WebOs 4.5 Multi-view?

Rolando

Question

Hello everyone,

I just got the 50UM7500BSP TV, so i know that the webOS 3.0 and 3.5 has the function of Multi-view, where you can see two entrys of video at the same time spliting the screen.

So my answer is the webOS 4.5 has that function? because i cant do it on my TV (well know is up to date at webOS 4.7). I ask to the LG support and they told me that yes it has it, but i cant find it, i dont know if its a app now or what.

Please help me, i need this function.

Hi all, I have my LG UJ701V with software 05.80.50 and I don't have multiview. I had an idea that in the beginning I had this option, but apparently not. It's possible to install any app or webos to have multi view? Even if it's live tv and hdmi as @Timsaid doesn't work. In the home button and app's I don't have that option....

Answer from LG was they want to check if more customers need this function. Now I have 3 OLEDs at home.

C8 HDMI + HDMI possible

C9 TV + HDMI possible

CX no multiview integrated

i think it’s a dead end for this function after the evolution from C8 to CX.

That's a shame. I guess I'll write them as well then, and get an HDMI switch or something with the feature. I recently started using mine as a monitor for my Mac and PC, which works great so far except that I would like to be able to see both side-by-side rather than having to switch channels back and forth.

Thanks for the update!

Is this TV hardware thing OR WebOS Version thing? Why did they mess this up?

What does LG even mean when they say they are waiting to gauge “customer interest”?   What is their technology that replaces or improves on  multi-view/picture-in-picture? Purchasing a second monitor?  That IS a solution, but quite a wasteful and expensive one.  My second monitor will NOT be an LG. PIP is such an expected feature I neglected to check for it.  I also did not check for a volume button on the remote.   There is no reason for customer interest to go away on either of these “features”.

With C9 TV+HDMI is possible, with CX you don’t have Multiview anymore.

if you need 2 HDMI, C8 or older is the way to go

Dang!

Given that all TVs are going to give more Digital Real Estate - Bigger Sizes and 4K / 8K screens, it would make sense for them to give users WAYS to use it/ Multi Task the Multi Views

What about for Non OLED LG TVs and Multi View?

      Hello everyone.
I own a TV LG oled65c31la.aeu. I am interested in whether it is planned in the next firmware updates to return to multiview the
option of displaying two live channels (antenna dvt2), as it was earlier in webos 2.
Previously, a buffer was created in which terrestrial channels were saved, from where they were marked for display.
      Thank you.

      Hey,
My question is, can I install webos4.0 or higher on my lg 49uj701v, for example via a USB stick with an .apk ? I would like to download Paramount+.
      Thanks a lot

On LG OLEDs. You go on and disable SIMPLINK. Fine. But everytime you turn on your HDMI device it enables itself back again. This happens because they have disables two key features that were present in previous OSs, as you can see clearly here
link hidden, please login to view (they even put screencaps of the menus where you see the missing options in the 23) These functions are Auto Power Sync and Auto Device Detection.
Man updates are supposed to add functionalities not the other way around. It's very annoying to turn on your TV and have your AVR turn on without you wanting to.

Anyone found a solution for this problem?

      Hi all,
I'm wondering how you can get into the service menu (In Start) on an old LG Smart TV (42LB630V) running WebOS 1.4.  I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) with a IR blaster, I have tried sending '0x04FB 0xFB04' to I which should be IR code to enter the menu, but that doesn't work.
I have also tried entering it with the SSAP-Web, but I get:
error: 500 Application error {"errorCode":-101,"returnValue":false,"errorText":"\"com.webos.app.factorywin\" was not found OR Unsupported Application Type" The SAPP-Web app does works though, because the TV does respond to Get info
{ "returnValue": true, "product_name": "webOS", "model_name": "HE_DTV_WT1M_AFAAABAA", "sw_type": "FIRMWARE", "major_ver": "05", "minor_ver": "05.90", "country": "omitted", "device_id": "omitted", "auth_flag": "N", "ignore_disable": "N", "eco_info": "01", "config_key": "00", "language_code": "en-GB" } The reason I want to access the menu is because I've enabled DEBUG mode on my TV through the NVM method and I want to enter a root shell trough UART to enable SSH and root access.
      Gaining root access through NVM:
