43UK6750PLD - How can I switch between Antenna and SAT?

nMaib0

Question

I think I am going to return this TV. Not only is it hard to switch between these because they are not separated in the input section. The satellite channels, even the open ones are all locked. I don't get what the deal is with this TV, why is everything so wrong?

@nMaib0 I don't get FREESAT in my country, but I did see some info on another forum:

"TV has Freeview HD it will work on Saorview in ROI [or all the FREEVIEW+ channels that your UK regions can get] , the Freesat tuner will also only pick up the free to air channels that are authorised in your region."

I saw some advice a user had for setting up che very mixed "channels" that can come in from either tuner, maybe in odd orders.

Have a read of this first, to set up "Quick Access", if you have not already:

NOTE: this users input was for an ROI location, NOT UK, so treat this as examples only, and change details to suit your location and channel availability, and your local requirements:

"I set tv up as location Northern Ireland ->
Saorview now became Freeview but channels were not in order however it was easy to rearrange these channels as only a few
The EPG was fine
The FTA satellite channels were now in a decent order ie similar to SKY (bbc at start, gambling etc at the end)
The EPG took longer to load and also needed an extra click or two on the menu to choose the program.
As mentioned by David from Richer Sounds the two sets of channels are separate.
Easiest way I could find for the elder person to navigate between one and the other was below

If your LG tv is running Webos 3.5 (e.g. a recent model 2017 onwards ) you can set Quick Access favourites onto buttons 1 to 9 on the remote. Set RTE1 [or your main favourite channel] onto button 1 and BBC 1 in button 2 etc.

Now a long-press on 1 brings you to RTE1 (and the saorview/freeview epg) and a long press on 2 brings you to BBC1 and the Freesat epg. If you have the magic remote with voice command you can also say "change channel to BBC1 " etc and you will switch between epgs. Google "webOS-3-5-quick-access" for instructions"

I use an IPTV app to watch TV and would like it to start automatically when the TV is switched on. The TV insists switching on with the not working cable TV tuner.
      This is WebOS 5.5

I have a brand new LG OLEDC8PLA model and have both an input for my aerial and for my Satellite however i cannot seem to find anyway to switch from watching via my aerial, which is Spanish DTV and then switching to my Satellite to watch UK TV
I live in Spain hence the two systems.  When I press the home button on the remote the list is at the bottom  and displayed are LG Content Store HDMI3, LiveTV Freesat etc but no button with the aerial option, so the only way I can switch is to go into the main settings menu select Programme Tuning and switch the programme mode from Satellite to Antenna.
This does not seem a very smart way to be able to switch
Does anybody know if you can switch easily?

I have a problem with my LG 43NANO756PR: if an app is paused (for example a youtube video or music track is put in pause), after about two minutes the TV goes back to the TV antenna input. Very unpleasant if you are on the phone and need a quiet environment. Same thing if I mute the audio: after about 2 minutes the volume resumes as before.
Any way to sort this issue?

Designed in Partnership With Global Leader in Glazing Solutions,
LG’s Next-gen Transparent Antenna Delivers Seamless Design and Enhanced Telecommunications

SEOUL, Dec. 18, 2023 — LG Electronics (LG) will unveil its transparent antenna for automobiles at CES 2024. LG’s transparent film-type antenna, which is applied directly to vehicle glass, was designed in collaboration with renowned French glass manufacturer, Saint-Gobain Sekurit. A transformative telecommunications technology, the company’s transparent telematics solution is expected to make waves in the rapidly evolving mobility sector while further strengthening LG’s position in the automotive solutions market.
The automotive industry, where electric vehicles are now the norm and autonomous and software-defined vehicles are soon to arrive, is set for a connectivity revolution. This transformation demands cutting-edge telecommunications environments capable of real-time data exchange within high-tech personal spaces.
Designed for compatibility with various types of glass and vehicle designs, LG’s transparent antenna will be available as an on-glass or in-glass solution. The broad surface application of the film-type antenna guarantees reliable telecommunications performance and provides scalability to handle increased network traffic. Extremely adaptable, LG’s latest telematics innovation offers improved connectivity with support for 5G, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and Wi-Fi.
The transparent antenna can be seamlessly integrated in car windshields or glass sunroofs. This means vehicle manufacturers don’t have to make any design concessions when developing new models as it removes the need for the kind of housing typically required to accommodate conventional antennas. The film-type antenna features more than 80 of LG’s patented innovations, including the design capability to make antenna patterns transparent and transparent electrode technology. LG, in partnership with Saint-Gobain Sekurit, enhanced product integrity by developing a method to apply the transparent antenna onto glass. The leading glass maker is equipping electric vehicles worldwide.
“We’re pleased to unveil our smart glass featuring LG’s transparent antenna technology,” said Thibaut Heitz, Innovation and R&D Director of Saint-Gobain Sekurit. “In collaboration with LG, a leader in vehicle component solutions, we are pioneering advancements in vehicle telecommunications. Our common objective aim is to provide an enriched and unique in-vehicle environment, bringing the future of mobility to fruition.”
“Created through our close partnership with Saint-Gobain Sekurit, the transparent antenna is a next-generation product that has proven its exceptional communications performance for automotive applications via vehicle tests,” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of LG Vehicle component Solutions Company. “As a global leader in telematics and automotive solutions, LG is committed to advancing its technological capabilities and will continue to introduce new solutions that drive the evolution of the mobility experience.”

I don't believe this is currently an option so forgive me if I'm wrong. But it we oukd be great to have an option to switch between bright room and dark room modes at a user specified time. My room is dark at night but fairly bright during the day. So, I'd love to have the option to switch modes at a defined time, much like a blue light filter on a phone. I want bright mode from 7am to 8pm and dark from 8pm to 7am, etc.
Aside from that I'd like to be able to turn the remote mouse off completely if desired.
