Scheduled Recording to USB HDD when TV in Standby Mode not working

Recommended Posts

I have a LG 55UH615T SmartTV.

1. I setup a few scheduled recordings from the digital TV (via Guide),

2. I have connected a USB HDD to the TV and

3. I then set the TV to standby (i.e. I switch off the TV but the power to the TV is still on).

4. Also, I disabled the HDD Eco mode to ensure the HDD don't go to sleep.

However, the TV doesn't record when the TV is on standby mode. Can anybody tell me how I can record when the TV is on standby mode?

    • Question: Power on/off sound (melody)

Hi, M y TV (SK8000) started to play a short melody whenever I turn it on/off, I can't find anything in the settings that controls it, any idea how I disable it? It seems to start after I connected an Onkyo receiver to the TV via the HDMI ARC port, but I am not sure. I also entered to the IN_START and EZ_ADJUST menus but didn't change anything... Any ideas? Thx.

    • Question: Pages reload on switch

Hi, I own an LG Smart TV (43LK5900PLA) and I seem to have an issue with the browser. If I have more than one tab opened if I switch between them, they refresh / reload. The thing is this doesn't always happen and I haven't been able to figure out why. One thing is for sure - it is really, really, REALLY annoying and makes browsing the internet impossible on websites that have pop-ups. You may ask why. Well, because they usually open a pop-up whenever you make your first click. Pop-ups open in a new tab and the browser automatically switches to it. After closing (or going to the initial website tab) it reloads and .. well.. the pop-up again. Also, it's impossible to check e-mails and open links too. Same story. You click on a link, a new tab opens and when you go back to the e-mail it reloads and the e-mail is opened no more. Like I said, this doesn't happen every time. 90% of the times, regardless of what sites I open, of what I have opened when the browser opens. The LG webOS is up to date and I've tried clearing the history and 'clearing the cache ' in the browser. Nothing works so I'm pretty disappointed. Thanks in advance.

    • Question: Glitchy recordings from USB disk

Hi, I've recently purchased a LG 43UK6300PLB, which by and large has been excellent! But I'm having problems with recording to USB. So far I've tried a 500GB drive I had spare, but its probably 7-8 years old, and I've tried an SSD as well. Tried the 500GB in an older USB2 external caddy and in a more recent USB3, and the SSD in the USB3. Both were formatted to NTFS. When I come to watch the recording, I get what looks like signal breakup where I might lose a second or so of the recording. Its not constant either, there might be a 10 second period where the quality is really bad and broken, and then maybe a minute of it being OK. I've tried the USB3 caddy with external 5V power added in too, 2A supply. Same problem happens if I pause live TV, and then unpause it a little later. Normal TV picture quality is fine, I've got good signal here and never see this on normal viewing. Wondered if anyone had suggestions? Is it worth trying a USB stick instead? Running out of ideas with this one. Thanks

    • Question: Pop up messages on TV:wired LAN disconnected, then Network connected

For the past few months I am getting intermittent pop up messages on my TV. 1st one says Wired LAN disconnected, then another message pops up and says Network connected. I have been calling my cable carrier Spectrum and Techs have been here and can't find problem. Also I went to check my wifi on my TV and my user name and connections aren't showing up all of a sudden. This TV was just purchased May 2017. What is going on and how to resolve!!

    • Question: TV's User Guide DOA!

My brand new 75UK6190PUB  TV's  USER GUIDE  seems to have no response once reaching its home page. I press HOME on the remote .  Then select the USER GUIDE app from the bottom of the screen. The home page of the USER GUIDE displays full screen with NONE of the topics highlighted. All attempts to progress in the guide fail including the arrow keys. The only remote button button that works is EXIT (and POWER of course). Using the USER GUIDE on a Chromebook from the LG website seems to work fine. I have NOT attempted to upgrade the firmware yet, allowing for the possibility that I am doing an incorrect action. I forgot to gather my product's S/N & current firmware version when composing this message on my desktop PC, but will provide them upon request. I do not yet have a keyboard and mouse connected to the TV yet, and am using other devices to use this forum.

I use Enigma2 for watching TV, recording etc.
      Is WebOS an alternative?
      Enigma2 can:
      Unlimited number of simultaneous recordings.
      Streaming (Intranet and Internet)
Softcam (for pay-TV card) <= Alternative: support for "Unicam" etc.
      NAS instead of USB HDD.
      Unencrypted recordings.

      Hi
I've got the LG OLED55B7V. I have connected a Chromecast to HDMI4 and USB power from USB port 3. Is there any way to not turn off usb power on this USB port, or any other USB port, when turning off the TV?
Since webOS still doesn't have a Spotify app i need a Chromecast to listen to music, and so i would like to have the Chromecast powered from the TV but the TV turned off. I know i can use screenmode to only turn off the screen, but since i can't enable that with a single button from my remote control this isn't a good enough solution.

Make 2017 TV sets that have latest USB ports, at least 3.0 so it is possible to find a compatible USB HDD  WebOS will work properly with.
Install sufficient memory to run WebOS Apps without constant restarts or inform customers  apps may not work properly.
Put a clearly accessible filer by Genre choice from the main program guide (something Toshiba TV and others have had for many years on their EPG's). Going out of the main EPG into the limited snapshot guide then finding the sort by Genre option is clunky.  A zoom function on the main EPG to show more than just a couple of hours ahead would be ideal as well. Even my £70 supermarket own brand TV can manage these simple functions so come on LG match up.

Hi, I have a 43uj635v running webos3.5, and a few external hard drives. I only got it 2 days ago. My 2tb Seagate expansion works with the TV, and also a 1tb works, but I try and use my Seagate 2tb back up plus slim, and it doesn't find it. Sometimes it says unknown usb device connected, and sometimes it says please reconnect after disconnecting, and that pops up quite a few times, until you remove it. I just don't get why one 2tb drive works, but another, newer one doesn't. But they both work perfectly with my old LG tv, and with PC's and my xbox
