iMore iPad 3

So everybody's got their panties all in a bunch over some new iPad or something that's being announced today. You heard it here first, folks: It'll be better than the last one. It'll be more magical than the last one. Magical-er.

Anyhoo. Our pals at iMore are rocking the all-day coverage, including a boatload of live commentary. And just like with the iPhone 4S event, there's a better than average chance that Phil will swing by to remind everybody that it's just an iPad, they should all go outside and enjoy the fresh air -- basically do his damndest to burst that Reality Distortion Field.

So basically I just got a new LG OLED TV (55 inch C5) and my Dad's C4 was seemingly able to display internal or embedded subtitles in TV shows through the built-in media player from external USB storage just fine with some tinkering in the menus.
But with mine, the subtitles are displaying all of the raw text in the subtitle files in the player, not using the arguments properly at all.
      Pictures included for reference

Is there any way to fix this other than literally doing subtitles for every episode externally, in a seperate file?
These subtitles work fine when I play from the exact same storage device on my phone through VLC, and again on my Dad's LG TV

I have a Roku device attached to my LG TV model # 55UQ7570PUJ. As I’m watching something on the Roku and using my Roku remote, every now and then something that I press on that Roku remote brings up the LG ‘Select a menu item’ screenwhere AV Reset is highlighted. Any idea what could be happening here? One clue: after I press the undo button on the LG remote to get rid of that window, I find that the volume is all the way down. Maybe I’m hitting the Roku remote’s Mute button in some weird way and that brings up the ‘Select a menu item’ window?
It’s surprising that something I press on the Roku remote brings up an LG dialog, but that’s what’s happening. Thanks for any help.

i've updated an oled 42C3 to software version 33.22.80 and after this update some videos doesn't work anymore, last week no problem. I have other videos with the same format and codecs and work, so i don't have any idea what can be the issue.

As digital transformation accelerates and hybrid work becomes the norm, business environments are evolving at an unprecedented pace. At LG, we recognize that this shift brings new challenges. Productivity is now intertwined with comfort, efficiency with user well-being and performance with environmental responsibility. In this new landscape, a one-size-fits-all display is as outdated as the floppy disk.
This is why we design our business monitors not simply as screens, but as industry-specific solutions shaped by the real needs of modern workplaces. From corporate offices to data-driven financial institutions, developer environments, creative studios and sustainability-focused public agencies, we deliver tailored display solutions that help organizations work smarter, faster and better.
For the Modern Corporate Office: Comfort That Drives Productivity

Today’s office is more connected and collaborative than ever, with video calls becoming a daily routine. With increasing screen time, the question becomes: how can a monitor make work easier, smarter and more comfortable?
Our business monitors put the user at the center. Models like the versatile LG UltraWide (34BA85QE) offer a fully adjustable stand – height, pivot and tilt – along with single-cable USB-C connectivity for a clean, organized desk setup. For meeting-heavy environments, the FHD 24/27BA850 models integrate a webcam and microphone, helping users stay ready for every call.
Across the lineup, features such as Reader Mode and Flicker Safe help reduce eye strain, supporting long-lasting comfort throughout the workday.
For Finance, Development and Creative Studios: Precision on an Expansive Canvas

Whether analyzing complex datasets, writing thousands of lines of code or crafting pixel-perfect creative work, professionals need monitors that show more – without compromising on quality.
The 5K2K LG UltraFine (40WT95UF) is designed precisely for this. Its expansive 21:9 screen with 5K2K (5120×2160) resolution offers about 33 percent more pixels than standard 4K, allowing users to compare dashboards, review code or work on layered visual content side by side without constant window switching.

Beyond space, the display’s performance is tailored for demanding creative environments. With 99 percent DCI-P3 coverage and VESA Certified DisplayHDR 600, it delivers the accurate color and detail essential for color grading and visual effects. A 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth motion for refined workflows.
As the world’s first Thunderbolt 5 5K2K display, it also delivers ultra-fast data transfer, up to 96W power delivery and 5K2K display connectivity – all through a single cable. This next-generation interface supports efficient production of financial dashboards, control room visuals and enterprise-grade content, ensuring stability, scalability and seamless performance.
For the Public Sector: A Commitment to Sustainability
Government agencies and public institutions are increasingly prioritizing ESG, making sustainability a core requirement rather than an option. These organizations need technology partners who share the same values.
LG’s business monitors are designed with energy efficiency and responsible materials in mind. Many models carry global certifications such as ENERGY STAR® or TCO Certified, and we provide Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) reports for greater transparency. Reflecting these efforts, several models in our 2025 lineup – including the 24BA560, 27BA560 (FHD) and 27BA54QB (QHD) – have earned EPEAT Gold certification, meeting key public sector procurement standards.
      A Partner for Your Business
By deeply understanding the needs of diverse industries, LG delivers monitor solutions that elevate productivity, enhance user well-being and support organizations’ long-term goals – including sustainability commitments.
We aim to be more than a technology provider. We strive to be a trusted partner in helping organizations build work environments where people can do their best work.
Your business is unique, and your technology should be too.

The way we work, learn and shop is changing fast. With hybrid work becoming the norm, education going digital and the lines between online and offline experiences blurring, there’s a growing need for technology that can keep up. Businesses today need tools that are flexible, easy to use and ready to adapt to whatever the day brings.
That’s exactly why we created the LG Smart Monitor Swing (model 32U889SA) – an all-in-one display engineered for modern enterprises. It’s a versatile smart platform that works without a PC, so you can use it anywhere, anytime, to boost productivity, improve communication and create better experiences for customers, students and teams.
Let’s take a look at how it’s making a difference across different spaces.
      Retail: Overcoming In-Store Communication Hurdles
In retail – particularly in fashion and beauty – it’s all about catching the customer’s eye and sharing the right information at the right time. But we know that installing large, fixed displays isn’t always easy in busy stores.

The LG Smart Monitor Swing directly addresses these issues. Its vibrant 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution display serves as a dynamic digital catalog, showcasing product details and promotions with stunning clarity. Furthermore, its movable stand overcomes installation barriers, allowing for flexible placement anywhere in-store. This enables retailers to strategically position the display to capture customer attention or instantly repurpose a space for a live commerce broadcast – maximizing both engagement and floor space.
Hospitals: A Dynamic Information Hub for Patients and Visitors
Hospitals are busy places, and keeping patients and visitors informed can be a challenge. Static posters and signs can be missed, and updating them takes time.

With the Smart Monitor Swing, you can easily share schedules, health notices or service information in real time. Place it at the front desk to welcome visitors, in waiting areas as a digital bulletin board or even use it as a central hub for teleconsultations. And because it’s mobile, you can move it wherever it’s needed most – no more being tied to one spot.
Education: Transforming Passive Viewing into Interactive Learning
A common challenge in educational settings, from kindergartens to senior classrooms, is fostering sustained student engagement and enabling meaningful real-time interaction. The Swing transforms the learning process by creating a more collaborative and effective environment.

Its adjustable, high-resolution screen provides an optimal viewing experience for remote learning and group activities. Powered by webOS, the smart monitor lets students and teachers directly interact with educational applications and whiteboard functions via its touch-sensitive screen, turning passive viewing into an active, participatory experience.
Workspaces: Redefining Collaboration and Personal Productivity
In small offices or meeting rooms, space is precious. The Smart Monitor Swing can be your team’s central hub for sharing ideas, running video calls or working on cloud-based apps.

With its 31.5-inch 4K screen, it’s perfect for sharing content with small groups. Its built-in webOS platform further enhances collaboration by allowing teams to access home office apps, including video conferencing apps2 and cloud-based applications – all without needing an external device such as a laptop or PC.

The Swing’s versatility also introduces a new way of working for professionals who value a clutter-free desk, such as fashion designers who need space for physical samples. Its unique, independent stand liberates the entire desk surface for a clean workspace. The large display, combined with versatile tilt, swivel and pivot functions, makes it easy to hold spontaneous discussions over materials, fostering a more dynamic and interactive workflow.
Sports & Entertainment: From Simple Simulators to Premium Experiences
Sports and entertainment venues often face space constraints that make it difficult to install or reposition large displays. The Swing provides a mobile and flexible solution, delivering large, high-resolution screens that can adapt to different environments. In screen golf facilities, for example, its innovative swinging design enables optimal positioning and effortless repositioning. Featuring stunning 4K resolution, the Swing delivers a more immersive player experience than the low-resolution screens found in many simulators, rendering highly detailed course graphics. Powered by webOS, it also supports seamless customization of club branding, promotional events and time-based announcements.

The versatility extends to various hospitality applications. In hotels and VIP lounges, it ensures vivid visuals for branded content, promotions and event information. When placed in business hotel rooms, the monitor allows guests to work conveniently, using webOS apps to maintain productivity without a PC.
For us, the LG Smart Monitor Swing isn’t just another screen – it’s a core enterprise solution that helps businesses work smarter, communicate better and make the most of their space. And we’re not stopping here. We’ll keep creating innovative display solutions that break free from the limits of traditional monitors, so you can keep adapting, growing and thriving.
