DNS Settings is ignored

Question

Posted

Hello

I have a custom DNS server on my internal network and wanted the LG webos to pass its DNS requests through it.

However when I configure the IP of my DNS server in the TV DNS settings, internet services still work but DNS queries don't go through my DNS server.

Why does the TV ignores my DNS settings ?

Yes

I have set IPv6 to disabled because on the local network the IP I have set is using IPV4 (192.168.1.22)

Now it works properly and I can see DNS queries going through my local server

I been going through the same thing right now. I just got me a 2021 LG TV with WebOS 6.0, and i try to use a custom DNS from my provider, it connects and works, but the TV ignores the custom DNS settings. Have you found a fix for it?

Thank you for the answer, buddy!

I'm using a IPV4 network settings too, and the IPV6 it's disabled in the router, also in the TV network settings. But it still not working.
Could you tell me, please, how your router settings are set? If you don't mind, of course...

I have a router with a closed firmware from my ISP so the settings are not very customizable.

I just know I have IPv6 enabled and I have a public facing IPv6 IP.

On the internal network though it works with IPv4. I didn't configure anything on my router except a static IPv4 DHCP lease for my internal DNS server which is a raspberry with PiHole installed.

Add the option to turn off mouse acceleration. I think I would fins it much easier to aim the pointer if I could disable it. I always disable it on computers. You can just add it next to the pointer speed setting under General > System > Additional Settings > Pointer Options

Two other settings I think would make sense to have would be a setting to disable the shake-remote-to-show-pointer feature. Although I like it I can sometimes find it annoying, so why not let the users decide. I always hate it when there aren't settings for things like these.
The other setting would be to disable the pointer completely as many users have written that they want to disable it.

I've had Universal Control via the smart remote sucessfully controlling the audio (volume) for my LG OLED 48C1LB tv via my Sherwood RD-6118R amp for a while now; But following a power cut, the remote no longer controls the amp/tv volume?
The audio IS still being played through the amp using the optical OUT/IN but I have no control of the volume
I've removed and re-initialised the settings for this amp in Universal Control Settings but following the "success" message, the remote does not control the volume on the amp/tv.
      What am I missing?

In "CMP settings": there is a huge list of vendors, IAB and Google.
You can deselect consent for those.
However when you go back, in the Google consent are all still enabled.
Reject All doesn;t work. Deselecting individually and clicking "Confirm my choices" doesn't work. The Google ones are back on.
      That's really bad, GDPR.

When in an app, hitting home on the remote doesn't do anything. I was looking to see if there's a webOS update available, and now I see trying to open settings locks it all up. The only way to get out of an app right now or get it out of the state where trying settings locks it up is to power off and back on again.
      Things I've tried:
      1. Restart. I've tried various ways including unplugging and holding the power button on the TV for a while. I left it unplugged all night.
      2. Repair of the remote.
I don't know what else to try as I can't even get into settings to see if there's an update to fix this mess. Any thoughts?

We are able to EDIT some of the functions that are in the initial SETTINGS screen.  However other functions that are layers deep into the settings are unable to be dragged/dropped into that EDIT function. Like ASPECT RATIO. To get to that feature requires a long list of clicking things. It is a function that we use a LOT in order to prevent screen burn-in on these OLED screens. (to be able to watch a channel for extended period of time that happens to have that stupid LOGO or "crawl" along the bottom. Like CNN or MSNBC).
