  1. As a former Apple Developer I have very clear ideas on what is needed to have a clean and efficient Home Media Theater. The WebOs porting on LG TV's is brilliant, yet it has to develop it's full potential. As a worklist, maybe while waiting to become a devoleper myself, I write down first the basic needs for the final user who has a collection of movies/tv shows/personal videos sotred on a home network, either on NAS or on shares on various computers. - Organization of Media: the initial intuition of the DLNA protocol is still valid: Video, Photo and Audio are three distinct starting point. Either via DLNA or SMB or other protocols users should be allowed to browse they're media collection elegantly, either readings text list, or with thumbnails. Folder structure should be easy to access. - For Video: Audio selection; one very basic and yet difficult to manage thing is the ability to choose and change on the fly the audio track in a movie - For Video: Subtitle selection: as above The actual SmartShare fails in every single step of this basic list: it does not allow you to choose display mode (list, thumbnails, maetadata, etc), it does not allow you to change audio (it works on USB, not on shares) and it does not allow you to show subtitles, not even the embedded ones. I know there are fierce limitations in the DLNA protocol but....... The final user experience in the Era of XBMC Gotham cannot be such as proposed today on LG top tv's....... Do you need a hand in developing smart share? Any plan to upgrade it? Any plan to develop a non-DLNA client, maybe a SMB client or a PLEX client? Why not get in touch with XBMC community? It could save years.......

  2. So i bought this 4k lg tv a few month ago for £1500 and since then it has been a pain changing HDMI takes for ever when chaning the volume up and down it takes for ever and ends up going to 100 volume or 0 I have had LG out 3 times for fix the issue they are now saying they can not fix the issue and will no longer be repairing it or even offering a replacment the only thing i can do is wait for an update. Has anyone else had this issue? I am very shocked with how LG have dealt with this and really wish i had never gone down the lg route and just bought a sony.
