Can I play videos from a hard drive on webOS?

I have a lg 47lb650v and I've just connected a western digital hard drive unit full with video files. However, webOS can't seem to read any of them. I've put some one a flash drive and it read them smoothly.

Is there a way to get to read the files on the hdd?

      Immediately following the major LG webOS firmware upgrade last week, our OLED65G2PSA is damaged. A white line appears top to bottom of screen in from the left hand side & the tv either fails to turn on, or shuts itself down shortly after.       Hi all, last week I got my new LG 65" C4 Oled delivered.
      I investigated using first a 32Gb memory stick for recording live programmes and pause live TV facility.
      I was able to record programmes but the Live TV would not work 🥲
      The LG usb is the slower 2.0 spec but I read that most low current SSD drives should still work fine with 2.0
      Today I received a 240Gb drive with Sata to usb 3.0 cable (3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0).
      I can confirm that everyting works fine and for just £17.40 I now have pause live TV and loads of space for recording programmes.
      I used AliExpress and they if you buy using the "choice" option you get free 7day delivery to UK with detailed tracking 👍

      As the title say, it is unfortunate that we cannot have access in those two apps and as far as I know many ppl waiting for them to be added… Hope to see them soon in webos app list. Thank you in advance.
