Where is webOS headed in the future?

Now that HP has dropped it's webOS hardware and firesaled everything (got a touchpad), the question is what's next? There are some rumors online about licensing, purchases by other companies, who knows. Are we going to see new hardware?

Some are saying that Samsung is a potential buyer, or even HTC. Maybe they's just license it from HP? What are your thoughts?

dont forget that samsung licenses winmo7 and android , so its still on the table that they could license webOS to get more product out the door .

Really? Samsung CEO said never to purchasing, right? I would hope licensing is still on the table. Do you feel that there will be more than one licensee?

They better decide soon or at least announce some direction. There's allot of competition out there and it's just going to get worse for webos the later it gets rolling. My concern is that we don't see it on mobile phones but just on tablets, printers, etc.

If its not rumors of new hardware then webOS in the consumer point of view will die !

      It is unprofessional on part of LG TV that they do not resolve the basic issue of adding app gCmob in their app store.
      My 50UT80506LA LG WebOs TV does not support my office security camera system via wifi to TV.  We need (gCmob app) in list of app.
      I can't connect my office camera via Wi-Fi to LG-TV. No body in LG TV technical team is proactive in resolving the issue of customer. They are more happy to befool the customers, rather than looking for technical solution through wider thinking.
      Please talk to you top management and make a visit to our office to understand the customers plight..
      Please respond to customers needs.

      BUG!!! Audio over ARC always muted since WebOS 5.5 update on lg-oled65c9pla

      Since my lg-oled65c9pla auto-updated to WebOS 5.5, there is a new bug.
      The TV is connected to my Cambridge Audio Evo 75 amplifier over ARC - on powering the TV, it has always started up the amp, and switched it to use audio, instead of the appalling TV speakers. The whole setup has worked flawlessly for 5 years, but since WebOS 5.5, the amplifier starts, but is left in a muted state, and using the un-mute or volume controls on the TV remote makes no difference to turning on audio. The only way to get audio to play though my amp a speakers is to turn the amp's volume dial or press a volume button on the a amp's remote - this then unmutes the TV and audio is back. 
      There is no setting I can find in the TV that relates to whether the ARC channel starts muted or not...
      No software has changed in my amp.  This is an annoying new bug in the TV software, I assume down to some CEC changes.

      I have noticed a problem with webOS, i have С4 OLED and G5 OLED - and all of them running videos on youtube at low 1080p or no higher that 1440p with 50/60p - and i don't understand why.. everywhere else is fine, but on webOS is 50/50 i tried every codec possible and everytime my videos stuck on 1080p or 1440p - it's a problem! please fix it! 
      PS everything is fine if i upload 4k25p or 4k30p
      PSS it's a problem only on webOS - on PC or android everything is OK.
