Prime Video unable to update/install on LG TV OLED65G36LA WebOs 8.20.0-710

Question

Hi there,

I have an LG smart TV OLED65G36LA (LG OS v03.20.17, webOS TV version 8.20.0-710) , and the Prime Video App was no longer able to update (from Dec 2025) and therefore could no longer be used.

I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing, and that was unable to work, so then applied a full reset on the LG TV and so had to reinstall all of my other apps (Apple TV, Netflix, etc etc) which all successfully downloaded so confirmed network connections and setup are all confirmed working.

When I try to download the Prime Video app, it remains stuck on the download screen and is unable to update.

Thanks

Same. Have a similar issue, but on an older OLED in my house (2020). Tried a hard reset as well where I had to re-register, download all the apps and authenticate all over again. But Prime Video and the Web Browser app continuously fail to update when it states an update is an available.

I’ve been back and forth with Amazon, and they say its an issue with the LG TV OS and that there isn’t anything they can do and have advised to escalate with LG but I haven’t had any luck in getting a response other than the standard hard reset approach. Very disappointing

Good luck trying to get LG to do anything about apps not updating.

I have an even older OLED TV (2017) and about 3 years in, apps would no longer update.  The solution was to plug an Amazon Fire TV Stick into an HDMI port.  TV still has a great picture, but LG app support is terrible.
