Youtube App will stop playing/loading after a few videos

Question

Since a short while (maybe 2 weeks), the youtube app seems to have issues.

I can only play 2-3 videos consecutively, before it stops loading even the ads that come before each video, black screen only.

Funny enough, sometimes I am not even able to turn the TV off when this happens.

 

I already tried:

- Logout and back into my youtube acc.

- Uninstall the app from WebOS, turn TV off incl unplug power for 1+ minutes, reinstall the app.

- Reset the TV to factory default, reinstall everything.

 

Other apps work like a charm still, eg Netflix, Plex, other web based TV providers for local channels.

Youtube App used to work just fine for me, I would assume it has to do with a recent update.

 

For info, I am on a OLED55B7V

I also am posting a similar help request to the Youtube Forums.

I've been having sluggish YouTube lately as well.  A video will start and then the spinning busy indicator and a long delay.  I found that just disabling the internet and then reconnecting fixed it for a while.  I am connecting wirelessly, fwiw.  The internet provider switched from 100Mbps to 200Mbps and I thought somehow the change in speed might have screwed up the app.

      Since the start of this month using youtube is just hectic after one music its followed by an add, try watching something its like watching a series of ads, kindly add something on the web OS to manage this or if anyone has a solution kindly share

      I just purchased the LG UHD 43UP76 advertised as real 4k however the YouTube App is running at 1080p.  Which means 4k content is downsampled to 1080p then reupsampled to fit the 4k pixel grid and the image quality is awful.
      i assume WebOS runs at 1080p and simply upscales to 4k on low end 4k TVs, this same with high end TVs??
