Hi VanFleets~I wish I had better news, but I thought it would be worth sharing the info I received this morning from LG support over the phone. I just bought the LG 43LJ55 which will not download user agreements. I tried all the suggestions I saw on this forum, including factory reset, changing the DNS to Google’s 8.8.4.4 and then 8.8.8.8, and checking for software updates.  Nothing worked, even though the tv was connected to my WiFi. I called LG. The woman I spoke with walked me through connecting the tv to the personal hotspot from my iPhone. Even when that was done and the tv was connected to WiFi through my iPhone, I still could not download the user agreements. The woman walked me through a few of the things I had already tried, but nothing worked. At that point, she told me I need to call back for ‘Level 2 Tech Support’ after the New Year. I am returning the TV to Best Buy tomorrow. This just doesn’t seem reasonable to deal with all of this. What’s worse is seeing all of the same complaints I’m seeing in this forum and on other sites. Some users were fortunate to have some of these remedies work, but when the woman said I needed a higher level of support, I am not trusting there is a fix at all.  Good luck!

UPDATE: I scrolled through all of the forum replies and realized I had not tried one possible solution that a user posted (and that the LG support person did suggest, but didn’t work). I pressed the home button on the remote, chose ‘web browser,’ then on the screen appeared four tiles with different websites. I used the arrow buttons to choose the Google tile, which then prompted me to enter my WiFi password again. Once I did that, it prompted me to download the user agreements, which did not work on the first attempt, but it did when I tried a second time. I am now able to use Netflix.  The user that posted this solution said it was necessary to first try to go to a website (he chose Google) through the browser before being able to get through the user agreement process. The LG support person had me do this, but she had me type the address for Facebook in the address bar. That did not work. Choosing the Google tile did. Hope this helps you!

Hi Peggy

Glad you was able to get it going. I myself got my TV up to par as well. For some reason it was the Ethernet cable that caused the problem. I have WiFi as well hooked up to the TV  so I thought I would try disconnecting the cable and it worked. I don't know why but it did. Downloaded all agreement's and re plugged in the Ethernet cable and all is well..

I had my IT department on the phone with me and LG support and we tried everything. Tried different ports, cables, all the different ways LG said and nothing worked.  The reset, trying to go through google, just couldn't bring up the service agreement.  LG is sending a service out to look at my TV. I had to take it off the mount to be services.  I have bought 6- 65", a 49, and 43" and this is the first time this has ever happened and it happened to be the TV for my office. I was happy to pay more for LG products because i have never had any problems and they were quality products. I am questioning this decision right now.

      Hi there,

I have an LG smart TV OLED65G36LA (LG OS v03.20.17, webOS TV version 8.20.0-710) , and the Prime Video App was no longer able to update (from Dec 2025) and therefore could no longer be used.
I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing, and that was unable to work, so then applied a full reset on the LG TV and so had to reinstall all of my other apps (Apple TV, Netflix, etc etc) which all successfully downloaded so confirmed network connections and setup are all confirmed working.
When I try to download the Prime Video app, it remains stuck on the download screen and is unable to update.
      Thanks

Agreement Highlights Company’s Global Leadership in Wi-Fi Standard Technologies

SEOUL, Nov. 20, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) has signed a patent license agreement with Amazon, granting the use of LG’s Wi-Fi Standard Essential Patents (SEPs).
Under this agreement, Amazon obtains a license to use LG’s Wi-Fi SEPs in products utilizing Wi-Fi connectivity, including Amazon’s Echo devices, Fire TV Sticks and Fire Tablets.
LG is currently engaged in Wi-Fi SEP licensing discussions with several global companies that employ Wi-Fi standard technologies. The agreement with Amazon further underscores LG’s technological leadership and credibility in the global Wi-Fi standards domain.
SEPs refer to core patents that must be practiced when implementing an international technical standard – meaning any product using that standard inevitably relies on the patented technology.  Once a technology is adopted as an international standard by global standardization organizations, companies around the world incorporate it into their products. Recognition as an SEP signifies both the contribution to advancing the entire industry and its technological value.
LG holds one of the world’s strongest patent portfolios in key standard technology fields, including mobile communications, Wi-Fi, broadcasting and codecs. As of the first half of this year, LG owned 97,880 registered patents globally, about half of which are standard-related patents.* The company’s innovative patented technologies, applied across flagship products such as OLED TVs, washing machines and refrigerators, continue to reinforce its global competitiveness.
Looking ahead, LG aims to further strengthen its patent leadership in emerging technology areas such as 6G mobile communications, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications, artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing. In its vehicle solutions business, LG has also been recognized for leadership in augmented reality (AR) technologies, earning top honors for its pioneering AR navigation patent.
Since 2022, LG has formally included the licensing of patents and other intellectual property rights in its corporate charter – accelerating efforts to build sustainable value through IP-driven innovation.
“This agreement reaffirms LG’s global leadership in Wi-Fi standard technologies,” said Cho Hwi-jae, head of LG’s Intellectual Property Center. “We will continue to drive innovation worldwide by building on our industry-leading patent competitiveness.”

      * According to LG Electronics’ 2025 semiannual report, the company holds 26,762 domestic patents and 71,118 overseas patents. (Source:  link hidden, please login to view).

Improved Access to News Content and Strengthened Broadcast Partnerships Inspire
      Double-Digit Growth Across Multiple Regions

SEOUL, Aug. 8, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is advancing LG Channels viewership growth across the world, thanks to its intuitive user interface and growing variety of content. As part of this effort, LG is partnering with leading broadcasters and news organizations across multiple regions to add more news streams to the platform, making them both relevant to local audiences and easier to access and explore.
Starting this month, LG Channels news content can also be accessed directly from the home screen via newly introduced News Portal. Rolled out via Q-Card in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, the U.K. and Germany on TVs running webOS 25, this feature is expected to expand to more platforms later this year – supporting further news consumption growth, thanks to the company’s free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service.
In the U.S., LG Smart TV users can access a wide array of news channels through LG Channels News Hub, a curated source for free, ad-supported news channels. The News Hub is made possible through partnerships with multiple leading national and local broadcasters whose channels are available in the News Hub, including NBCUniversal, Disney, FOX Television Stations, Bloomberg Media, Warner Bros. Discovery, Allen Media Group’s Local Now, E.W. Scripps, Sinclair Broadcast Group and others. In addition, users can still access news channels through the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) on their LG Smart TVs.
LG Channels also provides localized content from Local Now channels, Allen Media Group’s free news streaming service, which delivers over 220 local channels in every U.S. ZIP code.
Expanding its offerings for Spanish-speaking viewers, LG collaborated with NBCUniversal News Group earlier this year to introduce Telemundo Station Group’s 24/7 streaming news channels. These channels – Telemundo Noticias California, Telemundo Noticias Texas, Telemundo Noticias Florida and Telemundo Noticias Noreste – deliver regional news coverage.
These partnerships have been a key driver of the double-digit linear growth the LG Channels service has seen in the U.S., year-over-year. LG’s efforts to strengthen regional news access through LG Channels were recognized in June 2025 with the Award for Achievement in Local Broadcasting at the ITVT/TVOT 21st Annual Awards for Leadership in Interactive and Multiplatform Television. This honor underscores the company’s commitment to advancing news content delivery through partnerships with trusted local broadcasters.
“Our goal with LG Channels has always been to make high-quality, relevant content accessible to everyone,” said Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “By working with trusted news providers and powerful broadcasters across regions and continuously improving how users discover and access content, we are making local and national news more approachable, timely and meaningful within everyday viewing.”
LG Channels viewing time has increased in Mexico and Brazil as local news content becomes more available. In Mexico, major local broadcasters TV Azteca, Multimedios and Grupo Imagen joined LG Channels this year, strengthening its local news lineup. TV Azteca’s FIA has emerged as the most-watched channel among the 190 channels available on LG Channels in Mexico, underscoring strong demand for quality local news. These additions have driven a 95 percent year-over-year increase in viewing hours in Mexico.
In Brazil, LG Channels has expanded local news offerings with the launch of New Brasil in partnership with Grupo Bandeirantes – one of the country’s leading broadcasters – CNN Brasil, and Times Brasil – Licenciado Exclusivo CNBC. Since these launches, the platform’s viewing hours in Brazil have increased by more than 40 percent, with CNN Brasil the most-watched.
LG also continues to expand the availability of local news content on LG Channels across Europe. In markets like the U.K. and France, news partnerships have driven strong month-over-month growth, with double-digit increases in viewership. Currently, over 100 news channels including BFM TV (France), GB News (UK), CNN International (UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland), CNN Headlines (available in 16 European countries), Bloomberg Television (UK), Euronews IN DIRETTA (Italy) and CNN en Español (Spain) are available, with more channels, such as France 24, scheduled to launch soon.
In Spain, LG Channels has added content through a landmark partnership with RTVE, the national public broadcaster. Viewers can now enjoy RTVE’s premium content for free, including flagship channels La 1, La 2 and Canal 24 Horas (24H) – the latter being a trusted source for real-time national and international news.
Strong local news content is increasing viewing time across other regions as well. In Australia, the addition of Sky News Australia, a leading national news network with a loyal viewership, has boosted engagement significantly. In Korea, local news from major outlets such as TV Chosun, JTBC, MBN, Channel A and YTN consistently garner the most viewing time among the 130 channels available on LG Channels.
In India, LG Channels offers a wide selection of FAST news channels to meet local demand for timely, diverse information. As of June 2025, news accounts for over 40 percent of all viewing time, with news channels dominating the platform’s top 10. LG Channels features over 40 news channels in eight regional languages. Among these, Aaj Tak is the most-watched nationwide, with other major Hindi-language channels including India TV, Republic Bharat, TV9 Bharatvarsh and NDTV India.

I have recently purchased an LG 55QNED86 television. I am located in Iran. Everything seems to be working fine, but when I click on any of the options, it tells me I must first consent to the LG Smart TV user agreement. However, I then get a message saying "Unable to load user agreements - a server error has occurred ......"
      Can you help?
