SEOUL, Dec. 17, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) will unveil an immersive experiential space at CES 2026 that brings the company’s future mobility vision to life through Affectionate Intelligence. The exhibit invites visitors to experience firsthand how AI can reshape the driver, front-passenger and rear seating areas, reimagining the whole cabin as a more intuitive and human-centered space designed to enhance every ride.
This new series of solutions has earned the CES 2026 Best of Innovation Award in In-Vehicle Entertainment, marking the first time the LG Vehicle Solution Company has won the category’s top honor. The system brings together cutting-edge display technology, advanced in-cabin sensing, and on-device AI under a comprehensive AI-Defined Vehicle architecture.
The showcase features three core experiential solutions: the Mobility Display Solution, which transforms the windshield into an intelligent interface; the Automotive Vision Solution, which enhances safety and delivers context-aware information to the driver and front passenger via Vision AI; and the In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution, which provides personalized content recommendations, memory-based media and real-time translation.
In the Mobility Display Solution zone, visitors can experience how AI intuitively presents essential information through a transparent OLED-equipped windshield. For example, when approaching a traffic signal, AI displays the remaining wait time above the signal, selectively providing only the most relevant information at that moment. In autonomous driving mode, the system analyzes the surrounding environment and generates corresponding visual scenes: cherry blossom petals flutter across the display on tree-lined roads, while a monotonous tunnel transforms into an enchanting forest, creating an immersive, near-virtual-reality experience.
The Automotive Vision Solution is an advanced in-cabin sensing solution powered by LG’s Automotive Vision System, designed to enhance safety while enabling context-aware, empathetic interactions and personalized content delivery. The solution tracks driver movement, gaze direction, attention, clothing color and gestures in real time, allowing the system to understand and respond to the occupant’s state. Through eye tracking and gesture control, the system expands the range of interest-based information, while anamorphic display graphics heighten immersion and realism. For instance, in autonomous driving mode, if a front-seat passenger looks at an advertisement displayed on a building, gaze recognition can trigger related information on the passenger display, providing seamless product discovery and purchasing.
The In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution delivers personalized entertainment and interactive communication. By recognizing scenery outside the vehicle, AI can display photos linked to past memories associated with that location on the window display. Passengers can share these moments in real time through video calls with family members. During long journeys, AI recommends content tailored to individual tastes, providing entertainment that turns miles into moments. In another scenario, if a restaurant staff member communicates using sign language, AI interprets the gestures into on-screen text to support smooth, two-way communication.
“We are bringing our future mobility vision to life by embedding AI across our solutions – many of which, including in-cabin sensing, are already in production with global OEMs,” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution Company. “By accelerating these innovations to market, we aim to pioneer the era of AI-driven vehicles in the years ahead.”

Tucked in the heart of Tennessee, LG’s smart factory is a modern marvel – designed for speed, precision and innovation. At the helm is Charles Lonergan, Manufacturing Director, whose steady leadership keeps this high-tech operation running smoothly. We spent a day with Charles to learn more about his role, the technology behind the factory and what it takes to lead one of LG’s most advanced production sites.
From Inspection to Innovation: A Day in the Life
Charles oversees the production of LG’s front load washers, top load washers, dryers and the sleek WashTower. His day starts the same way, every day – with a walk across the factory floor.
“Each day starts with a walk-through,” he says. “We check equipment, review workflow and make sure everything’s set to hit our production targets.” Mornings are all about quality. Charles and his team review every production line to ensure each unit meets LG’s standards. As the day goes on, meetings shift focus to what’s ahead: upcoming products, refining processes and tracking performance metrics. “No two days are exactly the same,” Charles says. “But the goal always is – run better, solve faster and never stop improving.”
A Fully Integrated Manufacturing Ecosystem
One of the things that makes this plant unique is how much happens under one roof. From injection molding and metal stamping to painting and packaging, nearly every part of the process is handled on-site.
“This level of vertical integration gives us complete control over quality and timing,” Charles explains. Take the unmanned logistics warehouse, for example – it stores large, molded components and uses smart trolleys to move them through the facility. The system tracks inventory, controls curing time and ensures parts arrive at the next station right when they’re needed.
High-Tech Meets Hands-On Training
With a factory powered by automation – Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and AI-based inspection tools – keeping everything running smoothly takes serious know-how.
“To support all this tech, we built hands-on training programs from the ground up,” Charles says. “That’s been key to stabilizing operations and helping our team work confidently with advanced systems.” Ongoing training is a must, especially in an industry where technology keeps evolving. The Tennessee team is making sure its skills evolve just as quickly.
Quality Built Into Every Step
At this factory, quality isn’t a final check – it’s built into every phase. The team uses a three-stage process: raw material checks, 100 percent inspection of each unit for function and appearance, and final sampling before shipment. AI vision systems help verify precise fastening. Multi-camera setups monitor each unit’s key checkpoints. These technologies help catch errors early, before they become issues down the line.
Innovation From Day One
This factory was built to be smart from the start. That gave Charles and his team the chance to design workflows around automation and robotics – rather than adding them later. Robots handle complex or physically demanding tasks. AGVs and AMRs navigate the space using QR codes and LiDAR. Workers, meanwhile, focus on higher-value responsibilities, making the whole operation more efficient and safer. “Robotics aren’t just for show,” says Charles. “They’re woven into our everyday workflow.”
Pride in Progress: From Construction to High-Volume Production
Charles has been with the Tennessee plant since day one – literally.
“I’ve been here since before the first wall went up,” he says. “Now we’re producing over 300 units per hour. That’s something to be proud of.” The journey hasn’t always been easy – ramping up operations and fine-tuning quality took time. But every challenge helped the team grow stronger and more agile. “Continuous improvement is just how we operate,” Charles says. “We’re always thinking about what’s next.”
Work, Life and Balance
Leadership at this level is demanding – but Charles makes it a point to protect his time, both at work and at home. “I rely on daily planning, time-blocking and a strong support system,” he says. “Time with family is just as important as hitting production goals. You can’t give your best at work if things aren’t balanced outside of it.”

At the core of it all was LG AI Home – a connected suite of appliances and services powered by our unique Affectionate Intelligence. Designed with European lifestyles in mind, LG AI Home is a fully integrated system where products communicate with each other to improve performance, save time and energy, and provide you with the personalized care and comfort you deserve.
Key elements of LG ThinQ AI include ThinQ UP, which lets you customize your appliances with features that fit your needs, and ThinQ Care, which delivers proactive maintenance to help keep your devices running at their best. This empathetic AI elevates home life by putting your happiness – and the health of the planet – first, prioritizing convenience and sustainability at every turn.
The LG booth was divided into several discrete zones, each showing a different aspect of our AI Home vision. The Hero Zone, located at the booth entrance, served as the centerpiece – illustrating how our appliances work together like an orchestra, with ThinQ AI as the conductor, bringing harmony to your home.
In the Fit & Max Zone, we recreated European-style living spaces to show how effortlessly our innovations can fit into real homes. Perfect for compact spaces, the lineup included kitchen and living solutions designed to save space while maximizing capacity – like our new refrigerator with a Zero Clearance Hinge.
The AI Core Tech Zone highlighted the advanced AI technologies behind our latest Better Life innovations. In laundry, we introduced the AI-driven HeatPump WasherDryer, delivering a complete wash-and-dry cycle with an “A” energy rating. Features such as AI Wash senses fabric type and weight, while specialized cycles help reduce the amount of microplastics shed by clothing during washing, protecting both you and the water supply.
Over in the AI Home Zone, visitors saw LG AI Home in action through real-life scenarios. Live demonstrations made clear the many benefits of our smart ThinQ ON-powered ecosystem, where you can use voice commands, automated routines and personalized settings to create the home lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of.
We also introduced Spielraum, our AI mobility solution that extends the smart home into vehicles, resulting in a seamless, connected experience that lets you take the comforts of home on the road with you.
Vacuum cleaning solutions were another highlight of our IFA showcase. The new generation of vacuum cleaners we revealed included smarter robot vacuums, a built-in docking station with automated capabilities
The LG innovations displayed at IFA 2025 also reflected our continued focus on personalization and energy efficiency; two of the most important considerations for customers seeking to buy new home solutions, both in Europe and around the world.

Serious About Sustainability, Company Introduces New Material and Production
Process to Minimize Environmental Impact
SEOUL, Aug. 18, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is reducing plastic consumption and carbon emissions by adopting a new material and manufacturing process for its commercial 4-way system air conditioners. Aligned with the company’s Better Life for All ESG vision, these latest efforts demonstrate an unwavering commitment to minimizing environmental impacts.
TÜV Rheinland, a global testing and certification organization, recently confirmed that LG’s newly instituted production process has lowered carbon emissions from the manufacturing of its 4-way system air conditioners to 14.85 kilograms of CO₂ equivalents* per unit. Along with the shift in manufacturing method, the primary driver of this reduction is the introduction of a new material used for the air conditioners’ exterior panels.
Moving away from conventional plastic manufacturing techniques, LG employs a foaming injection molding process whereby nitrogen gas is injected into the mold to create bubbles within the material. This innovative approach reduces plastic use by approximately 900 grams per unit. Additionally, LG has replaced the use of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) with Polypropylene (PP), which has a lower carbon footprint.
These improvements are expected to cut plastic consumption by roughly 270 tons annually and CO₂ equivalent carbon emissions by over 4,400 tons each year – a reduction comparable to the carbon absorbed in one year by a 30-year-old pine forest covering more than 580 soccer fields.
LG began applying its foaming injection molding method to 4-way system air conditioners in June and plans to gradually expand it to other residential and commercial models.
In pursuit of carbon neutrality, LG aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6 percent by 2030 compared to 2017 levels, as outlined in its Sustainability Report. To reach this target, the company is integrating high-efficiency equipment into its manufacturing processes and adopting renewable energy sources to produce high-efficiency appliances leveraging its proprietary Core Tech.
A prime example of Core Tech is LG’s inverter motor technology, which minimizes energy waste by adjusting motor and compressor speeds in real time according to demand. The company has also advanced its environmental compliance by launching an inverter scroll chiller using R32 refrigerant, which has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) about 30 percent lower than R410A refrigerant.
“The new material and manufacturing process we’ve introduced for our 4-way system air conditioner underscored our efforts to minimizing environmental impacts,” said Bae Cheung-hyun, head of the System Air Conditioners Business at the LG ES Company. “LG will continue to leverage innovative technologies to develop eco-conscious air conditioners for a healthier planet.”

The company recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with LogisValley at LG Digital Park in Pyeongtaek, Korea. The agreement marks a significant milestone in jointly developing next-generation logistics center solutions by combining the two companies’ respective strengths.
As Korea’s largest integrated logistics company, LogisValley provides comprehensive services in logistics center development, leasing and consulting to a wide range of domestic and global clients. The company also directly operates over 50 logistics centers around the world.
The partnership is grounded in a shared goal: to deliver customized smart logistics solutions that address the evolving needs of global customers. This will be achieved by integrating LG’s expertise in industrial robotics and digital twin technologies with LogisValley’s capabilities in logistics center design, construction and operations.
A Strategic Alliance for Smart Logistics Transformation
Through this collaboration, the two companies will work together to advance smart logistics solutions and pursue joint go-to-market strategies targeting global customers. Notably, LG will collaborate with LogisValley from the early design stages of new logistics centers to ensure optimal integration of LG’s smart factory technologies, maximizing synergy and operational efficiency.
LG’s smart factory portfolio encompasses a wide range of capabilities, including industrial robots, digital twin-based production system design and monitoring, and big data and generative AI-powered process, safety and quality management. These solutions are expected to generate significant impact in logistics operations, where accuracy and efficiency are key.
A major focus will be automation. LG’s broad lineup of robots – such as autonomous mobile robots equipped with robotic arms – can automate labor-intensive logistics tasks like box picking. Vision AI technology minimizes errors in packaging and product sorting, enhancing precision and reducing reliance on manual labor.
In addition, LG’s extensive experience in managing large volumes of manufacturing components across its production sites enables the company to provide automation solutions that optimize space utilization. By efficiently categorizing and storing items, LG’s solutions facilitate robotic outbound processes within logistics centers.
Digital twin technology serves as another key differentiator. By creating virtual replicas of logistics environments, LG can simulate and analyze material flows to design the most effective robotic workflows. These simulations allow optimization before deployment, while real-time monitoring helps proactively detect and address potential disruptions, improving overall operational efficiency.
Internal Deployment and Market Opportunity
Beyond third-party applications, LG and LogisValley will apply these smart logistics solutions internally to enhance their own operations. Customized systems will be implemented at LogisValley’s self-operated logistics centers and LG’s home appliance logistics hubs to further boost internal productivity and efficiency.

Among the featured offerings by LG is its latest hotel TV – the first in the world to support both Apple AirPlay and Google Cast. Guests can stream content from their devices simply by scanning a QR code, with all personal data automatically erased at checkout to ensure privacy and security.
Other key offerings include the LG MAGNIT All-in-One, a 136-inch micro LED display with integrated controller and speaker, ideal for business environments, and a next-generation interactive whiteboard equipped with AI summary and chatbot features tailored for educational settings. All of these solutions can be integrated into LG’s Business Cloud platform, which provides seamless hardware-software management for commercial displays.
“This partnership is a major step forward in becoming a trusted partner in the fast-growing smart logistics industry,” said Jeong Dae-hwa, head of LG’s Production-engineering Research Institute. “By leveraging the logistics expertise we’ve built through operating our Lighthouse smart factories, we aim to create real value for our customers.”
