PreCentral: Find missing text messages due to wrong network time

Messaging App - Next WeekThis week for your friendly neighborhood tipster started off with old email messages being continually syned to my device due to an odd

and has continued with another weird issue of new text messages seemingly disappearing from the Messaging app as soon as they arrive. The phone would alert me that there was a new message and in some cases I would even see the preview of the message in the top listing of conversations in the Messaging app. But when I would go to the actual conversation, the message was nowhere to be found. In another case, a new message would be received but it didn't appear to show up at all in the Messaging app until I did a type-to-search for the recipient name and then found the conversation in the "LAST WEEK" section of the listing. Finally, in an even odder scenario, a message came in and was now showing under a "NEXT WEEK" section of the Messaging app.

Did I just receive a text message from the future? Do I need to call Captain Kirk? As it turns out, there was no time travel involved here. I needn't to worry about humpback whales, Terminators, Romulans, the Borg or Cybermen, Biff, hot tubs, Daleks, loopers, or apes that can talk. But why did my Pre think the text messages were from next week?

What ended up happening was the network time on my phone was randomly moving ahead or behind by about week. The text message would then be given a timestamp based on the phone's date and time at the time when the message was received and would be placed in the appropriate spot chronologically in a conversation. So, it's not that the message was missing from my messaging conversation, it just wasn’t showing up where I would have logically expected it. Had I scrolled through the conversation to the prior week, I would have found a very out-of-order and confusing conversation. And, this also didn't only affect text messages, but also the timestamp of or photos/videos taken from the camera, phone log records and more.

I will never know why Verizon kept telling my phone to change its Network Time, but I do know a few fixes to help prevent or diagnose this issue in the future.

  • You can install a program like to check that the phone's date and time are correct and then update it, if necessary. Unfortunately, since you will need to define a regular sync time period, this may not help if those random time changes are between time sync periods.
  • If the wrong date is showing up, you may want to go to the Date & Time settings app and ensure that Network Time is turned ON. Then, toggle on and off to force an update to the network time to hopefully sync the correct date and time
  • If the wrong date and time is still showing up, you can always turn off the Network Time option and .
  • Finally, you may want to consider installing a homebrew patch like "Date and Lower-case AM-PM Indicator" or "Date As Carrier String" to add the Date to the top bar header of your device, as you can see in the screenshot above. This way, you can quickly notice if the wrong date is showing up and fix it, as indicated above.

Hi, I hope someone can help. I recently bought this TV but can’t find the Art Gallery app that is supposed to be part of the Home Screen.  I have searched in apps but only third party art gallery style apps show. What am I missing here?
      Thanks

I have an LG32LM6300PLA Smart TV from 2021. I have SVT Play in the browser. How do I get it down to Home (the app bar at the bottom of the screen) so I can choose it there?

On LG OLEDs. You go on and disable SIMPLINK. Fine. But everytime you turn on your HDMI device it enables itself back again. This happens because they have disables two key features that were present in previous OSs, as you can see clearly here
link hidden, please login to view (they even put screencaps of the menus where you see the missing options in the 23) These functions are Auto Power Sync and Auto Device Detection.
Man updates are supposed to add functionalities not the other way around. It's very annoying to turn on your TV and have your AVR turn on without you wanting to.

Anyone found a solution for this problem?

      Hi,

My LG TV model number 32LM560BPTC is having an issue where the Sun NXT app is no longer available on the LG Content Store. I was able to watch it before, but starting yesterday, the app disappeared. However, on my other OLED LG TV, the Sun NXT app is still available in the LG Content Store. Is this issue specific to the 32LM560BPTC model TVs?

I have spent countless hours trying to figure out which remote is compatible with my 27 inch LG television. I can find the TV on LG's website (after intensively searching each time), but when I search the Magic Remotes for compatibility, I've had no luck in anything matching the two.
TV model is 27LQ625S-PU, purchased from Best Buy in America. I'm running 7.3.1-38 for webOS TV version. Trying to purchase one elsewhere online also seems to not have anything resembling my TV make/model.
I don't know what else to do in order to find a remote that works, and I don't want to spend the money trying ten remotes until finding one that does. Am I missing something through the site where I should be searching? Do all remotes work based on webOS version? I'd really love to upgrade this mostly useless remote. I don't use it much right now because I don't like typing through the on-screen keyboard and the remote that came with the TV isn't as easy to use as a universal (I think some of the buttons are in oddly located places). I tend to use external smart devices because the (dumb) remote/webOS don't seem to pair together very well.
I appreciate any help you guys are able to offer, and apologize if this seems like a foolish question.
