  1. Also a good question. My "LG support is crap" doesn't come out of nowhere. I have contacted them and reported the problems and since I still am in warranty, of which I'm pretty sure of isn't only for hardware, I expect fixing. But to no avail. You get a preconfigured standard response mail and that's all.
  2. LG support is crap. No response at all or pre-made response textes only after weeks. Support is important, because we actually pay for it by buying the products. Since the TV is depending on software you provide and if this software has bugs, they must be removed, because this is part of warranty. I posted a bug thread over at the developer forum, but no one reacted. Actually, I expected something like that an LG official reads it, puts it on a bug tracking list and comments "we are on it". That's how other companies do it. So, where can we find a place to post our bugs so that they find their way to the developers?
  3. 8. Wrong message about audio: when the media player is starting to play a file with two audio tracks of which one is DTS, it will still pop up the message "Die Datei unterstützt kein Audio" which translates "This file supports no audio" which, by the way, is weird English. About 4 months after reporting the timer bug here and to LG it still hasn't vanished. Are they actually working on webOS or not?
  4. There are so many casting protocols and companies keep adding new ones, like Google did with their Chromecast protocol. Why would LG, when not having an Android based OS, implement support for such? Let alone the licensing issue. Google could rather go and implement DLNA or whatever, but it's the same thing the other way round. Licenses...
  5. Though this is nothing but a rant, I second the fact that WebOS is a bad concept. It can't do some essential things which, for comparison, Samsungs Tizen can do. I have my G1 since a few weeks now and struggle with simple things that simply shouldn't exist, like 1. Sleep timer is deactived in my TV, but it will continue to nag you after 4h of not using the remote. 2. No support for DTS passthrough or Dolby Vision (E-AC3). It plays E-AC3, but comes up with a warning and the video will stop at some point. 3. The media player shows the file names from the movie name inside of a MKV instead of showing the real name. WTF?! Doesn't LG strife for being at least as good as Samsung in both, hardware and software? A smart TV is supposed to be smart, not just a TV.
  6. 1. Either go back to a home bar or at least let the users decide what type they see, home bar (like in one in previous series) or home screen, so they can switch 2. Make home bar/screen user definable in regards of position of app listand sources list, so we don‘t have to scroll down every time we want to start an app. 3. Put an option to remove the annoying frames in the top part of the home screen. 4. Use the same size for app and source icons. Why are the app icons so small? 5. Make source icons renamable. My PS5 is connected to HDMI 4 and I cannot name the port „PS5“. This is one of the most essential things. The TV can also not recognize the PS5 as gaming console and I would have to do that manually, but since this part of external device control I wouldn‘t do that, because I don‘t want to control the PS5 via my TV, I just want to rename the icon. 6. Put an option „Always go directly into full settings menu“. The side list of icons that appears when pressing thr settings button is annoying. The symbols are partially totally unclear and I would have to go down to the one that opens all settings. Too many button presses. 7. With an app or TV or whatever running and when accessing the home screen, don‘t stop the stream and mute the audio, just put the picture as small PiP overlay on top of the home screen, including audio and continue playing until any app or source is switched. 8. Put an option to turn off auto-update for apps or at least let the user decide! Always let the user decide. This UI is made for the users.
  7. Hello! I‘m a guy from Germany who bought his first time ever LG TV, the OLED55G19LA. Coming from a Samsung UE49KS7090 I actually expected the LG to be as good as the Samsung in regards of user interface and handling, but it‘s way worse. Well, gotta live with that. But since using it for about two weeks now, I noticed a few things. Since in my job I‘m a software tester (not for TVs, but software for users is software for users), I think I kinda have an eye for things and how they are supposed to be or not. Since there is only a wishlist forum and no „report your bugs here“ forum, I‘ll post my bugs directly here in hope some developer will record them on the bug tracking list. 1. Bug: Timers. When gaming on my PS5, the TV suddenly came up with ‚will switching off in 5 minutes‘. So I deactivated that timer which was on by default (why??), just to see the same message appearing again after another 4 hours (yes, on weekends gaming sessions can be long). I think this is a typical software developer flaw. The running timer isn‘t canceled when switching that option off. 2. Bug: Youtube app. When playing videos from a playlist with auto-play activated and commercials come in the middle of a video, after using the „Skip ad“ button it would randomly jump to another video, which isn‘t on the playlist. This only happens when I connect from within thr Youtube app on my iPad to my TV, select videos on the iPad which would put them onto the playlist of the TV. The TV would start playing, a commercial come and zing!, you‘re out of your currently watched video. 3. Unwanted behavior: when starting the TV, it would also wake my NAS. This isn‘t necessary. It should only wake it when I open the media player app. 4. Missing option „Start where you left off last time“: when shutting down the TV while Youtube or Netflix are running, I‘d expect it to come up again the same way. But this only happens randomly or not at all. 5. Bug: HDMI CEC. My A/V receiver is on the HDMI(ARC) port. The LG deteced it as Denon Sound Bar (how??). Switching it on together with the TV only sometimes works. Switching it off doesn‘t work at all. What works nicely is loudness control. 6. Bug: Audio interrupts. When playing a video in the media player, streaming Netflix or gaming on PS5, which is directly connected to the TV, the audio stream via ARC would randomly be interrupted for about one second while the video continues neatlessly. I never had such with the Samsung TV. Totally new and extremely annoying bug. 7. Controversial topic: DTS audio. I learned that LG doesn‘t decode DTS in files played from the media player. But passing it through is not decoding and I don‘t think that LG would need a DTS licence to just pass it through. Of course the question would be „Why not even passing it through?“. The Samsung I used before could do that. Well, this one’s five years old and I know that current models also don‘t support DTS anymore, but perhaps they pass it through.
  8. Nobody has replied since 2018? Is there no way to report bugs to LG? There is even a developer forum for WebOS and LG developers, but there is nothing like „report your bugs here“. This is insane! A complex software like this must have thousands of bugs and the developer need to know which ones bother the users most, so they can prioritize. Weird.
