Over the past two years, the virtual space has become increasingly important for brands seeking to engage with consumers and spread the word about their latest and greatest offerings. Rather than create an online showroom or virtual exhibition to highlight the virtues of its growing lineup of LG UltraGear™ gaming monitors, LG went for something a little more…explosive.

Fortnite, for those who don’t know, is the globally popular and free-to-play battle royale game developed and published by Epic Games. And it is here, within Fortnite Creative* – the game’s sandbox mode – that LG has launched the ‘UltraCity’ LG UltraGear brand map. The exhilarating new map will soon play host to a special, action-packed competition event. Fortnite users can experience the fun and excitement of LG’s UltraCity by entering island code 7006-5966-2409 in Fortnite’s Creative mode.

LG’s UltraCity map in Fortnite puts players to the test as they battle their opponents for control of the UltraGear Port, Gaming Monitor Factory and UltraGear Brand Lounge. To bring a sense of realism to the map, many buildings and sites in the virtual space are based on actual LG Electronics facilities and locations. Those with eyes sharp enough to capture the carefully hidden LG UltraGear brand slogan – ‘Be the Game Changer’ – and complete certain tasks within the allotted time can earn a special weapon to help defeat their enemies and finish the map in victory.

To celebrate the UltraCity launch and competition, LG is holding a variety of events, including the livestreaming on Twitch of famous ‘Fortniters’ playing their way through the new map. On April 15, Fortnite users can get involved in the action themselves by joining teams led by popular Fortnite influencers from North America and Europe. These battles will be broadcasted live on each influencer’s channel and on LG UltraGear’s official

channel. Users on the winning squads can claim prizes after verifying their participation by uploading a screenshot of their UltraCity gameplay on LG UltraGear’s official Twitter account .

The UltraCity map in Fortnite is best experienced on one of LG’s premium LG UltraGear gaming monitors. Designed with serious gamers in mind, the brand’s IPS displays are the ‘Right Gear for Victory,’ delivering the gorgeous picture quality, high refresh rates and one millisecond Gray-to-Gray (GTG) response times needed for immersive gaming.

LG UltraGear has built a stellar reputation among the global gaming community since its establishment in 2018. In addition to providing exceptional gaming experiences with its superior monitors, LG UltraGear has been an active supporter of esports, engaging in collaborations, sponsorships and activations that have brought the brand closer to its audience. As a part of these ongoing efforts, the new Fortnite map and upcoming competition event will give LG yet another valuable opportunity to interact with gamers, while also delivering an ‘explosive’ outside-the-square brand experience.

I can stream ABC content using either the iView app on our LG G1 65" OLED, or via the iView Android TV app that is installed on a Chromecast with Google TV that is plugged into one of the G1 HDMI ports. If I stream content using the app on the TV, every few minutes there's a momentary (fraction of a second) interruption to both sound and video. If I stream the same content using the app on the Chromecast, I get no such interruptions. Both TV and Chromecast are using wired Ethernet connections to the same switch, so I can't see that these interruptions are due to a network problem, or I'd see them on both devices. It would seem to be a problem with the app provided on the TV. Other streaming services that we access via apps on the TV (Netflix, Stan, Amazon Prime, etc) do not show the same problem.

      Hello all,

From what I can tell, this may not be supported anymore.  I am on webOS TV Version 7.1.0-68 (mullet-maria).

I just purchased an OLED 42 inch C2.  When I select Multiview, the two hdmi ports are not an available combination.

I have turned of CEC (now SIMPLINK) for both HDMI inputs as I read in a post from 2018.

      Thank you,
      Brendan

To Give Corporate Customers the Level of Protection they Demand, Company is
Applying Reliable Anti-Eavesdropping System to Latest Digital Signage Solutions

SEOUL, Aug. 11, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) is introducing an innovative eavesdropping detection solution for its commercial signage products. Going forward, the cutting-edge security system will be applied to the company’s flagship models, including LG LED All-in-One, LG LED Bloc and LG MAGNIT, as well as select video walls and UHD signage products supporting webOS 4.1.
As demand for commercial signage products expands across multiple industries, so does the need for related technologies that serve the needs of companies operating in different sectors. Although counter-surveillance is important in every sector, some entities such as corporates, government agencies, national institutions and the military prioritize confidentiality and the protection of personal information. LG, in partnership with high-tech security technology provider
link hidden, please login to view, has addressed this growing need by installing a dedicated app that runs with GITSN’s eavesdropping detection terminal in LG’s smart signage platform, webOS. The new eavesdropping detection function displays a warning icon on screen in real time as soon as it detects any abnormal signal. The system utilizes simple icons to keep attendees updated on just how secure they are at all times. Moreover, LG’s webOS-based detection function, which can cover multiple conference/control rooms at once, analyzes every inch of a potential risk fast and accurately to alert those in charge immediately.
“LG’s newest solution detects various potential, unexpected risks and reports it immediately, while also bringing the company’s security management up to date,” said Paik Ki-mun, senior vice president and head of the Information Display business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “LG will continue to introduce the high-definition display solutions that not only express the most vivid colors and clear images to date, but also let consumers feel safe while they use them.”
The latest signage solution will be available in the third quarter of 2022, starting with key markets in Middle East and Asia, with other markets to follow.

My Lg TV which has the smart functions and magic remote is playing up.
I often use web browser or you tube or similar apps to watch videos etc.
Recently however, it keeps crashing and displays a message to the effect that the memory in the app is low or it need to close to free up more memory?
My TV is less then 2 years old and is doing this. I love the telly and the smart features especially the web browser function, however this recent issue is making me think about the longevity of such LG smart TVs and whether I should've spent a few hundred more and got another telly.

Please can someone advise what I can do to fix this as it takes away the whole point of smart TV.
      Thanks
