TV turns itself on / What keyboard?

WynQat

Question

I have on several occasions turned my TV off,  upon leaving the house and returning to it blaring away on some random channel on YouTube! What would be the cause of this? Is there a way to turn it "OFF" off and not just standby mode?

Second question: What type of keyboard could I use for my TV and how does one install it so the TV picks it up? I hate using the on-screen unit!

Youtube only lets you type numbers, and not letters. Amazon doesn't let you type anything unless you use the really really really slow onscreen keyboard. It's ruining the tv experience. Can't search for topics or shows without the slow drugery of the slow remote and onscreen keyboard.

Is something ms configured or is WebOs really this awful?

      Hi,
I have my LG 4K Smart TV -Model : 43UJ632T.
I could not able to use the Wireless Keyboard ( Logitech K230) with Builtin Apps like Youtube, Amazon Prime or in Netflix to search. I could able to use only thru Magic Remote.
But the same Keyboard is working fine in Google Movies & SunNXT apps.
Could you please help me in fixing the same.
      Thanks,
      Sriram.

I have an LG tv 43UP77006LB.BEKFLJP. Just recently, having owned the tv for a couple of years, the tv has taken to switching itself on during the night, usually at about 2.00 am. The tv is connected to a TalkTalk box for recording purposes but that has never caused an issue before. It appears to coincide with connecting a DVD player using an HDMI cable to the tv, although it was only connected for a short time and is now disconnected, so it may be irrelevant.

It appears to be a common problem.

      Thanks.

      G'day,
Many apps will bring up an alphabetised layout of keys rather than the more conventional QWERTY keyboard.
Is there a way of overriding this so that a conventional QWERTY layout can be used?
      Thanks.
