LG WebOs for Jio App &Hot star App

Question

LG Team,

Recently brought the LG 49 " 4K TV. But looks like made a big mistake brought the fully smart TV with LG.  Many apps not available like Jio/Hot star apps into the smart . SO FINALLY LG is not a smart TV it's like ordinary TV. Can you confirm when these apps will be available in LG webstore to install in devices

Let us know

No we cannot tell you when the apps will be available as this is a user-to-user forum and not an official LG board.  So as such we do not have knowledge of what individual vendors are doing in the way of producing  apps for the webOS platform.  If you want an app for a service that is currently unsupported yes let the forum know so other users can gauge if it would be useful to them, but you would need to get in direct contact with the service provider to fully aware that there is a real desire for webOS support.

It's a smart tv. But most of the smart tv have the  hotstar and jio apps .. in that preinstalled apps like yup and other .. no one like it

Hi,

Sadly at this point in time as the apps you wish for are not available from the content providers on LG's webOS platform then it is not the TV for you.  Something running Android may be a better bet for you.

Agree, this is a smart TV. But the competitor   Samsung has many more apps compared to LG. There is no commitment from LG about these apps like Spectrum, Hotstar and many more. This is very as a consumer we are feeling that LG is not a smart TV.

    • Question: gigabit ethernet on smart TV

Hello, Is there any way of installing an usb gigabit network adapter on a webos smart TV?  The builtin wired adapter is only 100mbps (on a 2000$+ TV, shame  on you LG!!!)  while the wifi (N) is very poor, with the router at 1m from TV it only gets half the bandwidth of the wired network. Anyway the wired network  maxes out near 100mbps but I need more bandwidth as I have 4k video content with bitrates grater than 100mbps which I cannot stream without stuttering to TV through XPLAY/PLEX.

    • Ridiculous "fireworks" showing on top off apps like Spotify

When are we finally getting the option to turn off the ridiculous "fireworks" screensaver? I didn't spend thousands on a new TV to watch this screen every 2 minutes, and especially not when I am playing Spotify songs and can't see what songs are up next or even follow lyrics! It's one thing to build features to prevent build-in, but another if they make using the TV properly a problem. Give us the ability to choose for ourselves if we want this protection or not, and don't force our hands p
