artist Company, a Seoul-based entertainment company founded by celebrated Korean actor, Lee Jung-jae, to expose a wider audience to the best of digital art. From September 7-24, the first floor of the Artist’s Company’s building in Cheongdam will play host to several inspirational works, including digitalized Whanki pieces and art from Six N. Five, previously showcased by LG OLED at Frieze New York in May.

      Company’s Innovations Comply With ISO/SAE 21434
      Cybersecurity Standard for Vehicles

SEOUL, Feb. 20, 2023 — LG Electronics (LG) has announced that its vehicle components have been verified for complying with ISO/SAE 21434, fundamental for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe’s (UNECE) regulation No. 155 (UN R155). This standard automotive cybersecurity measure requires vehicle and vehicle parts manufacturers to employ certified cybersecurity management systems for protection against hackers and other cybersecurity threats. Meeting the highest standards for digital security, LG’s automotive cybersecurity management system has earned the ISO/SAE 21434 certification from leading global testing organization TÜV Rheinland.
UNECE vehicle cybersecurity regulations, including UN R155, were established to make current and future car models safer against the ever-increasing risk of cyberattack. With vehicles now collecting, accessing and storing a large volume of data, cybersecurity has become a major focus for the automotive sector. In EU countries, auto manufacturers must adopt Cybersecurity Management Systems (CSMS) and get Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) in order to offer their products. In regions outside of the EU, such as North America and Asia, similar types of rules and regulations have come into force.
In this environment, CSMS system verification plays an instrumental role in the competitiveness of automotive parts. LG’s key products, including in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems and telematics, meet the stringent cybersecurity requirements set out in ISO/SAE 21434 according to the UN R155. This means the company is able to supply its auto industry partners with highly secure and reliable mobility solutions that meet or exceed the latest standards. Based on its considerable experience in developing and operating cybersecurity processes, LG can respond quickly to new standards, giving the company a distinct advantage over other industry players.
LG is utilizing its certified CSMS to develop confidence in vulnerable vehicle components and solutions for automakers. Moving forward, the company will also be working closely with its customers to test the cybersecurity of vehicles employing LG solutions, helping to ensure they are protected against cybersecurity threats throughout their operational life.
In September 2021, LG enhanced its capabilities in this highly important area of future mobility by acquiring Israeli cybersecurity company, Cybellum. LG’s commitment to and investment in cybersecurity have seen the company achieve meaningful results, including the recent verification from the UNECE.
“We sincerely congratulate LG on obtaining cybersecurity management system certification according to ISO/SAE 21434,” said Frank Juettner, CEO and director of TÜV Rheinland Korea. “Over the past decade, the automotive industry has transformed to meet the demand for advanced vehicles. Strengthening protection against automotive cybersecurity threats ultimately benefits both users and suppliers and this certification can be seen as a preemptive response by LG to prepare for security in the future automotive market.”
“In the era of software-defined vehicles, the ability to deliver reliable cybersecurity will play an ever-greater role in the automotive industry,” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of LG Vehicle component Solutions (VS) Company. “Gaining certification for ISO/SAE 21434 compliance shows that we can adapt and respond quickly to new regulations designed to protect vehicles and their occupants from cyberattacks.”

Cultural institutions play a pivotal role in shaping the local arts, the perfect example of one being the LG Arts Center SEOUL – the pinnacle of the Korean arts and culture scene which reopened its doors to the public this year.
Gracing the venue is the LG SIGNATURE hall, an elegant space aptly named after LG’s ultra-premium brand and global benefactor of the arts. Home to diverse, phenomenal performances, this hall is testimony to LG SIGNATURE’s firm dedication to cultivating the finest of culture. To celebrate the opening of LG Arts Center SEOUL as well as the LG SIGNATURE hall, LG on behalf of LG SIGNATURE hosted an exclusive performance series in November to deliver a “moving” experience – both literally and figuratively – to local art aficionados.

With two major performances, He Who Falls and Opening 2, this exciting series introduced Yoann Bourgeois, a dancer-choreographer and performance director with major standing in the global contemporary performing arts world, to the most sophisticated Seoulites. Possibly the most sought-after performance in the LG Arts Center SEOUL opening festival was He Who Falls, which treated LG SIGNATURE hall goers to a dynamic performance directed by Bourgeois and performed by the renowned National Choreographic Center of Grenoble. During the impressive show, its exceptionally talented dancers demonstrated seamlessly elegant movements on a rotating turntable to Frank Sinatra’s iconic song, My Way.
Meanwhile, Opening 2 offered a short yet mesmerizing glimpse into the grace, power and presence Bourgeois brings to the stage. LG SIGNATURE’s most distinguished customers and clients were invited to attend both shows so that they could fully understand the brand’s unique artistic approach to shaping customer experiences.

As to immerse visitors in truly aesthetic sensations, LG SIGNATURE set up a special exhibition and photo zone in the LG SIGNATURE hall’s main lobby. Echoing the unique architectural style of the LG Arts Center SEOUL conceived by virtuoso Tadao Ando, the exhibition zone provided a look into the LG SIGNATURE products synonymous with artistry, including LG SIGNATURE Wine Cellar, InstaView Door-in-Door Refrigerator and OLED R TV.
Elsewhere in the lobby was a fully interactive photo zone which brought Bourgeois’s performances to life again, leaving visitors with truly unforgettable impressions and sensitivities.
