webOS Nation: There's now an old Palm logo on mynewpalm.com... whaaaaat?

There's now an old Palm logo on mynewpalm.com... whaaaaat?

What. Is. Happening?

Two weeks ago we found out that palm.com was redirecting to mynewpalm.com. It was weird to see activity on the old domain after so many years of silence, and now thanks to a heads-up from @LuneOSfans we've seen another update: the orange globe palm logo.

There was plenty of speculation about what was going on here, with nothing really concrete. The domain was registered by the same company that registered by the same company that managed the registration for gr.am. But what was going on with the Palm redirect? Perhaps somebody had purchased the Palm name and was setting it up for their new ocean-view condominiums or something.

WP Central

But now if you visit, you get a Palm logo with the cycling text underneath of "Coming soon" and "Smart move" (set in the Copperplate font, so sorry about that). It's a repeating mp4 video (here's the file) and nothing more right now (there's nothing hiding in the source that we can see).

It's worth noting that this is the second-to-last Palm logo. They dropped the circular orange background and went with just the angular wordmark from inside well before the HP purchase. But maybe that old logo's being used for nostalgia's sake, to tug at our heartstrings.

Either way. What. The. Hell?

    • Question: how to "forget/skip" wrong XPLAY update

Hello,   I've read on the XPLAY forum about various problems with the latest version, so I decided to postpone the update until the issues are solved. I really don't know where the problem is but the developer said: "They have approved a quiet old version what has no online update functionality and the only way to fix anything or add new functionality is to send it to LG QA team … but they arrrrr soooooo much slow. Ive send them (on several days ago) version latest dev version with online update functionality. It will allow me to react to bugs much faster …"   My setup is: TV: LG 55EG920V, WebOS 2.0, Software version 04.25.70 XPLAY: 20180322.1.2.8 (ONLINE) PLEX: 1.13.8.5395   The version available for update in LG content store is 2.189.171 (08.10.2018). Many users complained they couldn't login anymore after upgrading to this version.   Could you please tell me what is the correct version should I update and when it'll be available for my TV? Also, is there any way to skip this update?  I just want to avoid an accidental update which would broke the functionality...   Kind regards,

    • Mynewpalm.com has some activity!

Some time ago, palm.com was redirecting to mynewpalm.com and at one point there was splash page with the old palm logo. Checking today, palm.com still redirects to mynewpalm.com but instead of a page not found, it now takes you to: Then to http://home.sqreem.com/login/?urlBefore=http://mynewpalm.com/   Question is, what is SQREEM? http://home.sqreem.com/home/?tabpage=aboutsqreem Now that's in Google Chrome but in edge, mynewpalm.com comes up as:   TLC is supposed to revive the palm branded phones but with Android: https://www.extremetech.com/mobile/254835-tcl-will-revive-palm-brand-devices-slated-2018
