Lag/buffring when Streaming from NAS

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have recently purchased LG 32LH602D TV which has WebOS3 Version 03.20.08. I usually stream Pictures/ Audio/Video from my WD NAS drive. Previously i had Samsung Smart TV and streaming has never been any issue. Now setup is same only change is Samsung has been replaced by LG TV and I am facing issue streaming, Pictures take lot of time to buffer/ videos take time initially to buffer and then again stop in between to buffer. Spoke to some local LG technicians without any help. Is there any know issue. I do see lot of lag even while changing menus like settings on TV.

I am using LG Photo & Video app to stream, been reading Plex availability in LG store but I don’t find it there,… is it available or removed?

My setup is .

NAS connected to router via LAN cable / TV connected to same router via LAN cable ( tested Wifi as well but same issue)

My all other devices can stream from same NAS device without any issue Wifi or LAN

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

Showkat

Asking this hear, since I could not seem to find a better place... Wake on LAN only works for a few minutes after TV is turned off?  If I turn of LG TV (WebOS 8.x) and then send a Wake on LAN (WoL) packet, it works.  If turn off the LG TV, then I wait about 15 minutes or so, then send the same WoL sequence, using the same code, script, etc., it fails, the LG TV never turns on.  THe LG TV is configured both for wired ethernet (preferred) and WiFi.  Any idea why this behavior?  It almost seems like the LG TV goes into standby, via phone app, remote, even CEC, etc., then drops from the network?  Mobile is enabled on the TV, hence the phone app works.  Why would the LG TV stop responding to WoL packets?

Smart remote constantly disconnects. I’ve pushed home and back button and when trying to setup remote receive error message “Bluetooth service needs to be inialized”
Ive tried everything suggested on the internet to include turning off tv waiting 15,30,60 seconds and trying again. Eventually it will reset up but then will will disconnect. Extremely frustrating and tv is really unusable when this happens. The worst is getting into a streaming app and the remote fails and can’t get out without turning tv off. I would list tv model # but since I started this message remote has disconnected again. Help very much appreciated
      thx

I have problems with one of my WebOS TVs which looks like a speed problem, but when I do a speed check on my iPhone from just a few feet away the connection speed looks fine.  Thanks,  Bob

      Hello.

Some tutorials explain how to do it.
We first need to root the TV with scripts such as RootMyTV, and then install dts_restore.
Both tools are free and available at github.
I'm not writing the links because I don't know if it's allowed in this forum and because I take no responsibility.

      My question is:
Has anybody tried this process? Does it work?
The documentation says if you have any problem you can just factory reset the TV, but I don't dare to do it.
