    • Hello, We just bought this LG tv1   LG 43UR73006LA (2023). The screen mirror from my MacBook gives our LG tv as an option but when I click it, it says there is no connection possible with '[LG] webOS TV UR73006LA' Also when I want to add the tv to my Apple  HomeKit, it is not possible. The TV is on the same WiFi network and I checked if there are any updates available.  What can I do?
    • I'm wrestling with a similar issue now, on my LG UM73 55 4K Smart UHD TV. I enable "Media Streaming" on my PC, and stream the content using the built-in Photos & Videos app to the TV. Works fine for video content. I find that .mkv streams with integrated captions work fine. But I am unable to get the subtitle option enabled for .mp4 video. I have made sure that the subtitle file is in the same folder as the video file, has the same name as the video (of course with .srt file extension) and that there are no dots or spaces in the video or subtitle file names. The subtitle file is ANSI encoding. Still does not work. Any hints on how subtitles can be made to work for .mp4 files?
    • Since the last webos update to 3.40.87, I find I have to completely power cycle the TV (a G1 65" OLED) every week or so to get the DLNA client back to functioning properly. I have a media server running Serviio on a Raspberry Pi, and I periodically get one of the following two problems, both of which are fixed by completely power-cycling the TV. When I'm using the DLNA client to select videos from the server, I get no response from trying to select a video or series using the remote. The remote continues to work fine when used with other apps (eg Netflix, Stan etc) on the TV. When the DLNA client is playing a video from the server, the audio is delayed by a couple of seconds from the video. At the time that the TV is showing either of these problems, I can access the media server using either BubbleUPnP on my phone or VLC on my PC, and neither of them have any problem either selecting videos or playing them back with the audio synced with the video, so the problem is clearly with the TV, and power-cycling the TV gets rid of whichever problem is manifesting itself.
    • Why not use the builtin Media Player on the LG TV? It is very good and reliable

    • Company Presents Its Exploration and Analysis of Key Technologies for Robotics and the Metaverse at ICLR 2024 in Austria  SEOUL, May 23, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) recently made an impactful presence at the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) 2024 in Vienna, Austria, held from May 7 to 11. Out of the multitude of submissions, LG’s research paper secured a place among the top one percent to be presented at the conference, spotlighting the caliber of LG’s research efforts and cementing its position as a frontrunner in advancing crucial AI technologies across various domains such as robotics, the metaverse and smart homes.   A prestigious, international academic conference focused on deep-learning technology, ICLR consistently features in Google Scholar’s list of top publications in the Engineering & Computer Science subcategory. With an acceptance rate of 25 percent, ICLR maintains its reputation as a discerning platform for cutting-edge research.  LG’s research paper ‘DiffMatch: Diffusion Model for Dense Matching’ was recognized as being among the top one percent of submissions for ICLR 2024 and was selected for an oral presentation at the conference. The paper introduces an AI technology adept at comparing images to pinpoint similarities and variations, facilitating precise identification of object locations and shapes. This innovation holds promise for enhancing spatial recognition speed and accuracy in advanced robotics applications, allowing robots to navigate environments with changing object positions and lighting conditions efficiently.  In addition, LG’s paper titled ‘H2O-SDF Two-Phase Learning for 3D Indoor Reconstruction using Object Surface Fields,’ which focuses on a core technology for the metaverse, was recognized among the top five percentile of submissions and was chosen for a Spotlight presentation. The paper illustrates the utilization of AI to reproduce complex indoor spaces and details of object surfaces in a 3D virtual space. Using 2D images as source material, the AI can identify and render an interior structure – including walls, ceilings and pillars – in 3D. Following this, the technology leverages learned information to add fine details to furniture pieces, home appliances and other household objects, bringing a high degree of realism to virtual spaces. Suitable for diverse applications relating to the metaverse, LG’s innovative tech can also potentially be used to augment existing ‘digital twin’ software, which has become an essential tool for smart factories.  “By applying our own cutting-edge AI technologies to LG products and services, we will continue to make customers’ lives more convenient and enjoyable – whether it’s at home, at work or in the virtual realm,” said Kim Byoung-hoon, chief technology officer at LG Electronics.  # # #  link hidden, please login to view

    • I have 2 LG Tv's, 50UP7670PUC and 55UP7670PUC. They are about 2 years old. Initially everything was find. I turned the TV on, and they went directly to the ROKU menu. Now. when I turn the TV on,  they go to the WebOS menu. I turn them off, and right back on, and they then go to the ROKU menu. This has been an issue since early this year. Was there an update that re-routes the home screen?   Regardless I don't want the WebOS menu, just the Roku menu. please help.
