Odd issue netflix on webos tv

Lookslikerain75

Question

I use netflix on webos tv with for profiles in netflix. Recently started to have issues with my netflix profile videos will not play they buffer slowly to 25% then nothing. Logged this with netflix who where helpful but baffled. The videos that dont play on my profile play perfectly on other profiles and perfectly on other devices on my profile. I have tried unistalling app resetting tv. Tried wifi and wired. Issues i can pinpoint point to combination of netflix on webos since update 4.0.9 updated to 4.1.0 same issue. Other thing i notice when video does not play the netflix network test shows internet connection is. Present but bandwidth of 0mbps. The tv itself using the speed 2 app shows between 40-80mbps. So it seems the app cant determine bandwidth or contact a streaming server. This is backed up as on my router it shows no attempt to contact a netflix ip when the videos do not play. So its not my internet but the app or tv or both not routing traffic or blocking it somehow. Why this only affects one profile in netflix and only on the webos tv i and netflix have no idea. They have said it must be a webis issue. Logged it by email to LG. Anyone else seen this? All other streaming apps work perfectly. Personally think something changed in webos update in january that altered routing or dns caching that the netflix app doesnt like.

Any ideas comments welcome. Tv is lf652v

It does look like a dns issue. Had to set wan and lan dns to googles then factory reset tv. Had a few issues but they seem to be slowly resolving themselves. One thing that could help is if you could setup a secondary dns on the tv and force dns cache clear.

Netflix is now working more reliably but not 100%. Channel5 app does not stream anything at all. Bbc iplayer and play movies always work.

I will monitor netflix for next few days.

Thanks for the feedback.

In this installment of On the Job, we go inside LG’s Air Science Research Center to get a close and personal look at how researchers are helping to bring better air quality to the home.
What do smoke detectors, smart doorbells and security systems all have in common? They are all ways to make our homes safer. But few consumers think about the safety of the air we breathe at home. Clean air is more important to our health and wellbeing today, with people and families spending more time at home than before social distancing became the status quo. But cooking, cleaning, heating and pets all affect the air we breathe. Consider nearby construction activity, the changing of seasons and passing cars and there are even more factors outside of our control that affect family health. With this in mind, LG is investing even more in research to increase its technological capabilities and to better understand the science behind indoor air quality.

Established in 2018, the LG Air Science Research Center in Seoul is dedicated to the research and development of next-generation core technologies for use in the company’s air care products including air purifiers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers. By analyzing the properties of dust particles, toxic gases and microorganisms that accumulate under different conditions, the lab’s researchers are able to develop more effective methods of cleaning and making the air throughout the home safer for its occupants to breathe.
The Air Science Research Center is divided into three main sections: Home Environment Test Facility, Microorganism Test Facility and Dust and Odor Test Facility. In the Home Environment Test Facility, researchers recreate real-life environments to assess the effectiveness of new air care technologies. The facility houses an enclosed area where the ceiling height and floor space can be adjusted to mimic the interior dimensions of various buildings, from small apartments to large commercial spaces.

The Microorganism Test Facility is where the performance of LG’s air purifiers are put to the test. Here, various microorganisms are dispersed and the effectiveness of each air purifier model’s performance is recorded. At the Dust and Odor Test Facility, the speed and efficacy of the company’s advanced filters on fine dust is measured by introducing dust or gas particles into a sealed test space. The deodorizing capability of LG’s air quality technologies is also tested here. In recognition of its high standards and reliability of its methodology, the LG Air Science Research Center was officially accredited as a national microbiological and fine dust tester by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) this February.

“To help create a better home environment as most of the world was sheltering at home, we introduced PuriCare Air Purifier with special features for coping with pet hair and odors,” said Noh Jin-hee, a specialist at the Air Science Research Center. “We visited pet shops, pet cafes and homes to study the air conditions which we captured as data. We analyzed and used the information to develop the most effective filter and filtration settings for managing the air when living with furry companions.”

To expand the knowledge base and refine research methods related to indoor air quality, LG cooperates and shares its information with other experts and specialists in related fields. Through the efforts of its dedicated researchers and investment in a world-class R&D and testing facility, LG is better able to live up to its reputation as a global air care solution provider to create a more comfortable, pleasant and healthier home for both consumers and their four-legged friends.

I am developing an app wich is a video player for an iptv provider.
The app is based on html5, css and javascript.
At this point everything done till now is working and tested in 5 different browsers and in a Samsung smart tv.
The problem is that when I installed this app in a LG tv it messed up all the interface.
After searching for the problem I discovered that the use og css grid was the problem.
LG WebOs doesn't have support for the grid system? The css grid exists at least from 2017.
Any clues on how to solve this problem or I have to rewrite one version of the app only for the LG?

      Thanks for any help.

Samsung has made fridges with touchscreens before. LG has made fridges with doors that turn transparent to show you the inside. This year at CES 2018, those two ideas are finally merging into one with LG’s new InstaView ThinQ smart refrigerator, which features a 29-inch touchscreen that becomes transparent if users knock on it twice.
LG actually tried this two years ago, with a version called the Smart InstaView Door-in-Door that ran a full version of Windows 10, but it’s not clear that the company ever shipped the Windows version.
This version uses the touchscreen to manage your food using LG’s webOS software and Amazon’s Alexa, which will let you tag food with virtual stickers and expiration dates and get automatic reminders when things are running low or about to go bad. There’s also a wide-angle panoramic camera on the inside of the fridge that will let you remotely view your fridge while you’re out and about to check and see if you’re actually out of milk or not.

Unfortunately, the only image that LG has shared showing the fridge is a low-resolution shot on its YouTube page banner, but it seems that you’ll be able to still use the screen while it’s translucent, allowing you to tag food directly in a vaguely augmented reality-esque move.
LG is also touting how all of its ThinQ kitchen gadgets can talk to each other to make kitchen tasks easier. So your ThinQ fridge can talk to your EasyClean oven, which will help you cook food through step-by-step instructions from the recipe app from your fridge. Then, your EasyClean oven can notify your QuadWash dishwasher about the kind of meal you cooked, so it can more efficiently select a wash cycle for that dish. Of course, all this requires spending thousands of dollars replacing every appliance in your kitchen (and if this all works as well as LG claims it does), but it’s still an intriguing vision of a Jetsons-like future utopia.
No price or release date for the InstaView ThinQ refrigerator or any of LG’s other new appliances have yet been announced.
