I have many files on my external disk but I do not experience any substantial delay
It may be that you are using the disk for the first time?
After that you will find a file added to you external device that will be used on subsequent connections
and the load time will be negligible -
I use the standard Media Player on my LG Nanocell TV
It plays all the modern media type, MKV and MP4 perfectly smoothly
If a file will not play I run it through Format Factory on my PC to convert to MKV with 265 compression
No visible loss of quality but file size reductions are beneficial as I have a large archiveAs for the frame drops and lagging, I suggest you look at the cable you are using to connect the USB
and try a different USB. The cheap ones are not always good quality
I run my videos from a USB hdd -
Are you sure the channel you are watching provides subtitles?
IPTV cannot just magic them up for youI have IPTV smarters installed on my LG TV
I do get subtitles on series, but only arabic
Maybe a function of my locationNothing on live channels
-
Thanks

Where did you get that idea?
A link would be useful -
I may be old fashioned but I turn off my TV at the power socket at night
-
I don't see subtitles on any series with IPTV smarters
With the films there are subtitles in Arabic on my subscription -
Occasionally they have issues and loose account details
Give them a call
They are available on WhatApp +91 70660 78966
I have found them to be helpful and responsive -
1 Hot Player is not available on LG
2. It is not supported by IPTV Smarters
Please keep with the Thread

Why not use the builtin Media Player on the LG TV?
It is very good and reliable
-
If you are plugging a USB directly into to TV. the internal Media Player ignores all colour information
However on my Nano90 TV subtitles are displayed correctly and readably
Otherwise you may need to buy an external Android box to play the videos then
the full formatting options will be available -
Have you checked your aerial and cable?
-
Glad you found the solution
For others, note that I had a similar problem very recently with an older TV, 2 years old
Drop out of connection to hard disk
I tracked it down to a faulty cable connecting the drive to the TV
A new cable for $3 and all is fine again
-
I have a different model of TV but no problem with external disks,
even with multiple folder levels.
Have you checked for an update of the Player app? -
You will probably need an external android box to load the app
Then feed the signal to your LG TV via HDMI -
1. LG uses LGOS. Not Android, so why should that site help?
2. It is blatant advertising and needs a credit card to get any information

Here is a work around
Do you have access to a PC?
Install Subtitle Edit, a free utitity
Then open the file with Subtitle Edit
This will allow you to select the subs you want and save as a separate .srt fileThen you should be OK on the TV
Just make sure that External Subs is enablesPS Subtitle Edit has many features for replacing text in the subs file
so that it appears cleanly on your TV -
Using the standard Movie Player
Select the title on the screen giving details 1920 x 1080 etc
Then use the scroll button to roll down and show a new line below
If your movie has a correctly named subtitle file, you will see a SUB button
Click on it and a new window will open in the top right
Firstly a button to turn subs on and off
Selections about the language and the synchronisaton
Hope that helps

A search in the Apps offers me Bright VPN
I installed BUT the app asks me to go to the Network parameters to select Advanced
and change the DNS setting address
Problem there is no advanced setting on my TV network or access to DNS service addressWhat to do?
What is the point of offering an App that is not compatible with LGOS
-
You can try contacting IPTVSmarters on their WhatApp number
+91 70660 78966

https://maxplayer.tv/ is just a player
Which IPTV service do you use that gives you the subtitles -
Remember it depends on whether the original source gives subtitles, and in what language
-
The LG Media Player is quite basic in its handling of subtitles
often displaying control data text such as <font color="#ffff00ff"> instead of acting on itI deal with this by running the file through Subtitle Edit on my PC before
plugging the hdd into the TV. It can handle embedded and external subtitlesAt the same time I can correct some typical spelling mistake like ancl instead of and
The AI programmes that generate the subtitle leave quite a bit to be desired
