Since my lg-oled65c9pla auto-updated to WebOS 5.5, there is a new bug.
The TV is connected to my Cambridge Audio Evo 75 amplifier over ARC - on powering the TV, it has always started up the amp, and switched it to use audio, instead of the appalling TV speakers. The whole setup has worked flawlessly for 5 years, but since WebOS 5.5, the amplifier starts, but is left in a muted state, and using the un-mute or volume controls on the TV remote makes no difference to turning on audio. The only way to get audio to play though my amp a speakers is to turn the amp's volume dial or press a volume button on the a amp's remote - this then unmutes the TV and audio is back.
There is no setting I can find in the TV that relates to whether the ARC channel starts muted or not...
No software has changed in my amp. This is an annoying new bug in the TV software, I assume down to some CEC changes.

On my LG 'smart' TV now for some reason I can now only watch the LG channels but not the fiber-optic programming on wi-fi . The HDMI 1 feed I normally use shows 'dark' on the Dashboard even though I can get the green checkmark on it. How do I reconnect it? The Dashboard shows my feed as ethernet/cable; which is wrong but efforts to correct it have failed so far.

Company Recognized Across Range of Categories for Its Smart Life Solutions,
Earns Two Best of Innovation Awards
SEOUL, Nov. 6, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) has been honored with numerous CES® 2026 Innovation Awards, including two Best of Innovation distinctions, reaffirming its leadership in next-generation smart life solutions and display technology excellence.
Presented annually by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) ahead of CES – the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT trade show – the Innovation Awards recognize groundbreaking products and services that drive the future of technology and design.
LG’s latest honors span multiple product categories, with its OLED TVs and monitors alone earning five Innovation Awards across Imaging, Gaming & eSports and Computer Hardware & Components. Leading the lineup is the LG SIGNATURE OLED T, which received the Best of Innovation Award in the Imaging category. The recognition underscores LG’s dominance in OLED technology and its commitment to delivering new value and user experiences.
The 2026 honors mark the fourth consecutive year an LG OLED TV has claimed a Best of Innovation Award. The milestone follows a remarkable run of previous winners: the LG OLED evo featuring a new Brightness Enhancement technology (2025); LG’s first wireless OLED TV (2024); and the bendable gaming OLED TV, LG OLED Flex (2023). For 2026, the world’s first true wireless and transparent TV – the LG SIGNATURE OLED T – continues this legacy of innovation at the pinnacle of the TV industry.
The LG SIGNATURE OLED T redefines the viewing experience with a stunning 77-inch transparent OLED display, ultra-sharp 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution and LG’s wireless AV transmission technology. Combining groundbreaking form with unrivaled performance, it sets a new benchmark for immersive design. Last month, the OLED T drew global attention at the APEC CEO Summit Korea 2025 in Gyeongju, where LG created a kinetic media chandelier using 28 units of the transparent TV – a striking showcase of LG’s vision for future display innovation.
LG’s webOS smart TV platform, a key pillar of the company’s platform-based service business, earned dual recognition this year with Innovation Awards in both Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity categories. webOS has now been honored in the Cybersecurity category for two consecutive years, reinforcing its reputation as a secure and intelligent entertainment platform.
In the Home Appliances category, LG’s new built-in robot vacuum station received an Innovation Award for its ingenious built-in design and advanced functionality. Hidden from sight when not in use, the station can be installed in underutilized spaces such as under kitchen sinks or behind doors. It features the world’s first steam-cleaning system applied to both the robot vacuum and the station, elevating cleaning performance and hygiene management to new heights.
Other LG products recognized by the CES 2026 Innovation Awards include a premium LCD TV with Micro RGB technology; the LG StanbyME 2, a next-generation portable lifestyle screen; and the LG UltraFine evo 6K professional monitor, the world’s first display to support both 6K (6,144 × 3,456) resolution and the latest Thunderbolt 5 interface.
The full list and details of LG’s CES 2026 Innovation Award-winning products will be revealed at CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 6, 2026.

Company Shares Future Vision to Become a National Corporation of India
MUMBAI, Oct. 14, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) today announced the listing of its subsidiary, LG Electronics India Limited (LGEIL), on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE). The milestone marks an important step in the LGEIL’s ambition to become a national corporation of India while reinforcing its role as a long-term partner in the country’s economic growth.
On October 14, LG held a listing and future vision announcement ceremony at NSE in Mumbai, attended by LG Electronics CEO William Cho, CFO Chang-tae Kim, managing director of LGEIL Hong-ju Jeon, board chairman Dae-hyun Song, as well as NSE CEO Ashish Chauhan, investors and analysts. At the market’s opening bell, LG CEO Cho and NSE CEO Chauhan jointly rang the ceremonial gong to celebrate the start of trading for LGEIL.
In the IPO, LG offered 15 percent of LGEIL’s issued shares (101,815,859 shares) through an offer for sale. The IPO price was set at the top of the indicative range at INR 1,140 per share, with subscriptions reaching 54 times the total offering. The listing generated approximately USD 1.31 billion1 (INR 116.05 billion).
With the listing, LGEIL becomes more deeply rooted in India. LG anticipates that this development will support its growth in a market where rising incomes and expanding middle-class households are creating strong momentum in appliance adoption. According to Boston Consulting Group, the proportion of Indian households in the middle-income bracket (annual income USD 6,000–36,000) is forecast to rise from 29 percent in 2020 to 46 percent by 2030.
“India is now at the center of our Global South strategy,” said William Cho, CEO of LG Electronics. “We look forward to advancing the growth of both LG and LGEIL.”
Future Vision: Make for India, Make in India, Make India Global
Alongside its market debut, LG presented a long-term vision to build on its leadership in India and strengthen its position. With India’s population and its status as one of the world’s largest potential markets, LG plans to expand strategies tailored to local customers and market needs. Through this, LG aims to maintain its current position as number one player in major home appliances and consumer electronics2 in India as per the market share in the offline channel.
The first vision, “Make for India”, emphasizes creating products tailored to Indian lifestyles and needs. Building on decades of local insight, the range combines affordability, India-specific features and design elements reflecting cultural preferences. Building on this experience, LG will continue expanding its India-focused portfolio.
The company’s second vision “Make in India” highlights LG’s alignment with India’s manufacturing-driven growth strategy. LG has established a self-sufficient local value chain spanning R&D, production, sales and service. In addition to its existing plants in Noida and Pune, the company is investing INR 50.01 billion in a new factory in Sri City, expected to create 1,900 direct and indirect jobs.
Lastly, “Make India Global” builds on this foundation to position India as a key driving force within LG’s Global South strategy, which focuses on unlocking growth opportunities across emerging markets amid rapidly evolving geo-economic dynamics. Through this initiative, LG aims to help advance India’s transition from a fast-growing market to a recognized hub of innovation, manufacturing and talent.
By empowering local industries, strengthening value chains and fostering technological capabilities, LG seeks to enable India to showcase its excellence on the world stage – from advanced manufacturing and R&D to technology exports and sustainable development. Ultimately, the company aspires to grow alongside India, supporting its rise as a global economic leader while reinforcing its own standing as a trusted national company that represents India’s potential to the world.
Building a Better Future Together
Beyond products, LGEIL continues to strengthen its connection with customers by enhancing after-sales services and expanding its Annual Maintenance Contract subscription programs – ensuring lasting relationships that extend well beyond the point of purchase. The company is also accelerating growth in future-ready B2B domains, providing advanced technologies for commercial spaces, HVAC systems and information displays.
Guided by a shared vision for growth, LG stands ready to create lasting value in India – strengthening its role as a partner in the country’s progress and a contributor to its global success.

Across This Year’s Red Dot, iF and IDEA Awards
SEOUL, Sep. 19, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) has again earned global recognition for its design innovations, this year receiving a total of 100 awards from the world’s three most prestigious design competitions: the Red Dot Design Award, the iF Design Award and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).
LG recently added to its already considerable success at the 2025 Red Dot Design Award by taking home 12 honors in the Brands & Communication Design category. The company was recognized for the exceptional user experience (UX) design of its LG ThinQ smart home platform and webOS smart TV platform, and for the design of the FURON symbol, which conveys the warmth and care delivered by LG’s “empathetic intelligence” agent.
The Red Dot Design Award annually acknowledges outstanding achievements across three distinct categories: Product Design, Design Concept and Brands & Communication Design. The Brands & Communication category highlights new innovations that provide outstanding user convenience and excellent efficiency.
Earlier this year, LG was recognized in the Red Dot Award’s Product Design and Design Concept categories, receiving the prestigious Best of the Best accolade. In the Product Design category, the company received 35 awards for a wide range of products, including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, TVs, air conditioners, air purifiers, audio solutions, monitors and commercial robots. In the Design Concept category, My Taste Company, an in-house venture of LG, earned the Best of the Best accolade for DUOBO, a capsule coffee machine featuring innovative technologies for convenient and personalized coffee brewing.
At the IDEA Awards, organized by the esteemed Industrial Designers Society of America, LG added 16 more awards to its impressive tally for 2025.
One of the unique LG innovations honored at IDEA, the LG SIGNATURE OLED T is the world’s first transparent and true wireless OLED TV. Enabling users to effortlessly switch between transparent and opaque screen modes via remote control, the remarkable OLED T has now been lauded by the Red Dot, iF and IDEA design award programs.
LG’s IDEA–winning products also include the LG SIGNATURE refrigerator with Smart InstaView, LG ARTCOOL air conditioner, LG StanbyME 2 and the FURON symbol design.
Additionally, LG received a total of 36 awards at the iF Design Award 2025 (announced in April), including a coveted Gold Award. The company was recognized in categories such as Product Design, Communication, UX, UI and Packaging.
In Product Design, notable winners included LG ThinQ ON, the company’s AI home hub, and LG QNED TV, which delivers immersive viewing experiences and a slim, premium design. Among the company’s other honorees were the LG ThinQ Character, which can communicate with customers in a friendly, human-like manner through the ThinQ app; and LG Iconography (UI), a unified visual system that intuitively conveys each product’s features and services – both of which were recognized in the Communication, UX, UI and Packaging categories.
Under the vision of a Better Life for All, LG is redefining design by making products and services more accessible, intuitive and inclusive. Through deep lifestyle research, the company identifies real customer needs – based on behaviors, values and preferences – and applies integrated design and technology solutions that deliver meaningful, differentiated experiences across every touchpoint.
“Through our commitment to lifestyle-driven design and innovation, we will continue to deliver solutions that enhance user convenience and resonate with customers at an emotional level,” said Chung Wook-jun, head of the Corporate Design Center at LG Electronics.
