When in an app, hitting home on the remote doesn't do anything. I was looking to see if there's a webOS update available, and now I see trying to open settings locks it all up. The only way to get out of an app right now or get it out of the state where trying settings locks it up is to power off and back on again.
Things I've tried:
1. Restart. I've tried various ways including unplugging and holding the power button on the TV for a while. I left it unplugged all night.
2. Repair of the remote.
I don't know what else to try as I can't even get into settings to see if there's an update to fix this mess. Any thoughts?

CES Best of Innovation Award Winner Redefines
In-Vehicle Experience Powered by Affectionate Intelligence
SEOUL, Dec. 17, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) will unveil an immersive experiential space at CES 2026 that brings the company’s future mobility vision to life through Affectionate Intelligence. The exhibit invites visitors to experience firsthand how AI can reshape the driver, front-passenger and rear seating areas, reimagining the whole cabin as a more intuitive and human-centered space designed to enhance every ride.
This new series of solutions has earned the CES 2026 Best of Innovation Award in In-Vehicle Entertainment, marking the first time the LG Vehicle Solution Company has won the category’s top honor. The system brings together cutting-edge display technology, advanced in-cabin sensing, and on-device AI under a comprehensive AI-Defined Vehicle architecture.
The showcase features three core experiential solutions: the Mobility Display Solution, which transforms the windshield into an intelligent interface; the Automotive Vision Solution, which enhances safety and delivers context-aware information to the driver and front passenger via Vision AI; and the In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution, which provides personalized content recommendations, memory-based media and real-time translation.
In the Mobility Display Solution zone, visitors can experience how AI intuitively presents essential information through a transparent OLED-equipped windshield. For example, when approaching a traffic signal, AI displays the remaining wait time above the signal, selectively providing only the most relevant information at that moment. In autonomous driving mode, the system analyzes the surrounding environment and generates corresponding visual scenes: cherry blossom petals flutter across the display on tree-lined roads, while a monotonous tunnel transforms into an enchanting forest, creating an immersive, near-virtual-reality experience.
The Automotive Vision Solution is an advanced in-cabin sensing solution powered by LG’s Automotive Vision System, designed to enhance safety while enabling context-aware, empathetic interactions and personalized content delivery. The solution tracks driver movement, gaze direction, attention, clothing color and gestures in real time, allowing the system to understand and respond to the occupant’s state. Through eye tracking and gesture control, the system expands the range of interest-based information, while anamorphic display graphics heighten immersion and realism. For instance, in autonomous driving mode, if a front-seat passenger looks at an advertisement displayed on a building, gaze recognition can trigger related information on the passenger display, providing seamless product discovery and purchasing.
The In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution delivers personalized entertainment and interactive communication. By recognizing scenery outside the vehicle, AI can display photos linked to past memories associated with that location on the window display. Passengers can share these moments in real time through video calls with family members. During long journeys, AI recommends content tailored to individual tastes, providing entertainment that turns miles into moments. In another scenario, if a restaurant staff member communicates using sign language, AI interprets the gestures into on-screen text to support smooth, two-way communication.
“We are bringing our future mobility vision to life by embedding AI across our solutions – many of which, including in-cabin sensing, are already in production with global OEMs,” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution Company. “By accelerating these innovations to market, we aim to pioneer the era of AI-driven vehicles in the years ahead.”
LG AI-Powered In-Vehicle Solutions will be on display at the company’s booth during CES 2026 from January 6-9 (#15004, Las Vegas Convention Center).

Television has long been a canvas for visual storytelling, but today it has evolved into something far more immersive. At LG, we’re redefining what a TV can be – transforming the screen into a seamless platform for art, creativity and personal expression.
This transformation is first and foremost enabled by LG TV’s unrivaled picture quality. With LG OLED’s self-lit pixels delivering perfect blacks and infinite contrast, our displays provide the ultimate digital canvas, capable of reproducing the most delicate textures and vibrant colors exactly as the artist intended.
Building on this visual excellence are LG’s True Wireless technology and LG Gallery+, our new visual curation service available on every 2025 LG TV in more than 150 countries. Together, they turn the TV into a wall-mounted masterpiece, blending effortlessly into any space while giving users direct access to world-class art.
Perhaps the most compelling expression of this idea is the LG SIGNATURE OLED T, a 77-inch transparent display that pairs ultra-sharp 4K OLED picture quality with complete wireless freedom through LG’s proprietary True Wireless technology. The product recently earned a Best of Innovation Award from the Consumer Technology Association ahead of CES 2026, and it reflects a growing shift: TVs are becoming part of interior design as well as a medium for creative expression.
A World of Art Where You Are
Built on the award-winning webOS platform, LG Gallery+ offers more than 4,500 curated image and video content ranging from timeless classics to modern artwork, gaming landscapes and personal photo uploads. With adaptive smart features and personalization options, it lets users instantly reshape the atmosphere of a room – whether setting a mood for a celebration or enjoying a quiet Sunday morning.
LG’s collaboration with the National Gallery in London brings iconic works from internationally recognized artists into the home through LG Gallery+. The service continues to grow, offering a unique way for people to explore, curate and enjoy art in everyday life – such as starting the day bathed in the vivid colors of Van Gogh’s A Wheatfield.
True Wireless Clears the Way for TV’s Future
When paired with True Wireless technology, LG Gallery+ becomes even more powerful. By relocating connections to the discreet Zero Connect Box, the wireless technology removes visible cables and frees the TV from traditional placement restrictions. The result is pristine wall-mounted installation that is reminiscent of a home gallery, available in both the ultra-premium LG OLED evo M5 and the more accessible LG QNED9M from the QNED evo lineup.
A wireless TV alone may still appear as a giant black screen when inactive – but with LG Gallery+, it becomes a living canvas that enhances the space even when not in use.
What to Look for in a Digital Canvas
Art deserves technologies that preserve every detail. LG’s 2025 OLED evo models deliver perfect blacks, brilliant colors and exceptional brightness – ideal for displaying rich textures and subtle tonal transitions. AI-powered picture optimization analyzes more than 1.6 billion image settings, tailoring display modes for each viewer and environment.
For creators, features like Dynamic Tone Mapping Professional offer precise control over HDR10 content, enabling professional-level calibration across lighting conditions and supporting more immersive digital art experiences.
QNED evo Makes Colors Pop for More People
For those seeking a wider range of options, LG QNED evo TVs bring many OLED-inspired innovations to a broader audience. Featuring Mini LED technology powered by the Alpha AI processor, QNED evo offers enhanced contrast and accuracy in images to ensure deeper blacks, brighter highlights and well-balanced picture quality. With Dynamic QNED Color solution that offer outstanding depth, clarity and precision, QNED evo delivers striking realism in both bright and dark spaces. Available from 50 to 100 inches, the lineup balances versatility and performance – ideal for gaming, movies, sports and digital art alike.
Choose the Canvas That Fits Your Life
Whether it’s LG SIGNATURE OLED, OLED evo or QNED evo, each model offers a path to experiencing art and content in new ways. True Wireless opens spaces. LG Gallery+ fills them with meaning. Together, they invite users into a more creative, personal and beautifully connected world.

At LG, we are committed to nurturing expertise, collaboration and innovation in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. As part of this commitment, we continue to create opportunities for professionals around the world to learn, share knowledge and grow together. Earlier this month, we welcomed 14 of Brazil’s leading HVAC installers to South Korea for the LG Brazil Installer HVAC Academy.
Designed to strengthen participants’ technical capabilities and reinforce our partnership network, the program combined hands-on learning with site visits and in-depth technical sessions. Participants also had the chance to present their own case studies and explore how LG’s advanced, eco-conscious HVAC solutions are shaping a smarter, more sustainable future.
The Academy began with a visit to a local reference site showcasing LG’s latest residential air conditioning systems. The visit offered participants a close-up look at how our technologies are applied in real-world settings to deliver comfort, energy efficiency and reliability.
The following day, experts from Hi-M Solutek – an LG subsidiary specializing in total HVAC services including maintenance, engineering and building management – led an immersive seminar. The session explored advanced installation methods and shared best-practice cases from across South Korea’s HVAC industry.
Brazilian participants also took the stage to present their own successful installation projects, sharing valuable insights and field expertise that sparked meaningful exchanges with peers and LG engineers alike.
The program concluded with a visit to LG Smart Park in Changwon, our world-class manufacturing site for residential and commercial air conditioners. Attendees toured the state-of-the-art HVAC showroom and participated in a dynamic Q&A session with LG’s product development team – discussing future innovations, trends and the evolving role of smart, sustainable technologies in HVAC.
The LG Brazil Installer HVAC Academy is part of our broader effort to foster collaboration and continuous learning across the global HVAC community. Alongside this initiative, we’ve hosted a series of HVAC Leaders’ Summit events for consultants from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Most recently, in July 2025, we brought together 30 leading consultants from Central and South America in Panama for a regional summit focused on innovation and partnership.
Under our Global South growth strategy, we will continue to expand our programs aimed at strengthening long-term partnerships with HVAC consultants and installers – empowering them to deliver smarter, more efficient solutions to customers while enhancing the reputation and reach of LG HVAC.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the landmark legislation that transformed public spaces, workplaces and digital platforms in the United States by protecting the rights of people with disabilities. This milestone is ushering in a new generation of B2B technology that is reshaping the way accessibility is delivered in daily life—most visibly through the self-service kiosks people encounter in restaurants, hotels, transit hubs, healthcare facilities and retail stores.
LG Electronics is helping to lead this change with the debut of its new Gen 2 Self-Ordering Kiosks, purpose-built for users with vision, mobility and hearing disabilities. Developed in collaboration with accessibility consultants at Tech for All and informed by continuous feedback from people with disabilities, the kiosks are designed to bring equity, independence and dignity to every interaction.
Accessibility by Design, Not Retrofit
Unlike traditional kiosks that often required late-stage adaptations, LG’s Gen 2 kiosks were intentionally designed with inclusion at their core. Available in multiple configurations—including a motorized height-adjustable pedestal—they feature tactile input options, voice guidance and screen-reader compatibility. These features make the kiosks accessible to wheelchair users, people who are blind or low vision and those with hearing challenges.
As Michael O’Hare, Systems Accessibility Director at Tech for All, explains:
“Getting accessibility early is key. It’s very difficult to go back and fix things. By working from concept through prototyping, LG avoided those costly late changes—and built something that truly works for everyone.”
Collaboration Driving Industry Momentum
LG’s approach goes beyond hardware. The company is co-chair of the Kiosk Manufacturer Association Accessibility Committee, where it works alongside industry partners to advance shared accessibility standards. LG kiosks support a range of assistive technologies, including Vispero’s JAWS® for Kiosk screen reader, Storm Interface’s AudioNav tactile keypads and SoundHound AI’s voice interface. Future add-ons, like webcam accessories, promise even greater functionality.
This collaborative spirit aligns directly with LG’s ESG vision of a Better Life for All, which emphasizes inclusion across both consumer and commercial innovations. Beyond kiosks, LG’s accessibility strategy spans audio-narrated appliance manuals, voice assistant integrations and thoughtful product design across its portfolio.
ADA at 35: From Compliance to Empowerment
The ADA laid the foundation for accessibility in the United States. Today, technology leaders like LG are building on that foundation, ensuring that accessibility is seamlessly woven into the everyday experiences of millions of people worldwide.
For LG, accessibility is more than regulatory compliance — it is a catalyst for innovation. As Peter Kim, B2B Strategic Alliance Team Leader at LG Electronics USA, puts it:
“Technology should empower everyone. By embedding accessibility into the DNA of these kiosks, we’re delivering solutions that are genuinely inclusive and empowering.”
