  1. The same symptom can be caused by not having "Pass Through" turned on the TV, which was my problem, so I thought I'd share the info.
  2. Make sure you have this set on the TV: Go to Settings > Sound > Sound Out > Optical Set it to "Pass Through" I believe this will make the output to the fiber optic cable be the exact stream from Disney+ (or any other source).
