  1. Yes, they do that. Whenever a mainstream app is released its always there on my tv automatically, never had to install one.
  2. The app is available for mobiles only. Xstream app won’t be coming for any smart tv. Its better you get an Xstream box. Its only Rs.2249 and you can have the android tv experience as well. Even then you won’t be able to watch live tv channels via internet, as even the airtel xstream box with xstream app doesn’t have that feature.
  3. This software version AFAIK. WebOs version should 4.xx or 3.xx. Look more.
  4. Look for the WebOS version you have under TV Information.
  5. Delete the app. Restart the tv. wait for atleast 3 mins. Reinstall and login again. if still doesn’t work mail to [email protected] , make sure to attach the screenshot.
  6. It won’t be available ever. It was made clear by LG. Only 2019 models get airplay support. Yours is a 2018. Get an apple tv if you want the tv+ streaming and airplay.
  7. A lot of people are facing different sort of problems with Disney Plus. Same tv models different problems. Same Is happening for other devices as well. Give it altleast 15 days to stabilise.
  8. Yes. Which version of WebOS do you have? Or which tv? Look for it in the content store!
  9. Voot was released last month for supported televisions . No clue on Sony LIV. Sony is not providing any concrete answers even if the app is under development.
  10. Airtel TV app is not coming to WebOS. Neither it is/ would be available on any other smart tv’s. Same goes for Jio TV. Even Airtel’s new smart set top box Airtel Xstream doesn’t have it.
  11. Why don’t you to tweet @disneyplus and ask them about the app, do they have plans or maybe its already under development?
  12. You will have to configure vpn at router level or if you have an android phone you can use vpn on that>use screen mirroring feature> open youtube on mobile and you will be able to view it on the tv.
  13. Jio tv is not coming anytime. If you want apps like these get an android box or fire tv stick. ( Firestick is less than Rs.3000 on amazon right now. ) WebOS is a leading tv operating system. Way ahead of android except for the vast availability of android apps. And no, OS cannot be changed to android.
  14. JioTV won’t be coming to any tv streaming platform as it would be bundled with JioGigafibre’s Giga TV, (just as airtel tv comes with airtel’s smart stb); they would never release a tv version , not in the near future;no smart tv has it, nor any android tv. It has to be sideloaded even on firestick as well and doesn’t function properly. Jio Cinema is different and is available on other platforms but no clue if its under development for WebOS. As far as Sony LIV is concerned, it is under development as per Sony but no expected date has been given. It maybe released next month or the end of the year, no one knows. The best way to get these and many other apps is to get a firestick. Even if these apps are released for LG they might not support many older tv’s, just like with hotstar.
  15. I don’t think it would be coming as early as next week. As per Sony LIV’s latest tweet(7hrs ago) they are working on it. If it was in the final stages they would have mentioned that its in final stages as hotstar used to; or maybe to expect it soon. Where did you heard the rumours?
  16. Go to the LG content store and search. Then install it again. Instead of logging in directly to the tv login to the zee5 app on you phone and go to its settings > authenticate. You will see a code on the tv- enter that and click in authenticate/activate device then click on continue on the tv screen. Should work.
  17. Yeah, most receivers are receiving the eARC update, but as far as tv’s are concerned LG is leading the HDMI 2.1/eARC bandwagon. Other brands are still not offering full bandwidth HDMI 2.1 . Logically speaking HDMI 2.0 18gbps ARC should be upgraded to eARC via firmware update as 18gbps is more than enough to carry lossless atmos. But I guess there is more to it than meets the eye. ARC still carries lossy atmos from Netflix.
  18. No, not possible via any means. eARC is supported on models manufactured 2019 onwards.
  19. Not yet. According to the WebOS version it should have been available by now but I guess its a combination of model nos & WebOS version. A lot of older models inspite of having the required WebOS version haven’t received it. Contact hotstar at hello@hotstar.com or [email protected] . You can also tweet @hotsartweets
  20. I don’t think LG would be answering that. According to the WebOS version it should have been available by now but I guess its a combination of model nos & WebOS version. 21. 100mbps is sufficient for most 4k files. Makes sure you have direct play enabled on the plex client. I stream 80gb HEVC HDR movies over wifi ac and they play seamlessly. Direct play is the key. I have two 4K tv’s and none of them are hardwired. 1080p should be a cakewalk. have you performed speedtest on the tv? If it is also close to 100mbps then you don’t need to worry. also check status on the plex server when movie is playing. Is it showing transcoding?
  22. Probably your sound output is not set right. Go to settings and change audio output to auto. It might be set to PCM or something else. if still doesn’t work after changing to auto, restart the tv and soundbar fro mains. still not, then press the “AD” button on the magic remote while HDMI 2/3 whichever is ARC is selected as source. You’ll get a menu with power button. Click that and the soundbar will power off. Then after 2 mins do the same to power on again. These should work definitely.
  23. You need to remove the optical cable and connect an HDMI cable from the tv’s HDMI ( ARC) port to the soundbar’s ARC port. After doing that turn on LG Simplink in the settings. Then you will be able to control the soundbar from the magic remote. You can also add the device using device connector -> add device. Simplink is basically HDMI CEC that allows control of connected HDMI devices. Optical cable is just an audio output cable and cannot be used to control the other device. Get a decent HDMI cable.
  24. The app should be available for your WebOS version. You should search for the app in the LG Content Store. If you find it click on it and click on install. If you don’t find it, then write to [email protected] and ask them.
  25. I agree, but we don’t live in a perfect world. WebOS is one of the fastest and best OS across the big 3. I am not defending LG(it would sure seem like it) but if you are desperate for some apps, you might as well buy a firestick that costs a fraction, and you will get more apps than you can even think of. Infact I used a firestick before I got the hotstar app for WebOS. hotstar is basically owned by fox and also has content from HBO and Showtime plus the Star network. Just a practical solution for the situation at hand.
