  1. If you are plugging a USB directly into to TV. the internal Media Player ignores all colour information
However on my Nano90 TV subtitles are displayed correctly and readably

Otherwise you may need to buy an external Android box to play the videos then
the full formatting options will be available

  2. Here is a work around

Do you have access to a PC?

Install Subtitle Edit, a free utitity

Then open the file with Subtitle Edit
This will allow you to select the subs you want and save as a separate .srt file

Then you should be OK on the TV
Just make sure that External Subs is enables

PS Subtitle Edit has many features for replacing text in the subs file
so that it appears cleanly on your TV

  3. Using the standard Movie Player

Select the title on the screen giving details 1920 x 1080 etc
Then use the scroll button to roll down and show a new line below
If your movie has a correctly named subtitle file, you will see a SUB button
Click on it and a new window will open in the top right
Firstly a button to turn subs on and off
Selections about the language and the synchronisaton

    Hope that helps

  4. A search in the Apps offers me Bright VPN

I installed BUT the app asks me to go to the Network parameters to select Advanced
and change the DNS setting address
Problem there is no advanced setting on my TV network or access to DNS service address

    What to do?

What is the point of offering an App that is not compatible with LGOS

  5. The LG Media Player is quite basic in its handling of subtitles
often displaying control data text such as <font color="#ffff00ff"> instead of acting on it

I deal with this by running the file through Subtitle Edit on my PC before
plugging  the hdd into the TV.  It can handle embedded and external subtitles

At the same time I can correct some typical spelling mistake like ancl instead of and
The AI programmes that generate the subtitle leave quite a bit to be desired

Hello, at startup, HDMI 1 or terrestrial TELEVISION constantly appears, which I do not have at all. how to fix it so that when you start smart tv, it immediately opens to the main menu where you select applications

My set (NANO90) goes to the first HDMI socket in use, my satellite receiver
Like you I do not use terrestrial TV

  7. That is one of the main problems with OLED technology, it is called BURN IN
I first came across it with a old phone with OLED screen

When I purchased my current LG TV I was very careful to avoid OLED options and chose the NANO technology
18 months in I am still very happy with the screen

No help to you I know, but a warning to future purchasers, of any brand of TV

You could try suing LG on the grounds that the TV is not fit for purpose

It is easy to add a new item to the quick settings side menu on an lg c2, as long as the item you want is shown on the list presented when you choose  the + add item.  If you want to add a "shortcut" to an item that is not on the list then how can that be done.  Is it possible to edit the list presented?

Specifically I want to add a shortcut to "subtitles on" which is buried deep in accessibility settings,  there nothing on the list of options presented to allow this.

As a partially deaf person who relies on subtitles, this would be a useful addition

    Hi everyone,

I'm interested in the OLED BX. I would like to know if it is compatible with a 5TB HDD (to be connected and fed through one of the TV USB port).

LG manuals recommend to connect up to 2TB storage HDDs but don't really state that higher capacity devices are not expected to work.

Then, I'm not sure how are things with DTS support. It seems that DTS decoding is no longer supported on the 2020 tv sets. But LG web page (updated 08/22/2020) titled "Support Video Playback File Type & Codec" still claims that "TV supports DTS audio codec when USB/HDMI video file playback offers it".

Can any of you shed some light on these ones?

    Thank you so much.

I am also looking for DTS support on my Nano90 TV (2022 model) when playing files from a HD
It does not appear to be supported, which is a shame
