CES Best of Innovation Award Winner Redefines
In-Vehicle Experience Powered by Affectionate Intelligence

SEOUL, Dec. 17, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) will unveil an immersive experiential space at CES 2026 that brings the company’s future mobility vision to life through Affectionate Intelligence. The exhibit invites visitors to experience firsthand how AI can reshape the driver, front-passenger and rear seating areas, reimagining the whole cabin as a more intuitive and human-centered space designed to enhance every ride.
This new series of solutions has earned the CES 2026 Best of Innovation Award in In-Vehicle Entertainment, marking the first time the LG Vehicle Solution Company has won the category’s top honor. The system brings together cutting-edge display technology, advanced in-cabin sensing, and on-device AI under a comprehensive AI-Defined Vehicle architecture.
The showcase features three core experiential solutions: the Mobility Display Solution, which transforms the windshield into an intelligent interface; the Automotive Vision Solution, which enhances safety and delivers context-aware information to the driver and front passenger via Vision AI; and the In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution, which provides personalized content recommendations, memory-based media and real-time translation.
In the Mobility Display Solution zone, visitors can experience how AI intuitively presents essential information through a transparent OLED-equipped windshield. For example, when approaching a traffic signal, AI displays the remaining wait time above the signal, selectively providing only the most relevant information at that moment. In autonomous driving mode, the system analyzes the surrounding environment and generates corresponding visual scenes: cherry blossom petals flutter across the display on tree-lined roads, while a monotonous tunnel transforms into an enchanting forest, creating an immersive, near-virtual-reality experience.
The Automotive Vision Solution is an advanced in-cabin sensing solution powered by LG’s Automotive Vision System, designed to enhance safety while enabling context-aware, empathetic interactions and personalized content delivery. The solution tracks driver movement, gaze direction, attention, clothing color and gestures in real time, allowing the system to understand and respond to the occupant’s state. Through eye tracking and gesture control, the system expands the range of interest-based information, while anamorphic display graphics heighten immersion and realism. For instance, in autonomous driving mode, if a front-seat passenger looks at an advertisement displayed on a building, gaze recognition can trigger related information on the passenger display, providing seamless product discovery and purchasing.
The In-Vehicle Entertainment Solution delivers personalized entertainment and interactive communication. By recognizing scenery outside the vehicle, AI can display photos linked to past memories associated with that location on the window display. Passengers can share these moments in real time through video calls with family members. During long journeys, AI recommends content tailored to individual tastes, providing entertainment that turns miles into moments. In another scenario, if a restaurant staff member communicates using sign language, AI interprets the gestures into on-screen text to support smooth, two-way communication.
“We are bringing our future mobility vision to life by embedding AI across our solutions – many of which, including in-cabin sensing, are already in production with global OEMs,” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution Company. “By accelerating these innovations to market, we aim to pioneer the era of AI-driven vehicles in the years ahead.”

Collaborative R&D Driving Development of LG’s Latest Innovations in
      High-performance, Sustainable HVAC Solutions

SEOUL, Sep. 18, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG), in partnership with some of the world’s foremost universities, is delivering new innovations in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). Through a robust program of R&D, LG and its collaborators are developing advanced technologies that help deliver better efficiency and sustainability, supporting the company’s vision for a Better Life for All.
One highlight of LG’s dedication to driving heat pump R&D is the Global Heat Pump Consortium, which comprises several regional clusters, including the European Consortium for Advanced Heat Pump Research (ECAHR). Established in June 2024, ECAHR recently released research on LG’s Air-to-Air Heat Pump (AAHP). The study, conducted in Norway, focused on real-world tests that demonstrated the high efficiency of LG’s AAHP. Findings suggest that LG’s R32-based AAHP system can consume up to 90 percent less energy and reduce carbon emissions by about 99 percent compared to conventional oil-fired boilers.
The study was published in last month’s edition of REHVA Journal, one of Europe’s leading HVAC publications. This joint research between LG and its Nordic university partner, Oslo Metropolitan University, indicates the performance and potential economic benefits of LG’s AAHP, which is designed for the cold climates of Northern Europe. Based on the findings, LG plans to launch a new AAHP product targeting markets in Northern Europe later this year.
Along with developing next-generation technologies for advanced HVAC products, LG is working together with top universities to resolve various customer pain points. For example, the company has been conducting research with South Korea’s Yonsei University into methods for eliminating common indoor allergens. Their work has shown that the application of photocatalyzed titanium dioxide reduces the presence of various airborne inhalants associated with allergic reactions. LG is set to carry out more detailed studies with the goal of developing an air care system that can effectively capture and remove different types of indoor allergens.
In addition, LG and China’s Tianjin University jointly investigated the long-term performance of air purifiers in typical Chinese households, especially kitchens where oil-based cooking is common. Over nearly a year, the research team utilized ThinQ data analysis to evaluate customers’ living spaces and usage patterns.
The findings revealed that the filter’s ability to remove particulate matter (PM) dropped sharply in environments with high concentrations of oil fumes, prompting LG to develop filter technologies that maintain performance in challenging conditions. The study also monitored changes in harmful gas removal performance and found that LG’s integrated dust and deodorization filter worked nearly twice as fast and had double the capacity compared to conventional deodorization filters. These upgrades have already been applied to LG’s latest air purifiers.
LG has also conducted a variety of research with the University of Florida on how to reduce harmful airborne substances resulting from forest fires. One of the key discoveries of these studies relates to the formation of secondary organic aerosols (SOA)*. By combining physical experiments with modeling data, the research shows the impact that different environmental variables have on SOA formation. The results have been published in renowned academic journals, including Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics and Science of the Total Environment.
“Through close collaboration with leading universities, we are advancing technologies that enhance HVAC energy efficiency and performance to create healthier, more sustainable living environments,” said Oh Sai-kee, head of the LG ES R&D Lab.

The certification ceremony was held on August 19 (local time) at the Hai Phong plant.
CSMS is an internationally recognized framework that assesses whether cybersecurity processes are systematically applied across the entire lifecycle of vehicles and automotive components, from planning and development to production, operation and post-production management.
Hai Phong is the first facility in the world, among TÜV Rheinland-certified cases, to be awarded both CSMS Level 2 and Level 3 certifications simultaneously. This achievement extends the CSMS Level 3 certification previously awarded to LG Vehicle Solution (VS) Company’s management system, validating Hai Phong’s ability to apply rigorous cybersecurity measures in mass production.
As LG VS Company’s largest vehicle component manufacturing site, Hai Phong produces the majority of products supplied to major global automakers. By establishing and applying advanced cybersecurity management systems at the facility, LG VS Company has reinforced its position as an industry leader in protecting automotive components from emerging digital threats.
The need for robust cybersecurity at both key administrative and production facilities has become essential amid the industry-wide shift toward Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). Cybersecurity risks during manufacturing are increasing, making it critical for suppliers to implement strong, standardized safeguards.
Global regulatory requirements reiterate this urgency. The UNECE R155 regulation, implemented in 2021 and adopted by the European Union and 56 countries across Asia, Oceania and Africa, mandates that vehicles be certified with a CSMS before entering the market. Since July 2024, only vehicles meeting this requirement have been allowed in these markets, with the U.S. and China also tightening their automotive cybersecurity regulations.
LG has steadily strengthened cybersecurity across all areas of LG VS Company. At the corporate administrative level, LG achieved CSMS Level 2 certification in 2023 and Level 3 certification last year. With Hai Phong now Level 3 certified, the company plans to pursue certification for its other major manufacturing facilities.
In 2024, LG also earned the Automotive SPICE for Cybersecurity certification, a standard developed by European OEMs to evaluate the cybersecurity and software reliability of automotive component suppliers. Major U.S. automakers, including General Motors and Ford, are now adopting this standard for supplier assessments as well.
“Internationally recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CSMS Level 3 strengthen our position as a trusted partner to global automakers,” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of the LG VS Company. “Through an unmatched commitment to security and quality, LG will continue to enhance its leadership in the automotive components market.”
