x265 videos do not play via SmartShare DLNA!

I want x265 encoded videos to play via DLNA. At the moment I can play them only if I copy them to a USB drive and I attach the drive directly to the TV which is a really poor user experience.

This is absolutely critical given that x265 will become more and more popular, not to mention a lot of native 4K content is available in this format. What is the point of having a TV that can accept x265 format over USB and not over Wireless?

another plus one.

 

In fact, this is the main reason I purchased this TV as I'm a 4K content creator and I want to display client content over my local network.

 

I have contacted LG about this and not only will they not commit to a date when this will be done, they won't even commit to fixing it all. Ever.

 

I'm just about to return by £2k+ 55" LG OLED TV for this reason. OK and others. Apart from the picture quality, which is without doubt superb, it's just not very good compared to high end Samsung products.

 

For example:- single tuner only, no ITV Player or 4OD, only 3 HDMI ports oh but that's OK because you get SCART - SCART! it's 2016, who the hell wants SCART in 2016, stupid connector location (while I'm in rant mode), un-intuitive  cartoon operating system, which is fine if you like un-intuitive cartoon operating systems.  I don't.  etc, etc

 

So in summary, not Lucky, no Goldstar then. My first and last LG purchase. I really should have known better, although I didn't see any of this in all the glowing reviews I read before purchase.

      I know this was mentioned before. I'd like to support this.
      WebOS is such a great and versatile system; a real media centre. BUT: I have a number of video files that it simply doesn't play. VLC, e.g. does, but is not available. 
      To me it is such a pity that I have to have a system in parallel (actually a PC!) to play those files, with VLC, and then switch to HDMI to watch the clips on my TV. This doesn't look very much like 2026, as far as I am concerned.

      After the update to 33.22.80 some videos doesn't work anymore

      i've updated an oled 42C3 to software version 33.22.80 and after this update some videos doesn't work anymore, last week no problem. I have other videos with the same format and codecs and work, so i don't have any idea what can be the issue.

      So i have a brand new OLED 65inch, the Sky now APP installed on the tv wont play the UHD content from sky, I do have the right subscription and when i use a amazon fire stick with the Now app installed it will play UHD Content, i just cant figure out why the tv installed app wont play it.  The Tv will play UDH content from other apps installed on the TV so i know its capable just something between the TV and Now app wont allow UHD Content, any ideas???

      link hidden, please login to view was fine up to about one month ago. I do not know if there was an upgrade, but videos from that site  cannot be played any longer on this tv. From the same wifi network (home network) videos from that site play fine to a number of devices (Android phones, 2 win11 laptops, 1 win10 laptop).
      Adjusted all browser settings (JavaScript, cookies), cleared cookies, cleared all browser data and history. 
      No updates available to download
      Finally, reset to factory settings but still videos from cannot be played on the tv set.
