I have my LG TV UH7700 for more than 2 years now and the Magic Remote worked fine until 3 days ago, I remember the was a recent firmware update. Now I have the same problem you posted, I registered and de-registered it multiple times and it works at some point but then doesn’t do more than turn the tv on and off. Sometimes it starts to work, but then stops again. At certain times it fails to register, but then, it is when it works and do more functions for a while, until it registers again and stops working. Have changed batteries, and done everything recommended, but still fails. I guess it is a firmware/software problem.

Hello!

I have found the simplest solution from another forum, and worked perfectly for me:

Here was my solution, after suffering the exact same issue (Hitting the OK/Scroll button resulted in "Bluetooth service needs to be initialized").

1. Turn off the TV
2. Unplug the TV
3. Wait 15 seconds
4. Plug in the TV
5. Turn on the TV via the power button on the TV itself (Not the remote)
6. Click the OK/Scroll button on the remote

This should initialize a pairing. Hopefully this helps somebody that has the same issue.

I Had this problem also and found buy making sure the TV was properly turned off each time I shut it down, then the TV and Remote always connect properly.

Go to Settings / General / Quick start+ (to OFF)

This will make sure the TV turns properly off and not just goes to sleep.

This fixed the remote control issue for me....

My magic remote and my Roku remote stopped working for turning off power so I performed a factory reset after troubleshooting to get the remote working.  I am now stuck at the 1st screen of the Factory Reset which says "Press the OK Button(wheel) on your remote."  Well... this really stinks because the remote doesn't work!!!  I have tried a USB mouse, a new magic remote, other LG Remotes with no luck.  I have also tried using the button on the bottom of the tv.  And, I contacted support which was just an exercise in redoing everything I had already tried... No Luck!!
This is a Nano Cell 55NANO81ANA which is basically just a big brick now since I cannot even use any of the inputs.  Does anyone have a trick for getting past this initial screen???
      Thanks for the help.

The specs for the magic remote promise "Voice Recognition with Intuitive Mouse Like Pointing and Wheel Control". I think that would be nice. The current implementation of scrolling via the wheel on the magic remote is not intuitive. Why would I move my thumb up to pull the text shown on the screen down to the bottom?
Question is, can we please get natural scrolling for WebOS 5.5.0 and newer? Some option in the settings would be fine. The current "unnatural" scrolling is a major obstacle in usability for me, and the main reason to not buy LG again.

II hope in a future update we are given the option to disable the annoying pointer on the Magic Remote.
      VERY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!

When using the Fubo app with my magic remote the app goes wildly crazy as I move the remote around. If I do not press the center button to activate the pointer navigation works using left right up down .

      Hey everyone,
I'm new here, so first of all, hello I'm delos.
I own two LG OLED55G19 TVs, one at home and one elsewhere. At home, I have a QNAP NAS (TS451) with DLNA functionality. Accessing it at home works great.
The "Home" and "External" networks are connected via VPN. Thus, both networks have different network addresses.
Now I want to access the home network from the external network with the LG via VPN in order to integrate the DLNA server. The LG doesn't "see" the external server because it's not in the same network. However, I wonder why you can't just enter the IP address of the server in the LG.
      Does anyone have a solution?

      Many greetings
      delos
